fendorf:Philippine route is the best bet for we Nigerians for now as India is beginning to do Nigerians 'shakara' for reasons best known to them. You send the Philippine embassy an email, they will reply with the application forms, download and fill the forms. do a police finger print clearance (u can do that at Alagbon in Lagos). Get to the embassy of the Philippine in Maitama, Abuja (relocated from Gwarinpa, now at Maitama) with the originals and photocopies of your ATT, Int'l passport, bank statement, hotel and flight reservations, and Passport photograph (photocopy not needed) on a convenient day for your brief visa interview but ensure u get to the embassy before 9am to avoid being rescheduled for another day. Visa fee is N15,000 plus. That's all! Note, others' inputs are welcome. All the best! 3 Likes |

Hello brothers and sisters, I'm a Nigeria trained nurse (BNSc, RN, RM, MNsc - Psychiatric Nursing) I'm currently in clinical practice in one of the FMC's, but I'm considering migrating to Australia and I will like to practice in the academia (be a university lecturer) when I get there. So I would like our brothers and sisters that have taken the route before to educate me on what will be required for me to be integrated into their system as a university lecturer. I learnt that I will be reevaluated by their nursing council and be reissued a new license (which is normal) But what will happen to my masters degree, will it be accepted? What's the minimum requirement for lecturing job there? Will my race (black race) be a constraint to this dream? Thanks for your time as I await your replies. 1 Like |

Hello Fam I am a new BNSc (RN) grad, currently undergoing the NYSC Am interested in working and relocating to Australia, Heard that one will need to do a 12-13weeks bridging program. My questions are: 1. Will it be possible for me to work while doing this program? 2. Which kind of visa will I apply for as I don't think I will be able to meet the PR cut off for now? 3. Is there any kind of arrangement for a job offer after the course that will enable me to stay further? Thanks in anticipations |

Hadewumi: They won't let you do the bridging course without work experience. you might want to do a Bsc to get registered here instead of 3yrs they uni will credit 1 or 1.5yrs. Studying here isn't cheap but once you finish it's worth it as a nurse you will get your money back what country did you do your bsc? 1 Like |

steakchips: Thanks for the reply I did my BSc in Nursing in a Nigerian university. And when I checked online, There was a list of country in which the nurses that studied there have no need for a bridging program and Nigeria was not there, And, based on the information's that have gotten from these forum and other sites, that if I apply to their nursing board for licensing as an internationally educated nurse (IEN) from Nigeria, I would not meet up, hence the need for the 3 months bridging program which would cover for the deficiencies in the courses taken and work experience. 4 weeks for theoretical and classroom work. 8 weeks for practical experience. I also heard that the minimum experience you will need is 6 month experience since you will do a bridging program, and I am hoping that my NYSC experience will be able to cover for that Pls correct me if I got it all wrong. Thanks |

Hello all, I am not a nurse but I have a sister who is a Nigerian trained nurse and she is attempting the IELTS again so as to move to the UK. In my research for what steps she would need to take after passing the IELTS, I discovered that the process has been made easy lately by most employers in the UK. Guess the impending brexit date is creating a huge shortage of nurses as most EU nurses are leavinh. They give a refund for the CBT, pay for your flight to the UK , provide accommodation for the first 2 months in some cases. For all nigerian trained nurses who are considering the UK, I would advice your scale your IELTS asap so you can easily start the process. Chiomajesus77: But this exam is an open book exam in the sense that you can use your phone to browse the Internet while you use another device perhaps your computer to write the exam at the same time time, so long as you can be fast enough, it's not something you need to spend 25 dollar for the course. Just read the material, then get 2 devices on your exam day. 2 Likes |
