Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, Chairman/CEO of Forte Oil, has accepted to run for the governorship seat of the Lagos State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This was made known by Femi Otedola on Twitter who wrote;

Breaking news: Lagos 2019 promises to be interesting. PDP offers Femi Otedola governorship ticket. He's accepted and personally confirmed to The Boss newspaper..

F O investor wat the next step.

When I saw Otedola increasing his social media presence, I knew he was after something; the only logical thing is politics and the most likely being Lagos State governor.
However, he won't win and with the present situation of FO, the shares can only go down; no credible asset to give it any market improvement. Until there is a change in the company's business, any price improvement is obviously due to loading so don't consider the shares for too long.
I am talking from the experience of someone who got on the FO bus at 93 naira and jumped down at 19 naira because I can't handle the frustration anymore

I never knew that it rose to that amount, I would have sold mine. My major concern is to sort out my over 6000 unit shares with the defunct Intercontinental bank.

The way the stock market is going is becoming disheartening, I don't know if I should sell my access bank shares that I bought at #14.90/share in thousands of units as at 2007. I have even lost hope in Transcorp, bought at #7.50 per share in 2007 also.

I am already making moves to sell my Zenith bank shares bought at #16.90k in 2006 because of the current situation of the NSE. I never knew it went as high as #28.00 per share recently as I read here.

I have been advised to exercise a little Patience with the access bank before selling. What do you think will be the best option for me?

You can use automation tools like setting "alert" on investing.com to send you target price information whenever it happens. This tool has really saved me from the stress of daily followup on prices as well as preventing me from forgeting my stop loss prices too.

After I lost over #500,000 from my shares investment in 2008, I made a projection and hoping that in ten(10) years time, which happens to be this year, that it would have improved so that I'll sell all because I actually deliberately did not want to monitor the NSE all this while out of annoyance and to avoid unnecessary tension.

I didn't want to depend on information from my then stockbroker, because he knew that the NSE as at that time were projecting false and cosmetic values and he encouraged me to invest and lose my investment. I stumbled into this thread on nairaland this year when I wanted to know if the NSE has improved so that I can sell all.

Thanks for the advice. I'll closely monitor the market from now henceforth since we have a lot of gurus in the house.

Aside few people in this thread many of us were on the NSE pre-2007/2008 and also share the same experience as you. I still have plenty units of Multiverse Resources, Daar Communication, Beco Petroleum, Equity Assurance etc. in my portfolio as evidence that I fully participated in the 2007/8 madness.
I have counted my losses (NSE Tuition Fees according to Oga wanaj$$$) and moved on.

Mr Charles, also a market operator, said the downward trend would persist until after the primaries of the political parties.

Hmmmmn, na wa ooo. People have come and gone. I can still remember this oga Angelo then. He is always bluffing on how he has a lot of cash to average down not knowing that "the market can stay irrational longer than you can remain solvent"- Warren Buffet.
He has realized that, in NSE. “The older you get, the more quiet you become. NSE humbles you so deeply as you age. You realize how much nonsense you’ve wasted time on".- Modified quote of Vala Afshar.

What will pretending to master an obviously unstable market benefit me? I lose some, gain some; thanks to the January Bull but I am still a learner and trying to learn more.
So admitting to having to run out of the FO bus is because I am seeing similarity between FO devaluation and most of Jimoh Ibrahim's stocks; it only goes down the more so better to come down from the bus than reach the final bus stop and see that your stocks are already worthless.
Someone mentioned here that Femi Otedola has removed his money and hand from FO and I think he is correct.
My next target is Oando; counting my loss and running

Guess Mercy recovered some of her losses in FO via MMM she advertised on tissue thread thereafter. She is good at taking some risks. I hope and pray she survived the MMM liquidation.

It was real madness then. Good to know that you've counted your losses long ago.

I personally decided all this while not to ever invest in the NSE and was never interested to get info on stock, not until this year. I decided to move on this year. Every investments have their risk

The Irony is that people thought they got it cheap at that price considering that it had just fallen from the >#70 it hit the previous year on account of dividend and bonus largese.
NSE is really a funny place.

Very funny and unpredictable. I have come to learn that it profits more to do short-term investments than long term and be up-to-date.

Funny thing about NSE is that experience is the best teacher. No amount of warning will stop someone from making a mistake, until he has experienced the lesson. That's not bad at all, it only becomes a problem when you refuse to learn from your own mistake.

It's very important that:

1. You carefully review how you fell into a trap.
2. Make adjustments.
3. Come up with a plan that works for you (Based on who you are).
4. Stick to that plan (While making adjustments in order for it to be perfect).

Else, some of us that's complaining of our current situation will still find ourselves in same situation not long from now.
