If you have better defenders then your defence will improve.
People do not realize magnitude of the defect in the Liverpool side over the last few years with useless keepers and equally useless defenders.

Like I told Adisaowalla at the start of the season they upgraded significantly at GK and CB so they should be more competitive this season.

We only come out top on paper. Van dijk is better than all of our CB. Arnold offers way more defensively and offensively than Valencia. The only place we have edge over them is GK and they have a very good GK in Allison.

Our only advantage is at GK and Allison himself is no slouch. Van Dijk is a huge upgrade on our CBs, i will take Alexander-Arnold over Valencia who gets slower by the day and never had good crossing technique anyway, and even though Shaw has more talent than Robertson he is never fit.

Then you add a Liverpool midfield which presses continuously and serves as a buffer for the defence. They don't have slow or defensively ill-disciplined players in midfield.

I used to think that a solid midfield and relentless attack is what is doing the job, and that the team generally is more organized now.
