India Decriminalizes Gay Sex. Will Nigeria Ever Follow Suit? by Nobody: 8:51pm On Sep 06, 2018 |
It is no longer that India just decriminalized gay sex. Same sex relations attracted a 10-year jail term prior to the Indian Supreme Court ruling. The Chief Justice's exact words were; "Any discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation violates fundamental human rights" Will Nigeria ever follow suit? India, like Nigeria, is a multi ethnic and religious setting. Lalasticlala

It will be nice if the men can engage in more consensual sex with each other. Thereby reducing the high rate of violence against women in India. 1 Like |

pocohantas:That's not the point. The point is gay people should be free to whatever the Bleep they want. I mean, I'm more for lesbians than gay guys but to each his own. Everyone should be free to do what they want as long as they're not hurting anyone. |

Earthbound: That is your own point. My own point is, if this move will reduce the number of sexual predators in India...fine. Since they have fewer women, the men can help themselves cure konji and stop preying on women. But I know it doesn't work that way, so I am indifferent. Not surprising that you are more for lesbians. Decriminalising is different from legalising it though. Which is even the case in Nigeria? 2 Likes |

pocohantas:The ratio of men to women leaves room for homosexuality in women. Decriminalized gay sex means you can't go to prison it. This essentially legalizes it. It's a criminal offense in Naija. |

There is one constant thing- Change. It is no longer a question of "if", but "when". it may happen in a decade or in a century, no one knows, but it will happen. |
