charlyduru: Yes, his best bet would be to mail the admissions office of the school. I know a school that, in their requirements page, didn't explicitly state whether transcripts will compulsorily be WES-evaluated or not. Not until i mailed them that they confirmed so. |

Linzo:I don't think so. The question was relative to the general "slow" nature of processing applications. No particular application process was directly asked even though different responses were given on various application types. Meanwhile, the was a response given about study permit applications in the latter part of the first response. That being said, it is also important to note that all Canadian immigration path be it permanent or temporary(study permit)understandably go through same bureaucracy, GCMS structure, Security and criminality checks etc. Every individual applying to enter Canada(TR/PR)will always undergo a standard procedure for admissibility and eligibility as enshrined in their laws and provisions of the immigration and refugees protection act. I think the respondents especially the first supplied information on the workability and challenges surrounding the modus operandi of IRCC visa applications which is significant to the question asked. kristlike: Congratulations on your stellar result. Most times, the MBA is for professionals with not less than 2years work experience. However, a lot of factors determine whether you will be granted admission or not. These factors include: Your class of degree, GMAT or GRE score and work experience. But the good thing is, excelling in one aspect could make up for shortfall in others. For instance, if one has several years of significant and rich work experience but a low GMAT score, he could be still be granted admission coz his experiences and outlook on business will be indispensable when contributing in class. Your own case specifically, since you have an excellent class of degree, try to score well in the GMAT exam (at least a 700) and your lack of experienve could possibly be waived. But i personally think it is quite early for you to start chasing an MBA tho. Forget the hype and bandwagon opinions, most MBA programs offer a superficial to mid-level exposure on various concepts in the corporate business and entrepreneurship world. It wont give you the indepth specialization you need at this stage of your career. If you peruse the course outline of a typical MBA program, you would see courses that people would, otherwise, have specialized in as an M.Sc program for 2years. Besides, there is a greater level of understanding through contextualization that comes with having work experience before going for an MBA program. My point is, why not consider an M.Sc in a finance-related field? 4 Likes |

odimbannamdi:Thanks for that response. I really do appreciate. I'd have consider M. Sc instead of MBA but, I got an information that pursuing M. Sc program mean one wants to end up in a classroom ( I. e lecturing job) which I've never dreamed of. I always have dire passion for corporate world talking of companies like investment banks, CBN and other notable financial institution. ultimately, I was told that my dream can only come true by pursuing further studies on MBA -that it's more preferable in terms of prospect,pay,awe-inspiring experience not to mention a few. I hope I've been able to convince you on my idea of pursuing one at the expense of other sir? |

Good evening, Pls i am still awaiting outcome for admission and i want to seek advise on sponsorship. I plan goimg for MBA and i have been saving up for a while. With almost 12 yrs work exp. Can i be self sponsored? I have enough funds on my own. Can self sponsorship reduce my chance of getting the permit?. |

Please does anyone know colleges and universities that accept NECO GCE and will refund if visa isn't approved. Thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by yemupz(m): 11:22pm On Sep 10, 2018 |
teefinix: No. I do not think self sponsorship affect your chances of getting the study permit in anyway. In fact with 12yrs work experience, I believe the visa Officer will expect that you have earned and save enough to sponsor yourself. Although that long work experience also means that you have been out of school for long time. You may have to explain/convince the VO in your SOP why you're going back to school now after so long, how it improves your career prospects and why you choose Canada. All the best! |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by yemupz(m): 11:26pm On Sep 10, 2018 |
Omowunmibaby: I think you will need to check individual schools for their admission requirements. Just pull up list of universities in Canada from Google and check them out. Although, I suspect that most Canadian Universities will accept NECO. I don't know about refunds, but again that's usually not a problem as schools know that visa is never guaranteed. |

blessedness: I'd like to correct a view which seems to be getting quite common. Please note it doesn't apply to the moniker above but I just used it to buttress my point. We've recently seen several expectees who didn't do medicals upfront but did it after submitting their biometrics to speed up their application if it is positive. Now most people seem to call that 'upfront medicals'. That is simply wrong as it wasn't done upfront but after biometrics has been completed. It completely throws me off when people upload medical results much later after application submission and still call it up front medicals |

Dwebb55: What exactly is your point here? Upfront medical or after application medical, wch ever, the main thing is that CIC has acknowledged d medicals and u won't have to get medical call again. You are just waiting for approval or refusal 1 Like |
