harmmerd: Ireland is not part of Schengen countries. So you cannot use an Irish visa to go to Germany or France. |

Hi Guys, just to update the house. I applied for an Irish short stay visa to attend a training in Cork, Ireland for a week. below are documents submitted; invitation letter from training company letter of introduction from employer personal self introduction letter including all required details (apparently this is very important but i am always very detailed with this letter) six months account statements of all bank accounts held even though employer is sponsoring (explain lump sums and show the money trail) return flight reservation accommodation reservation mortgage papers its good to note that i have extensive travel history but this, i believe, did not play a big role as other colleagues have not traveled much. I wrote all our letters on intro myself in accordance with everyone's circumstance and please don't forget to include the declaration at the end of it that you must leave Ireland and state reasons in Nigeria that will bring you back home. also worthy to note that this training is directly in line with my job roles and responsibilities. application timeline; submitted - 31-05-18 (a week after colleagues group application. I was away on another trip) received at Irish consulate - 04-06-18 temporarily withdrew passport - 07-06-18 (received 08-06-18) returned passport to embassy(with a prepaid return courier) - 04-07-18 tracked passport return courier envelope on 10-07-18 out of curiosity because my colleagues who applied earlier on 23-05-18 as a group received their visas on 09-07-18 and it had been passed on to courier received passport from UPS - 11-07-18 please always feel free to contact the embassy for anything. they are warm and always helpful. i needed my passport for another consulate visa that would take a month and i contacted the embassy who instructed i send my request to abujaembassy@dfa.ie and it was dispatched to me same day with instructions of how to return it and apparently since all applications are attended to in a chronological order, your application will still be in queue and no delays, at least in my case. NB: please do photo copy all your documents before heading to VFS including all passport pages. best of luck guys. 1 Like |

Olowogbogboro17: For this fly. You will need to submit confirmed flight reservation Lagos-UK-Lagos. Then train, bus or flight ticket UK-Dublin-UK. Then submit detail itinerary of proposed activities in Ireland. Since the visa officer know that you will be arriving from the UK and returning back to UK, it make it easy to approved the visa. You will also have to disclosed any visa refusal and why in the application. 1 Like |

Missionpo: Please how long did it take for them to reply your appeal? I just recently lodged an appeal for a long stay visa and it's been a week now. Appeals they say takes about 4-6 weeks, but my school resumes in 4 weeks. I am being hopeful right now. |

hi @dotcomnamename I recently applied for a study visa to Ireland and got refused on grounds of insufficient information in account and obligations to return. I didn't explain the large deposit lodgments in my sponsors' accounts and didn't provide enough evidence on reasons I would be returning. I was asked to appeal which I have. I carefully explained the deposits, with more information and supporting documents, I included my company payslips and other information also. It's been a week since I submitted the appeal and my school resumes in 4 weeks. What are the chances of it being reversed? Should I contact the school to inform them about the refusal this early? Do long stay visas really get reversed? Do I expect a phone call or email asking for my passport or will it be communicated via courier? I keep checking my emails every time. |

Sir/MA, A friend to my sister who is an Irish citizen wish to invite her for a visit. My sister have not seen this person live, she met him through her nigeria friend that lives in Ireland and works for the man. Since then they have been good together and communicate frequently. Now the guy wants to invite her over for a visit. My question is are they going to grant her visa considering the fact that she hasn't seen the guy in person? |
