P.S : the INZ said a thousand NZD is required for travellers who have not secured accommodation before travelling. Cheapest return ticket from naija to new Zealand is about 850k in naira. Then I need health insurance. Do I need to put all this money in my account before submitting statement? The total sum of the said money is going to around 2m ooo assuming am travelling for 3 months.

Its a 2 yrs work permit to new Zealand, and the processing time is 3 to 4 months.. After that duration and your visa doesn't come out a refund will be done... Like I said, I won't wanna involve anyone until mine is out, so its gonna be something that was taste and confirmed by me.. Won't want my name to be associated with fraud .. Thanks

whats your profession. 3k USD is equal about. 5k NZD at the moment. I dont think u can make that doing menial job after tax....dont be sold a false dream. NZ is great with grest life style but it comes with a price

firstly, which city are u looking to come to. I need to know this as accomodation and job differs.

About getting a job while on a visit visa , it’s not impossible as I believe not everybody in NZ have the right visa to be here or work legally... but u have to sort that out yourself...... but if u are very lucky to get a company that can sponsor u on an essential work visa. Which means ur visa depends on d job. And u can only work with that company.

Have in mind, that no agency will sponsor u. So it has to be directly with the company.... which is not impossible but might be difficult.... but everything is networking.

But I will advise u to rather come on a student visa, as this will allow u to work 20hrs a week and also give u a couple of post study work visa and u can go from there.
Visit or tourist visa is d worst anybody can travel with if u looking to settle down. Except u have someone on ground to help u

that’s enough as long as u can prove that d fund is available for ur use.... but if u can build it higher to be on d safer side....

Better to have it in ur account but not deposited in a lump sum..... u can read about this on other thread

Your encouragement would also go a long way in helping would be immigrants like us here in Nigeria.

Though I made some research about that such as the chambers of commerce, CBD etc, but you're there to guide us on how to get job quickly on a visit visa. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

CBD is good but I don’t know much about accomodation as most peeps around are student sharing flat. It’s more of a business and office area. And d common jobs around there is sales and construction as a lot of construction is going on there... U might be lucky to find something around there. Factories are more to the south and west of Auckland to my best of knowledge. And accomodation is a bit easier and cheaper in d suburb than in d city...u can easily connect CBD by train and buses...usually 5-6$.

Yes, it's okay to go on a visit visa. Research shows that 70% of jobs are awarded to potential employees in NZ. Give it a shot bro since you know someone who can provide you with an accommodation and can put you through on how to get top jobs quickly.
Get your statement of account and file your application as soon as possible.

When I came to NZ on a 9 month partnership visa, while I was waiting to get my work visa. I tried my best possible to get an under table job but couldn’t. The African community in my area tried their best too but nobody listened because it’s illegsl and dangerous for them too.... only an accredited employer can sponsor a potential employee on an essential skill. But before then, they have to prove to INZ that they have advertised the position severally and couldn’t find a local for the position.

If I wasn’t in Auckland, maybe I would have find a fruit picking job on the farms Even though they will pay u less and sometimes don’t pay u as they believe h can’t report them

Anyway I finally met a local business owner who was ready to sponsor after I worked for 10hrs without pay to prove myself. But luckily for me, my long awaited work permit came two days later. And I never return to him because it was a very hard landscaping job.

So what I’m trying to say is that the duration of ur visit visa also matters because they can only sponsor u while u have a valid visa.
It’s all depends on how much people u can connect with especially locals and willing to tell somebody that knows somebody.

African don’t own a lot of businesses here so it’s not as easy for blacks to connect with a potential employer as it may be for Indians and Asians that had flooded the country and businesses.

But since accomodation is sure from a friend, then u are safe on that side as u will have to cough out at least $180 weekly on rent and bills as a flat mate.
