But in Nigeria, the investors know that there is no 'issue' with election. The risk in 2018/2109 is much lower than 2014/2015. In 2014/2105 you had a North vs South with associated tensions while 2018/2019 it is likely a North vs North.

Just read a report that the total foreign money in the market is only about $10bn. Our reserve can accommodate that I believe.

@Wanaj0, thanks for various analysis. I strongly believe that, what is happening is beyond election. Anyway something must happen before something else happens. My opinion is that it is not a time to stake fund. It is time to watch and allow the market to wiggle down. The way the candles are looking is terrible with bad momentum no slowing down in view yet for NSE.

i think the politicians to might be offloading in order to fund their campaign since there is no access to free money again like before.

If you check other emerging markets, you will likely see something similar! Reason why I believe it is NOT about election. Election was known in January when the 'bulls' were raging. Changes between January and now are mainly EXTERNAL.

Politicians may be disposing off assets for election funding BUT selling at such depressed prices is not to their benefit.

Even in emerging markets where there is no election, outlook is similar!

politicians always offload assets in the run up to the elections

It's not peculiar to this one

I know a lot of properties that change hands all the time in Abuja, especially during elections

the legislators that lose will further offload assets before hand over

this country is an interesting country

Mendes911 did you open that GTB H1 result ?
On a serious note you and Agba needs to stop all these jokes because some people here don’t open results, they just wait to read comments about the results and may take your comments serious..
please do not badmouth a good result because you want to buy a stock at a low price..
Let all the joke stop.

Let me quote your post today.

Recall the day we had this conversation and I tried to explain that my expected drop in share prices of GTB and Zenith will have nothing to do with their result, rather a case of "see finish" .

GTB and Zenith exhibit this almost 90% of the time, after release of interim and FY results.

Not only politician.

High netwoth individuals are moving funds out of the country.

Recently, the FIRS said they are going after citizens with 1billion and above in thier accounts.

With the fines and revenue drive everywhere nobody wants to keep money around.
