PDP is the only party that has structures on ground for Ambode to defect to, other opposition parties do not have the structures and financial war chest PDP will offer Ambode, and don't forget many APC chieftains in Lagos are not Happy with Tinubu overbearing attitude, they will mobilise support for Ambode if dumps APC, cos all of them want to be free from Tinubu tyranny

If it's going to be Ambode again, nothing can stop him but he should scale through the primaries first.

And should Ambode loses out and defects then that is the end of APC IN Lagos.

First, this isn’t a case of “impeachment” as alleged by the author of this post. Whatever happens through the election, Ambode will still hold sway as the Governor of LAGOS and wrap his current tenure on May 29, 2019...except there’s a spiritual shakeup on his existence.

Secondly, this is just the political expression of angst by Tinubu at Ambode for undermining his dynasty and dominance of the Lagos political clan.

For those who know, Ambode (who isn’t much of a politician), hasn’t been in good terms with Tinubu since he emerged as the Governor in 2015. Think of the VisionScape fracas, LTV, LLC saga and lots more.

Anyway, this is politics...No permanent enemy, no permanent friend, just permanent interest.

The bottom line is that majority of these manipulations and maneuverings aren’t in the interest of the citizens, rather, personal and oligarchy.

...i think similar scenario played out when Fashola wanted to contest for 2nd term...Tinubu and some of his supporters raised some issues against him...at the end of the day their plot didn't happen because the people of Lagos state dared Tinubu and were ready to massively vote for Jimi Agbaje...

...Tinubu and his supporters should be very careful...or else APC will lose in Lagos come 2019...

This Tinubu wont let any incumbent Lagos Governor enjoy their 8 years. After disturbing Fashola, now it´s Ambode. The funny thing is that both Fashola and Ambode outperformed him. Am begining to think their is a pattern to all of this. Maybe he is trying to renegotiate whatever arrangement he made with the sitting Governor.

Interesting development. Though i like Ambode, but I must say that second term should not be a 'right' for any governor in Nigeria, you must satisfy your constituency and live up to expectations. Let us see if this will further deepen our democracy. May the best person emerge.

It's actually a right that should only be decided by people's vote in a free and fair elections not by one Godfather....... But on this case, he Ambode needs to be humble to the system that made him.
