Lol. All these your talk is not racism. It's more like people scrambling for limited resources. Why are you crying that other countries want to gain world power? Direct your rant at the leaders of our nation who cannot make effective policies. We are our own problem not the whites.

See me here thinking you even had an iota of sense.
Me self don tire for the woman.
We are not united as a nation or as a continent how then can we fight the discrimination of blacks in the other parts of the world when we shout afonja, ipob etc either is even evident on NL.People typing tribalistic and hateful comments on Nl that want to stand up to western authorities.
We are truly our own problem.

Please, how is this related to feminism?

Sure a racist can also be Feminist, just like a racist can also be a manist, but it doesn't mean that all feminists are racists.

You have been mixing all of things up in your post since the beginning

That's because you didn't not read even my first post that's why you don't understand me.

It will not make sense to you because you have no sense as well.

Feminism exist because of white women. It's their biggest challenge.

Our challenge as Black people including men as well is racism.
White women use Black women to fight their battles making you loose focus of the biggest battle which is racism that is also perpetuated by them ( white women )

Feminism is a tool to create tensions between African genders because they cannot openly use racism anymore.

Get some sense.

That's rubbish. All this stems from racism and white supremacy created by white people..

Feminism is not your biggest problem. Racism to both African men and women is a problem. BOTH genders are victims.

Your narrow minded made you assume that the suffix SA means I am South African. Yes in paper but not ethnically. That's rubbish.

African woman have always had their roles clear and defined AND there were never serious issues Yes there have always been bad men in our communities, but not exceeding good men. 99% of my relatives are good men who support women empowerment and never stands in the way of their women's individual progress. I am a living example and my female relatives too.

When men hand over their roles e.g. being a provider or 50/50 financial responsibility you cry foul. You want to be equal and take over some manly roles yet you don't want to carry the responsibilities that come with the roles.

I said I refuse to include any race in our gender issues and debates. That include Whites, Arabs, Asians, Chinese etc. We are different and we will never be the same and our battles are not equal. They are more advantaged than you. Don't think you are equal. The US is likely to deport you than an Asian women.

Black women are so quick to buy other races battles when not even once other races bought your battles and fought for you. Instead they join in and oppress you.

Asians, Indian, Chinese join in and oppress you. You people think it is being educated and enlightened to fight for other races that oppress you and fight your existence.

You can never join forces with any race that:
1. joins in and oppress you
2. that already has other privileges that you don't have.

RACISM IS A PROBLEM. IT CREATES INEQUALITY.

AFRICANS focus on racism and not FEMINISM that seeks to create division between you and your MEN.

African Men have always empowered us because they know it's for their benefit too.

Stop looking for a problem where it doesn't exist. Racism is a problem.
@ emboldened

Societies evolve and customs/social norms change all the time. it is called civilization

Just because something was accepted within a society at a particular point in time doesn't mean it's the best way to do things......

Just like we have allowed mobile phones to change the way we communicate eventhough the mobile phone is not necessary our invention, we can always give woman's liberation movement the same opportunities.

Besides, the western societies were not always pro feminism like you are trying to insinuate, there was a time in history when white woman also only had one role to play in the society and it was in the home.

You are just like the others who didn't read what I said and jumped into attacking me.

I said we need
1. TO GET RID OF RACISM
2. EQUAL AND QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL GENDERS,

IF WE ACHIEVE THE ABOVE WE WONT NEED FEMINISM.

My parents and grandparents never grew up when there was feminism, but one was a doctor, a nurse, a teacher. All of them were empowered without feminism and with the men that you paint to be monsters .

Feminism has always advanced white women and never African ( Black )women. African still face discrimination from the same White feminists in pursuit of their white agenda.

Perhaps your grandparents were enlightened enough. Mine weren't so enlightened, hence they considered it a waste of resources sending my mom to school since her education would end in a man's kitchen. Unfortunately, non of her male siblings that were allowed to go to school then made progress in education.

Racism is a different thing from feminism, and even among us blacks we still discriminate against one another on the bases of nationality, tribes, religion etc.
Even here in Nigeria, tribalism, regionalism and statism exist amongst us. Do you know that even in some states in Nigeria, some people are still classed as "slaves" while others are considered "freeborn"
Even the racism against blacks by the whites is a child's play compared to the level of discrimination amongst us. You say that whites discriminate against us yet many blacks are living freely, working and even aspiring to leadership positions in white man's lands. In my state in Nigeria, some people are considered as "Osu" and are not allowed to hold leadership positions. Guess the whites should also be blamed for that?

So, let's not mix feminism with racism. If we want to tackle racism let's start from ourselves!

You argue with so much emotions and very little logic

You have resorted to insults to drive your points home your points

Our problems as blacks transcends racism, we also have the problems of bad leadership and low self confidence.

Notwithstanding, we cannot ignore certain problems around gender inequality within our societies, if you have ever been to the north of this country, you will see enough evidence of this.

The way you type it seems you may be racist as well(racism does not come up when it concerns whites oppressing blacks only).I am done with you madam because racism does exist does not make feminism less important hence why any form of discrimination needs to be fought hand in hand and it(feminism) would continue to grow as a movement.Racism is not the immediate problem of some people same way feminism is not a solution to some people.
Bye bye I am done with you I am tired of exchanging words with a woman who doesn't know that discrimination comes in different forms.

The way you are so stupid you think an African can be racist. Racism is a system of power created to advance one race at the expense of another race. Racism is power to control resources and means of advancement.
Africans can not be racist. We have no power. We do not have power to control anything while oppressing other races.

You don't even understand yourself.

I still put it to you that Feminism has got nothing to do with advancement of black women, but advancement of white women. You are not on par with white women to be demanding to be equal with their male counterparts.

Feminism is used to sow divisions between African genders.

African men are equally victims of racism which creates gender equality, so they have nothing to offer us.

How do we demand equality from people who never even created inequality. African men did not created gender inequality.

They co-created gender roles with us but never stopped us from advancing to anything we wanted. So we cannot demand gender equality from them, when they didn't create it.

Just like we cannot demand African men to end racism because they didn't create it. They are equally victims.

Believe white women's propaganda at your own peril. It doesn't have your African interests at heart but theirs.

By the way I didn't even ask you to debate nonsense with me. You chose to. Bye.

You guys should stop attributing feminism to marriage talking about headship and tailship like as if you know what it means to be a leader leadership is service not dictatorship. Not everyone is a Christian who believes in headship and tailship. Some believe in egalitarianism.I find men who demand submission from women or feel that they need to be in control as men who are insecure, lack self esteem that needs a woman who can validate them because they have a joystick.Men were leaders in the stone age and it could change as time progresses.Nature this nature that I am sure that nature wanted us to remain in the stone age you forget that the earth evolves and everything is bound to change.Educate yourself on feminism and stop bringing your close minded view on issues.

My dear in my world I demand submission because the woman that brought me into this world is up till date submitted and obedient to her husband, she was a highly respected career woman, reached the peak of her profession. She inculcated that into her daughters: 5 girls. 2 are doctors, and all her girls are graduates. The ones that are married are respected in their homes and by their husband's people.

Feminist my foot.

You guys should keep on deceiving yourselves, woman fighting what right with man? There are people you can tell those.

And mind you I am a very good responsible man. I love, care for, pamper, nourish, take care of and cherish my woman. And she submits willingly because she knows that no one will love and take care of her like me.

ok, i don scatter table. abebe, your toto dey scratch you?

u r an idiot. I pray u fall in love and marry a man who would treat u like crap and beat u. You people don't like it when successful and independent women try to set good precedent. This strong women that try to change the statusquo for young girls. Women that would be an example to your daughters and daughter's daughter. Women that would show young girls that in a world of masochist, uncaring male world , a strong independent woman can make it.

stupid people like u come to type rubbish every time. You think when this strong women like Chimamanda glorify feminist stand they say it out of frustration. They could have very well enjoyed their independence and success in silence. But they chose to come out with it to set a good precedent- cos ur their story will have a big impact on society now and in d future. But u self absorbed idiot like DT DJ Cuppy, try to
shun them and make a mockery of feminism. At least Cuppy has her father's money and she is not likely to deal with issues on male dominance and intimidation on a daily. You what do u v?

In a nutshell Nigerians cannot embrace feminism because the culture of setting good precedence is lacking. It is systemic, our biggest problem. Why do u think politicians embezzle a lot of money. They yield to man's selfish nature, nobody cares to live by example. Nobody stands for anything, no one would try to set good institutions, values and ethics because they feel it doesn't affect them. They are all myopic. They don't know that the rotten system they leave is what their generations would come to face. You can't be there forever.

Let's have a rethink. When a woman says she is feminist, she is only acknowledging her strength and independence and it is what your generation would come to benefit. Let's raise girl s to think they are equal to boys and let boys be raised to know that a girl is not supposed to grovel before them.

another slowpoke. Women can't always submit. They shld be treated equally. If she is always submissive she would never have a say even when you are about to make a stupid decision. But since by nature u r egoistic u won't want to be questioned. It is in man's nature to be selfish u can't always be selfless. In your moment of selfishness what will she do? She can't question u cos u r d man.

Who gives a Bleep about pampering? Pampering is not enough, women deserve respect. I think they are two different things. Also you have as much right to pampering as she does. So don't think pampering her overrules equality.

Most women in Nigeria are lazy, so u wld be considered an ideal husband anyhow.

The divide and conquer tactic

Yes. True.
It is working amongst African American community. African American woman see an African American man as an enemy not an victim like them or an ally.

Feminism advances White Women's agenda only. Which most of their agendas have already been addressed. They just need further advancement.

They same feminists hardly address racism perpetuated by them to other women of other races.

@ emboldened says a lot about you

Racism is a believe not a system of power

In Nazi Germany, during the reign of Adolf Hitler, the Jews were subjected to heavy discrimination and racism to the extent that thousands of them were killed in concentration camps, the neo Nazi flag is widely used across the world today as a sign of racism.

in south Africa, around 2013 in the suburb of Jo'burg, thousands of angry black south Africans attacked and destroyed Somali and Ethiopians owned shops because the black South African claimed that they were not black enough.

Throughout history. ordinary people have taken decisions to hurt or spite others just because they are not necessarily comfortable with their skin color or opinion.

Yet, others have stood their grounds and encouraged diversity,

So do let anyone have your hate, or do not allow hatred cloud your sense of judgment

If weren't for feminism,

>Sexual Assault won't be treated as serious case,

by the way, treatment of sexual assault as a serious case is one the main contributions of black women to feminism ( read up on that)

>Education for the girl child will be relegated to the background and women like Dr Ngozi iwela or Dora Akuluyi might not have existed

>Certain disease that takes the life of women will have relegated to the background

And sure, feminism just like any other movement to emancipate mankind has its excesses and flaws which I often disagree with..

Still, I believe the average women's life is a lot better because of the positive activities of feminism.

See this fool agreeing with me. With all that you wrote above about Matriarchal society proves that we never had issues with gender roles. A woman was always respected. All this happened in the absence of racism.

It was not feminism. It was our own African way of advancing women and respecting their place in our societies.

This feminism seeks to empower and leave African men outside, who were and are also victims of racism.

So we never had gender role issues or gender disagreements therefore we have racism problem.

Advancement of women has never been an issue in our African societies(so says you above).

So we agree using the examples of Ghana that women have always had their important place in African society.

What's your point because you agree with me. grin

How many women are even state Governors in Nigeria?

How many women politicians do you know?

So we agree using the examples of Ghana that women have always had their important place in African society.

What's your point because you agree with me. grin

My dear those people you are arguing with can't understand. Your explanation is point blank and highly educative. So don't waste your energy. I really respect your views and analysis.

I retire from this debate. Unfortunately it's at their own expense.

Let me ask you some question

How many women have ruled US?

How many women are even state Governors in Nigeria?

How many women politicians do you know?

Lady a woman is fragile, like egg. Even strength wise, a womans physical strength is low compared to a man's. So this your talk is day dreaming!!
You type like as if things are not changing. You are using America well let me tell you that we have a woman vying for the house seat who is Muslim and is on her way to be the first female Muslim in the us house. Also stacy Abrams is a woman vying to be the first black female governor in AmericaAmerica has had many female governors, mayors, congresswomenetc over the years.Hillary won the popular vote but failed in the electoral college and that does not stop other women in America from vying for the presidency it is only a matter of time before America produces a female president the mid term elections on it's way has many female nominees.

For your second question let us see if Aisha al hassan can win Taraba Nigeria has had some deputy female governors in the south west it is only a matter of time for woman to be the governor in a state even if it is twelve years from now.

Thirdly,I know few Nigerian female politicians but I have heard of so many women breaking the glass ceilings abroad I can boldly tell you that I am well politically informed than you.

Also I am not an egg but a human being so do not try to compare women with such I am not fragile It is an insult to hold such a primitive view on women. In terms of physical strengths yes men are stronger but there are exceptions for some women and technology has made things easier that a man's physical strength is not a 100%required we are not in the stone age.In this age of technology you analytical, intellectual skills etc is required.

Believe you me nobody is day dreaming it is only a matter of time for women to continually break the glass ceiling world over.

Advancement of women has never been an issue in our African societies(so says you above).

u obviously don't know how to argue. I am disagreeing with you slowpoke. This is what u said: DT feminism is a western ideology propagated by white women for their self interest, using black women in the process. I am saying, slowpoke, DT it isn't western, gender equality and even female superiority can be found in some African societies throughout their history. It is this same feminism u disagree with and dislike and attribute to Western women. African women are fighting for their rights and equality. It is not a #metoo campaign, as u guys like to put it.

So brother we are not on the same page at all.

@ emboldened

Feminism that fought for equal right for women in the work place in our societies

Feminism that fought to protect the employment rights of women during maternity leave

None of these things are peculiar to any race

You don't even know what you are arguing against

You are simply arguing with propaganda and alternative (facts) reality, using unrelated scenarios, which is more of a fallacy than logic

Even the devil knows the Bible very well
