@Kazzman, what the hell are you talking about? Yoruba is by far the largest tribe in Nigeria, Yoruba are 25% of the total population, followed by Hausa at 19%, Igbos at 17%, Fulani 9% and then the rest. Btw, that's Yoruba for you, we just need to get out of Nigeria to get back our old glory and embrace the future with all our people all over the world visiting and we can get some cash from tourism. Sorry kolajoo, I quoted you by mistake. kolajoo: |

This article is suspicious. How come this news is only carried by a few Nigerian websites (known to make up stories) and no foreign website? A quick look at the list of Brazillian official languages does not list Yoruba as one of them, why are Nigerian journalists so quick to make up stories? 2 Likes |

For a language to be taught in Brazil's school, simply justifies the adoption of Yoruba as an Official language, so that the Yoruba descendants in Brazil, will feel closer to their ancestral home in west Africa. From Yoruba Nation on FB says, ‘NewsmakersNG was told in an exclusive interview with the Brazilian minister of culture, Dr Sérgio Sá leitão at the weekend in Brazil that the government has introduced the compulsory study of African History and Yoruba language into the primary and secondary schools curriculum'. |

Olu317:First, maybe you should look up the definition of 'official language' to know what it truly means. Second, you're quoting what someone said as 'valid' facts with no solid proof. I could claim that a house of representative here in the US made a statement and would you value it as real? In the meantime i'll leave you to your imaginations. 1 Like |

Black Brazil’s deeply rooted in Yoruba just as the same goes for Afro-Americans and Igbo. Whether we like it or not. |
