Mamaroon:

Hello everyone...silent reader here.

Pls just want to mention a few things about the French TEF exams.

Pls see below.

You will get points for French from CLB 5...anything below CLB 5 is ZERO.

There are 4 abilities just like IELTS, the ranking is:

CLB 5 or 6 - 1 point per ability
CLB 7 or 8 - 3 points per ability
CLB 9 or 10 - 6 points per ability

However if you are able to get CLB 7 and above, in addition to the points stated above you will get an extra 30 or 15 points....depending on your IETLS English CLB scores.

So aim for CLB 7 and above if you are looking for mega points...and you are old like me tongue

Thanks mamaro(o)n grin

Ok. Valid point.
Tojued:

Not necessary in my opinion. Use of LOE should be as limited as possible.

I feel like the more documentation provided, the more there is to review. Keeping it simple is always difficult in the anxiety of submitting. Then later when you start wondering whether they've sent you to London you'll be regretting all the extra stuff you put. Hindsight will make you realise they were unnecessary.

Getting your Educational Credential Assessment.

If your diploma or degree is not from Canada, you need to get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
An Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is used to check the Canadian equivalency of a foreign degree, diploma or certificate. For example an ECA will determine if an applicant’s foreign Master’s degree is of the same standard when compared to a Canadian Master’s degree. If your credential is awarded in Canada by an Canadian educational body, you do need to provide an ECA.

For the Federal Skilled Trades (FST) program and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), you do not need a minimum education level to qualify for Express Entry. However, you can still get CRS points for any secondary education you've had outside Canada, if you get your ECA.
There are seven designated organizations for ECAs:
Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, CES
International Credential Assessment Service of Canada
ICAS
World Education Services, WES
International Qualifications Assessment Service, IQAS
International Credential Evaluation Service, ICES
Medical Council of Canada (professional body for Doctors), MCC
Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (professional body for Pharmacists), PEBC

Most applicants will be able to get their ECA done by selecting one of the first 5 designated organisations from the list above.

If you are a specialist physician (NOC 3111) or general practitioner/family physician (NOC 3112), the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) must do the ECA for your primary medical diploma.

If you are a pharmacist (NOC 3131) and need a license to practice (for example, providing patient care in a community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, etc.), the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) must do your ECA.

ECA validity period: valid for a period of 5 years from the date it is issued.

The processing time are approximative and begin once a complete application is received. Processing times can also depend on the volume of application received.

2. I have 2 years diploma and 3 years degree, can it be evaluated as 2 or more certificate?
ChyG:
1. I think you can. I sent my certificate to IQAS via hellofax.com in October.
2.The document would get to them immediately although IQAS takes her time when it comes to acknowledging receipt.

Good day my people, please I want to confirm if I can send my documents (my certificates) to IQAS through hellofax.com, while my school sends my transcript through their post mail?
2. If yes, how long does it take to get to IQAS and will they accept it?

Please can someone who knows assist me on this??

IQAS no longer accepts documents/application by fax.

"Please be advised IQAS does not accept applications or supporting documents by fax.  You may wish to resend the information you sent by fax to IQAS by mail or courier"

The above was the message received by a friend some weeks ago

It took one month from when they received my transcript by email, this includes delivery to the Canadian address I used. This was back in February tho
Costs $275 to deliver to a naija address and $236 or thereabouts to deliver to an address in canada.

Please is it compulsory they deliver the hard copy to you and why?

[will I be needing birth certificate too or my children? quote author=gbemiigbal post=70906090]Indo from a reliable source from National Population Commission. Getting BC from NPC will soon become a herculean task as it will be outsourced to a company in the coming months. So hurry up and do yours ASAP.

A PPR( PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP) COMPANY WILL BE INVOLVED IN ATTESTATION AND WILL BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE, PEOPLE WITHIN NIGERIA will pay 10K and those OUTSIDE Nigeria will pay 25K.

Sorry for typos, copied straight from the chat sent to me. [/quote]

I've read that it helps but it's not assured. If you have the means, attend. Consider it a mini vacation

New Brunswick has got their own requirements for nomination however attending the session gives you a tie to the province and can come in handy during nomination calls by them....the one for Dubai has hot some targeted occupation though, id your occupation is listed you can go and even get a job offer as job fair is part of the session....there is more information on their website...

Please help me out. I have gone thru the thread but not sure of seeing answers. What do i do to post ITA mistake. I finished my masters in 2017 but i dont know how i filled it as ongoing study. Same for hubby as well. We have evaluated already with WES and we have our certificate. Can i rectify it somehow or i should just decline ITA. sad. Quite a sad mistake but it doesn't affect our points tho. Thank u.

I think the error was when we were filling and we saw "is this your current degree". We thought it meant current highest degree. Instead, it appeared as an ongoing course.

Another advantage is that it is used as a criteria for their express entry program. As can be seen in the attached website screenshot.

Not a big deal in my opinion. Especially since points aren't affected. Correct it post ITA. You might want to add an LOE so you can sleep well at night after sending the application.

They do not send soft copies as a rule. Only the hard copy, either to a Canadian address or international address

If you applied and got invite, I honestly think it worth giving a try, because I know of a family friend that went through this route and she is chilling in Canada with her family now.
I think the province is using this means to provide workers to the teeming employers in her province, they allocated some of their nominations quota for this purpose. It's an alternative to getting New Brunswick provincial nomination. Although, I doubt if get crashers are allowed in this kind of organized event. Invitation will likely go out to successful ones by weekend, as IV are sent one week to the event.
In my opinion, if the cash, time and invite are YES, I humbly suggest you attend without thinking it twice. Remember this journey is not for the faint hearted.

Yes. if this certificate is at least a year program with at least two semesters. And if you can also obtain transcript for this certificate. So you have the answer now, act base on your response to the aforementioned.
Goodluck.

Nothing to worry about. As far as your ECA number is correct pre-ITA, thats all that matters. I actually made same mistake. As Tojued suggested, correct it post-ITA, then do a short LOE saying that you erroneously indicated "YES THIS IS MY CURRENT STUDY" during application for Express Entry. They'll see from your msc certificate that you finished in 2017
