I thought you said you were in a hotel? . Yes! The hotel is directly opposite the park. You know for safety reasons now. Should in case, nearest available bus |

Ugosample:
You would have come witg cash instead to be safe.
You would have asked and made all these enquiries before you left Nigeria na
because of Buhari 's way, they block the cards at will and when that happen the person could be stranded
Anyways still try to withdraw at ANY bank you see; it will not make a difference if you use uba atm or not you will still be charged same
If you are still at treichville; take a cab, that is not so difficult to do na
Find a way to withdraw first, today is thursday, there are enough joints to go and flex
if you have naira for real, I can give you in exchange of XOF. How much did you intend to change? |

All those at the park are all Nigerians. You can't be lost if you know where you're going. Just tell them and they will put you in a taxi. But if you still wanna change Naira to XOF I'm available. |

Hmmmmmm.
Ideally I should have directed you to an area called st Michael in adjame where you can meet random nigerians to get assistance from especially if you were yoruba but the issue most of them have been a victim of our dubious nigerian brethren over there which makes them skeptical about trying to help anyone from our country.Besides what exact help do you need before thinking of directing you to my office self. |

first off I want to say a very big thank You to the likes of Ugosample, JWtheocracy1, Popizaino et al who have contributed to the survival of this thread.
I will be making a bold decision which is finally relocating to Abidjan after much thought (don't mind me actually I think I've had enough with 9ja). I've been following discussions on here very keenly.
With much information at my disposal(thanks to those guyz aforementioned) I believe I might not have much challenge save d language ish which I'm very much working on.
Lucky for me have got peepz who have been resident in Abidjan for some time now (around Trechville to be precise)
I just might be sharing my own first hand experiences in a couple of weeks from now.

Is the roofing sheet the normal corrugated iron or aluminium type we use here cus if they are am sorry I don't think that will sell in Abidjan. And before relocating pls plan very well it's a good country but very expensive.
I deal in both but majorly the aluminium type. The barely use those aluminium type roofing sheets over there most houses are concrete roof tops before fixing interlocking tiles.Anyway I will be there by Tuesday and I will try and take pictures of how their houses are over there. 1 Like |

Hello ewenla123,
Its pathetic you left without any notice so we'll be prepared for anything. It also unfortunate you are having difficulty in locating places and most especially your host left you for the lions to eat.
I think, I could be of help a little one way or the other. We may chat via whatsapp +2349084840908
About withdrawing, If your atm is Visa card then you can withdraw at any atm in abidjan. Just ask around. 'Pardon ou est le guichet' or simply speak English someone will help out even if it tedious for anyone to speak. If your atm is Mastercard then you can try uba in cocody as ugosample said or you try one uba at koumassi remblais (this one is closer to treichville ).
Treichville is where my people live so you would have no problem I'll later connect you with couple of people. If you are stranded and need anything like emergency, you can call +22564673014 or you whatsapp him via +2348138404628 (you may indicate to him that 'freeman' gave you his number that I once boarded his company bus to Nigeria) he'll surely be of help. He's name is Quadri Qatab. Especially if you speak yoruba, your flow would be good he is very near to treichville.
Beware of Nigerians in Abidjan once they know you are new they may extort you are find a way to 'Nigerianise' you (or even fear they may get duped by you as popizaino alarmed)
However, since you are new and if you could withdraw more money try using the cabs/taxis in Orange the most to avoid I am lost again or anything whatsoever, as time goes on you will blend and understand routed and colour of taxis to take (they're simple though).
Also feel free to write up your plans what you need and other things you may want to ask like in general for you to integrate. Guys must be of help one way or the other. Book the hotel for like 3 nights and in few days you will find stable accommodation (depends on your duration/your plan).
I hope you are eased without visiting the toilet ☺☺
P.S : Try persuade popizaino and visit him in office (his office sounds to me like the embassy of Nigeria in Coté d'ivoire ) Best Guide they waiting. Guy I don't work in the embassy . |
