I read sociology and graduated with a 2.1 from Uniport but I never practiced it, instead I got into IT, first as a digital marketer then as a freelancer for two years now.

I have two issues,

1. I want to apply for the skilled worker program under social work which is a 189 and assessed by AASW. But I don't know what this requires or if my lack of experience in the field will be an issue.

2. I could also apply as a copywriter or technical writer but these are 190 and are hardly sponsored by any state. What would be the best process for me.

Hello, please have you gone through the assessing authority's website to ascertain the requirements for social worker. I don't know if experience is needed, but I want to believe it is very likely to be a requirement. This is one of the many disciplines with professional year and multiple internships in Australia.

I do not know much about these occupations you're seeking to nominate, but I'm sure members who know a thing or 2 about them will surely come to your aid with the right info.

I'm currently in clinical practice in one of the FMC's, but I'm considering migrating to Australia and I will like to practice in the academia (be a university lecturer) when I get there.

So I would like our brothers and sisters that have taken the route before to educate me on what will be required for me to be integrated into their system as a university lecturer.

I learnt that I will be reevaluated by their nursing council and be reissued a new license (which is normal)
But what will happen to my masters degree, will it be accepted?
What's the minimum requirement for lecturing job there?
Will my race (black race) be a constraint to this dream?

Just run from that social worker You won't get positive from them. Focus to tailor your experience to something else vetassess has multiple options

To address your concern, I have a bit of experience with the nursing thing, The main goal for you now is the get a positive skills assessment first. It's going to be hectic cos of different bodies involved. I think the first body you will need to deal with is AHPRA https://www.ahpra.gov.au/ The regulate licencing for Medical professionals. From my understanding, you need to get a principle letter from them or so, in that letter they will outline what you need to do to gain Australian Registration. You now have to take the letter and everything again to ANMAC https://www.anmac.org.au/ for skills Assessment. Positive from ANMAC you apply for PR, come here and do an IRON program or bridging----> Gain Australian registration. Work for a bit. apply for top jobs. IT CAN BE DONE
So you are looking at MENTAL health nursing. Write English first must be academic IELTS OR PTE 7 minimum in each band.
Once u gain registration and you have full working rights you will run from nursing jobs in this country, especially mental health. TOO MUCH WORK

I fear that I may be in a similar position. BSc Applied Microbiology and 10 years banking experience.

I'm torn between filling for 222311 (which currently best matches my job profile) and the Customer service manager. Does the inclusion of non-degree professional qualifications matter?

1. So if the degree is not highly relevant most time they will cut 2yrs post to give you a positive assessment. some cases are different but not with the jobs I have listed. so Degree no matter na work experience in this your case.

2. Just refrence letter from HR or your manager stating your details, employment date(s), roles, contact details etc.
