MSCI PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT- AS AT 3 SEPTEMBER 2018/GENERAL COMMENT

MSCI seems to be the major player in the recent bounce in the market. Actually the market has been very shaky, such that the upward movement will definitely be difficult to maintain. Yesterday was a period of no action by the fund.

With the fund stopping further buying, I will not be surprised if there is big drop in the all share index this week.

The indicator is telling me to slow down in committing further funds to the market.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).
N:B

Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts, you will see the various sources where the data can be verified.

Deadlytruth:
From my experience spanning over 15 years on NSE, I have realized that however bearish the general market trend might be, cool money can still be made if one has eagle eyesight. I recall how Ikeja Hotel rose from 70kobo to above N3.5 (400% gain) amidst the very intense bearishness of August to October 2014 occasioned by 2015 election scare. With the same period PZ first fell from N34 to N17 within 30 days but in another 30 days that followed it was back to N34 again. Many more examples abound.
Just last month amidst this current cry of bear with bear bear Neimeth delivered 100% moving from 39 Kobo to 80kobo.
Wapic insurance fell to as low as 31kobo just two weeks ago but yesterday closed on full bid at 39 Kobo.. ....

Hhmmm, the story is sweet to tell because it dances in right direction shey.
Why don't you alert us then? grin
Remember the Wapic you mentioned fell all the way from 57k or thereabout to that 31k, it could have continued with the fallen you know. Those that bought it at 48k or 45k before it further fell thought they had eagle eyes as well
So also Neimeth and others.
Anyway, if someone can monitor price movement closely when no fundamental is backing the price increase up, its achievable. Gambling things. cheesy

What are the implications of this private placement of Aiico. If I buy at current price of 0.99, will there still be prospects of further rise for a quick JiJo. Please all the gurus should assist.
I remember someone here said the price will drop soon.
I appreciate you all.

The dividend was paid out of PIONEER profits.
2n2k:
Flour Mills of Nigeria declared N1 dividend per share but I noticed I was credited with gross amount this morning without deducting withholding tax.
Was there an amendment of the dividend rate at the AGM on August 30th? Anybody?

That was in 2014. I joined NSEMPA in November 2017. Even now I still play my game more with SA (sentiments analysis) than TA, FA, GA (Agbalowomeri's forte) and all other A's.
The fear of monkey hunter label is the beginning of wisdom here on NSEMPA and that is why I don't alert others on my buying choices and time. What the likes of CP, OGG, etc have gone through about that label is enough for anyone to learn. I am too young for such psychological persecution.
I swooped on WAPIC at N0.31 and N0.33N quietly and would not have ever announced it here if not for your question. Though I am ready to bear whatever comes out of it good or bad.

Wapic.such a horrible q2 they released, with eps of 0.0047. It should be selling below 0.20 but somehow its still moving up. No one can predict the market. I even thought fidelity's delayed result would have a toll on its share price

The daily 10% rise is beginning to attract you abi. Just be cautious cos NSE bulls most times last for just4 days in a roll.

For SA just google South African stockbrokers who have online trading platforms and check out their account opening requirements. Most of them allow foreigners / non residents to open accounts with them. But I must warn you, unlike here over there they have all manner of fees and account charges you have to contend with.

Hello House, I didn't know this section has been in existence until April this year; I would have learnt some things that would have guided me better. I have been purchasing stocks since 2001 but passively joined the stock exchange as a participant in 2006 but gullibly held onto all my stocks till I lost almost all my portfolio in 2009.
Now, that I seem to be getting things right, it seems the market is falling again; I am trying to dump some of my shares I suspect may continue losing its present value: FBNH, FO, GUARANTY, and OANDO for starters. Please, any advice for me.
Likewise, AIICO seem interesting, is it reasonable to consider it on the short run and dump once the value starts falling?

Thanks to all the big bosses for advice and direction

How will u put a stop loss at 5%. Thats not even up to the daily range. A stock can fall 10% intra day trade and still end the day 10% up.

For the first bolded, the percentage by which it fell to that N0.57 was nowhere near the average market percentage fall which triggers a sharp reversal irrespective of fundamentals. But at 0.31 that percentage was attained. I remember when you bought SKYE BANK sometime in February at that threshold percentage discount but panic sold almost immediately afterwards and missed the full journey back to the destination. Secondly, it became all too obvious that WAPIC, being no mate with other insurance companies trading at sub N0.3, there was a lean probability for it to join them in that range or even stay too long in that N0.31 border line. This is SA 101.
For the second bolded, assumption of having eagle eyesight is actually different from the actual possession of it.

Lol at the bolded. You dey among village people ni? grin
Concerning Wapic, I too saw the price resistance at 0.31 then. I placed a bid immediately a guy /firm came and sold at 0.31 thus clearing all the bids on ground that particular day but wasn't able to get at that 0.31 again. It actually resisted further shedding at that price.
At the 2nd bolded, well, I will say the fear of losing money is the key here. Eagle eye could turn to bat eye if care is not taken. grin
