Obi1kenobi:

As a Lagosians myself, I don't see how Ambode has surpassed Fashola. Those of us that stay around the Amuwo-Festac-Satellite Town axis and beyond stretching to Ojo have seen everything deteriorate under Ambo. Lagos state leadership is the most overrated in Nigeria by far. Lagos is blessed by its unique history and strategic location ensuring a massive tax base for successive governments to exploit and generating more in IGR than 31 states combined. The state government gets undue credit for this when in reality, Lagos is a cesspit of corruption run by Tinubu and his underling cronies.
I cant agree less bro. The way Lagos is being projected as the centre of "Excellence" and a beacon of good governance leaves some of us who lived there in the past with properties and businesse speechless with grief and wonder. Just for the records, let it be known that none of the APC states, especially Lagos is yet to sign the FOI bill into law.Guess who was the Attorney General of Lagos then who fought against the Federal Governemnt not to localise it? The current VP,Osinbajo! They are the ones today yapping sanctimonious! smh. This explains why all activities, budgetary allocations, expenditure and governance is shrouded in secrecy and it is considered legitimate in the 21st century Nigeria!! If not that the opposition got a little leeway and released Fashola's handover note, who would have known he used 120 million to sink two boreholes? Who would have known that a kilometer of road costs 1 billion in Lagos. And then if you believe that paltry 30 billion is what they generate monthly, you can believe Buhari has integrity! The day an opposition party will take over Lagos and unearth the hell buried in that state,i hope we all can bear it.
Fact is Lagos is the most corrupt, mean and mindlessly governed state in Nigeria after the core Niger Delta States when one considers the historical and administrative advantages it has over other states. That people mention Fashola and Amode in same sentence as performance showed how damaged the mentality and perspectives of Lagos residents and Nigerians have become. Again,Lagos contemporaries are New-Delhi,Kualar Lumpur,Nairobi,Singapore,Seoul and Rio yet Lagos cannot hold a candle to even the most neglected suburbs in any of the aforementioned cities. Lagos is a sprawling, unlivable and chocking slum in all modern and civilized considerations. Lastly,it has been converted to Tinubu's private estate and this is a documented fact. You can visit this thread to get a first hand intel of how Lagos is being run like a drug cartel.https://www.nairaland.com/4719749/breaking-alphabeta-md-dapo-apara

ABS Film Academy Expands Curriculum, Commences Lectures On Entrepreneurship, Business Management
07 SEPTEMBER 2018

WRITTEN BY DANIEL EZEIGWE
The Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Film Academy, yesterday kicked-off its first lectures on Entrepreneurship and Business Management.

The lecture, which is a weekly fixture, is a supplementary schedule for the intensive film classes to re-structure the ideas of the students in the business of filmmaking.

A Guest Lecturer, Dr Chinedu Onyeizugbe, who is the Deputy Director, Unizik Business School, took the students on vast areas of entrepreneurship, noting that the values they add to their business ventures would only be effective if they are distinctive.

Dr Onyeizugbe also outlined innovation, ingenuity and perseverance as essential entrepreneurial principles , and charged the students to identify their opportunities first in order to operate on a clear insight.

Narrowing the examples down to renowned entrepreneurs like Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote, Warren Buffet, Abasiama Idaresit, Fela Durotoye, among others, the Guest Lecturer observed that any entrepreneurial venture that is not driven by passion and commitment is hitting a dead-end.

Sharp shot that was! Unless there are plans to expand the facilities,i must say that land where the hotel is located is still under-utilized. A much more bigger and better designed structure could have been cited there. We also hope there will be serious landscaping. The environs look as bare and arid as a scorched pitch. Nevertheless, half bread is better than buns.Slow and steady...

I never knew Agulu lake is this big. Aerial photograph is very good for tourism. It is like this shots were done during dry weather going by the burnt grasses. Which means this lake will be much bigger now that it is raining.

Yeah, this shot was actually done during dry season, probably 7-8monhs ago. The recent pictures of resort shows that they have gone very far with the landscaping. I think the government planned a golf too in the premises.

These must be old pics. I'm certain work and landscaping has advanced more than what's shown in the pics.

Honestly, am impressed with the level of development in the state in terms of infrastructure. However, am more interested in the Airport Project. Anybody with pictures of the level of development on the site should please post it. Thanks

Even though I support what you've just said, I don't support you calling the entire Lagos a slum because, I currently leave in Lagos and where I live and work looks nothing like a Slum, infact, I can tell you that almost 1,000 sqkm area in Lagos looks very descent with high standard of living.

see all the empty landmass around the hotel. Anambra state government should build a little resort city around that hotel.

1000 sqkm looks very decent? Please sir,who measured the square metres and with which index do you arrive at this liveability and high standard of living? Just for the records, the liveability of a city is measured by the following:social and economic circumstances for residents, public health(ever been to any of the general and state owned hospitals in Lagos? Pure horror!),infrastructure, and ease and availability of public transportation(transportation in Lagos a topic for another day),opportunities for communal living(built-in functional communities with adequate support system),a balance between work and play(hello),functional and transparent governance, environmental friendliness and sustainability. On these indices, can you sincerely rate Lagos relative to any of her aforementioned contemporaries? You live in Bourdillion or Foreshore Estate and you think you live an elvated life whereas the air you breathe is filled with carbon emittted from road "unworthy" vehicles and rickety buses plying Falomo interchange enroute to the mainland. Smh. Please also note that standard of living is not directly proportional to quality of life! Dare not argue as I will lecture you more if you are willing. Please note I hold eastern governors and cities under same critique rada. We only happen to be discussing Lagos.

Why this hatred?.... How can you ever compare Soludo to Dr Maduka?. Please you need to go Las Vegas or UMUCHUKWU before any more comment.

Dr Maduka has ZERO experience of Nigerian government. He has been in the USA for the past 30 years. The Nigerian civil servants and politicians will eat him alive with their corruption.

Look at Obiano for example. He had plenty private sector experience but in government just look at his impact. The entire savings of over 20 billion under Obi was wiped out in the space of three years. The less than 3km road between Amawbia and Amansea was quadrupled in cost from 3 billion to 13 billion or almost 5 billion per kilometer. His ATMA and OCHA brigade are collecting salary from ANSG and bribes from Anambrarians.

Soludo on the other hand is a government person. He knows how these criminals in govt operate because he was at the CBN and Finance Ministry.

the same Soludo that did not perform well in CBN? Abeg shift jare. So with all the abandoned projects Obi left behind, you expected Obiano not to have used the savings Obi left behind to complete them? The same Obiano you are judging is the person that managed Anambra's economy in such a way that Anambra was the only state that didn't witness recession in 2016 even when the likes of Lagos, Ogun and Rivers entered recession with all their huge IGR.

Which Soludo did not perform in CBN? Brother when were you born biko and based on what do you measure performance? Soludo's recapitalization, mergers+acquisition of banks was a genuis masterstroke that sustains Nigerian economy till date. That single policy saved Nigeria from going under during the global recession in 2008.Not to talk about the vibrancy and stability of the money and capital market throughout that regime. I know you will parrot Sanusi here but am ready to demolish your gutter propaganda.

nice flyover. but much is still expected from the contractors. like proper marking of the service lane and drawing a zebra pedestrian cross way with traffic lights. that's how a civilised society should look like. it's time to end this uncivilized nature of our infrastructure. we should stop fooling ourselves...
