Fans have reacted angrily after world famous footballer, Lionel Messi was omitted from the FIFA Best Men's Player award.



Lionel Messi's many fans could not believe what they were hearing after FIFA announced that the football star had not been included in their shortlist for The Best Men's Player award.
This is the first time since 2006, that the Argentine was omitted from the final three.

Luka Modric, Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo made up the trio on the shortlist.

I'm a Messi fan, but sentiments aside, Messi has no place in Top 3. Anyone can win league.

Forget league, it is basic. It doesnt count much.

The 2 most important competitions in the year were world cup and the UCL.

It is an unpardonable embarrassment of Messi to get booted out of UCL at QF.

Messi is the best player in the world, no questions. But I think awards are not necessarily for the best generally or the most talented, but for the one who made the biggest impact over a chosen period.

When sneijder was clearly robbed in favour of Messi in 2010, nobody complained.
