I doubt it has anything to do with your phone. Some networks needs airtime for the USSD banking to function. So, this is most likely a bank or network thing, not a Redmi Note 5Ai thing.

USSD code for bank transaction deducts money m it's not a phone thing. The deduction of money is done by the service provider you are using, EG MTN.

The seller has installed fake global rom for u... If the bootloader is not unlocked bfr it comes here ..my dear sorry is ur case... With dat rom if u update ur fone wl b bricked.. The only solution is for u to open d back of d phone and do testpoint to flash a good rom inside..i experienced dis january and learnt testpoint bfor d fone came to nigeria ..

When u switch on it after sometime u wl see a message at the top.of ur fone sayin its looks like ur rom is unofficial..

And also wen u go to about fone
.the fake one will be shwing .TA in baseband version... Lemi send u pix


D second one is original..

The reason why dey put fake global rom is becos dere is no.global rom yet for the fone .. Its only chinese ..and for dem to sell quick dey hav to sey global so dat ppl wl rush and buy it.. It to sey u knw u fr say make e send d chinese version fr u.. Den u wl unlo k d bootloader n flash a good rom wen xiaomi releases it

If u update it ..ur fone wl brick... Beta bricking....

Fr u to solve it.. Jus learn d testpoint ..den download chinese rom.. Wen d fone comes open it and flash d chinese rom inside and den use google app installer to install google apps online ..since d chinese rom gat no gapps..

Etisalat? I have the same problem on a different phone. It's most likely your service provider.

it's very simple and straightforward.
1. Unlock your bootloader
2. Flash rtwrp (redwolf TWRP to avoid data wipe)
3. Install camera2api.zip
4. Install lazyflasher-no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip
5. Reboot your phone
6. Install Googlecam
Then start enjoying the beauty

Someone earlier claimed that this so called gcam /googlecam is as good as an iPhone X camera.

Do us a favour by posting a pic taken with the gcam.

I'm considering purchasing Xiaomi Redmi note 5a but I'm have doubts over its interface and camera.
