Phyde:

The last auction date was Aug 29th so, i guess the next date will be Sept 12th. I was at StanbicIBTC Festac branch some minutes back to make enquiry on their secondary market which is not too juicy (188days 11.09%, 98days 11.2% and 55days 10.08%) I just decided to filled form for the next primary market auction. The rude lady i met refused collecting my form saying no advise from head office to keep customers form and asked me to come with the already filled form a day before the auction date. PLEASE TBILL GURUS IN THE HOUSE, IS IT ADVISABLE TO GO WITH HER WORDS ?

Thanks for the clarification. Its good to know we have some sensible and helpful people here on this board. I think the rate you got for 98days was good though at 11.2%. First bank was offering 10.5% for 91 days as at thurs, which made me decide to settle for primary market. As per submitting your form, it will be wise to go submit a day before the auction to avoid stories that touch the heart. This bankers get so irritated nowadays. Times have changed indeed.

For those looking at Argentina t-bills pls don't try it. Their economy is currently in tatters and their currency keeps devaluing vs USD. Inflation will swallow your supposed gains and the country might default with payments. Just look somewhere else

The rate at which we engage in quarrels makes me doubt that we are all here to make extra money. This is a faceless group so stop the virtual punches it doesn't increase Tbills rates. You will only end up chasing away the gurus that wouldn't like the re-branding of this noble thread on nairaland.

is 98 days @ 11.2% not good offer?

I was after the tenor as i was looking for a 300+ days tenor. Instead of doing 98 @ 11.2, i will rather wait and do a 364 days. The upfront interest for 98 days will not solve for me what i want to use it for.

My plan was for school fees but i could not get 300+ days and school fees was demanded for. So i had to use reserve funds for the school fees as these days, you pay before resumption and na boarding.

Please i have a question
Isnt it better to invest on Tbills on a short tenure twice or more than to invest on a long tenure once ?
Example.... 55days or 90days at 10% than 210days or 360 days at 13%....?
Like 100k for example.... for 55days u can get ya 10k 3x and make 30k in 165day (55days x 3tyms) unlike doing 360days which is jst 13k?

Plz if i am wrong correct me just tinking out loud thanks

In most investment threads, MEN always make up to 85/90%, is it that our women don't like investments or they prefer the buying and selling types?
