Unfortunately Enugu state as a whole doesn't have a single flyover. After 100yrs of existence Enugu is still a backward town without a flyover but filled with poor people and poor economy. No flyover. Uwa ntoooooor. See more of Awka flyover. Ogbuefi2020:

Ogbuefi2020: mtcheeew. I don't have time to discuss with someone who doesn't know the difference between a bridge, a flyover and an interchange. 1 Like |
Re: . by Ogbuefi2020: 10:16pm On Sep 12, 2018 |
The term "Flyover" and "interchange" are self explanatory. In an interchange you can link between the lower and upper road using link road provided I.e you can "interchange" between the two roads. But in flyover, no link road is provided so you can't interchange, you must " flyover or fly under" Lol. 9th Mile is a good example |
Re: . by Chri08102702694: 10:19pm On Sep 12, 2018 |
See explanation..lol. You no get a single flyover nor interchange in ya state. No dey break ya head. Ndo oo. |
Re: . by Ogbuefi2020: 10:29pm On Sep 12, 2018 |
nnamdijonathan:We are talking highway engineering while you are talking layman understanding. Its not the span length that makes an overpass qualified to be a flyover. The span length of diamond interchanges can be long as it wants because the link road can be squeezed to run parallel to the overpass because of land constraints. This is why the diamond is suitable for City centers where an interchange was not initially planned before the place was built up. Eg. Nkpor, Awka, Abakaliki, Aba. But in Enugu the diamond interchange was built on virgin land before building up the area, therefore the link road was not squeezed to run parallel to the overpass but inclined at angle 45 degrees and under this condition the overpass cannot stretch beyond the road underneath 1 Like |

nnamdijonathan:Do you mind telling us how the mgidi jericho in Awka is different from your definition of a bridge earlier on |
Re: . by Chri08102702694: 10:38pm On Sep 12, 2018 |
nnamdijonathan: Hehehehe..he is a typical villager. They are mostly illiterates that doesn't know the difference between a bridge, flyover and interchange. The thing is paining him so much that they don't have a common flyover in their state. |

Cjrane2:That pic 2 is a diamond interchange same with Awka and nkpor. The only difference is that the minor road was on top and the connecting roads were spread out because it was built when the place was bush unlike nkpor built when everywhere is already built up and the connecting roads had to be squeezed parallel to the expressway |
