BascoVanVeli: I hope the Uyo pitch will b well maintained.. considering the fact that there are no more npfl games and the politics going on in Akwa Ibom... If Uyo isn't ready then let's move to Abuja..its been long we played there |

Joebie: I could walk to the stadium in Uyo but I rather watch on TV tbh. I can understand wanting to see the guys close up but winning is more important than all that. Honestly if I were a governor I wouldn't dare host the super eagles because it costs too much money. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 11:06pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
forgiveness: It does because all EPL stadiums have fans close up to the action and nobody finds them intimidating. You are making this assumption without any recent evidence of crowd violence coming from Gambia. The bolded is not nice and has nothing to do with what I said. When u get treated nicely by away fans in Africa trust me it is a rarity. When River United went to Sudan they were stoned at the airport. You have not told me that the Gambians were hostile, all u are saying is they were on the track. |

Danielnino00: The Aiteo Cup should be played there. I also have the same questions about the politics and I hope they take that mess to the other stadiums in the State. They have been doing a good job with maintainance so far so good. I wouldn't mind Abuja but we know the stadia will be half empty. |

BascoVanVeli: Where did EPL's fans stood and sat on track? There's what we call culture shock. Maybe that's why Algerian fans reacted. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 11:51pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
forgiveness: That's my point, they don't have tracks but the fans are exactly where the tracks should be or even closer. That is why the players can even hug them while celebrating. I don't think it is right for people not to get to watch a game when there is space for them inside. Football is not played on the track so why must that space be empty? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Luckyroro(m): 11:57pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:I'm not trying to make excuses for anyone. I'm just stating the fact. A club represents a unit. A national team represents a conglomeration of different units (In this case, the nation's general image is at stake). If a football federation and their Government cannot provide a standard stadium for their competitive match then it's a big shame. Your analogy would have made more sense if you said Spanish national team played on a bad pitch. Only then will I accept that it's a general problem but telling me that Rayo Vallecano (a clubside) hosted Barcelona (another clubside) on a bad pitch is somewhat way out of line because both do not represent the general image of Spain but Seychelles national team does represent the National interest of Seychelles. So my friend, I do hope you understand this one. 1 Like |

darkelf: You are both right. They always choke but we can't rely on that alone. If you look at their results since they beat us it is like they feel they can die now because they have not been good since then even at club level. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by BascoVanVeli(m): 12:06am On Sep 10, 2018 |
Luckyroro: It is still just one stadium we are talking about. Seychelles is a small country and the only artificial pitch in Nigeria that I can beat my chest and say is better just got installed in Aba. If you play in Agege or Kano the ball can never stay on the ground, we watched the Aiteo cup final and the CHAN qualifier against Benin they were border line unwatchable. 1 Like |

BascoVanVeli:Pitch is one thing. Stadium is another. We lack both in Africa. How do you think an avid EPL fan will rate African football when he sees that picture of Gambian fans almost close to the pitch? Isn't that an eyesore to you? Even my village league has moved past the stage of near-invasion of pitch. |

Luckyroro: The difference between these pictures is that one of them is in Africa. Liverpool fans are so close that this fan actually held back Balotelli to prevent him from getting a yellow. You can even see space between the grass and where the fans in Gambia are sited but that can't be seen at Anfield, that means the fans in England are even closer than those fans were.

darkelf: Bro, its already playing out right before our eyes. South Africa couldn't beat Libya at home. South Africa might not even beat Seychelles away. I repeat they always choke at the end. We will definitely beat SA at home. Qualification is already in the bag. |
