tbaba1234: Firstly we need to give the team kudos especially considering the number that failed the MRI scan just before the competition. The team looks good going forward but their defense was always suspect. Defense seems to be Manu's challenge as the 2013 U17 and 2015 U20 both had that challenge. Manu needs to fortify the team the more. If he could assemble this crop within 4-5 months, the CAF U17 is in May next year. That is more time to scout around. As we have only 18 Golden Eaglets players now. Now, there is still the MRI scare as another MRI will be done prior to the CAF U17 and another prior to the FIFA U17 WC. Recall in previous editions we participated some players failed the MRI just before the CAF U17 and some others that passed at the CAF U17 level still failed when the one for the FIFA U17 WC was done. The thing is the boys are still growing, from now to May next year some may have attained complete bone fusion and same goes for ahead of the WC proper. It means Manu will have to increase his number of players again. And that is still lots of work. The WAFU qualifiers, though not ideal, has served as an excellent exposure for these boys. If you ask me they are a potential World Champions. 6 Likes |

Icon4s:IMO WAFU should have been separate from qualifiers. Using this method now leave's a big space of idle time. I wonder if the NFF will keep them together until May next year or just wait like a month or a week till the competition. |

cc12: My dear, there is nothing like Osadebay. Only he knows why he spelt that name like that, maybe to make it sound un igbo as he already claimed that the man is an Edo man. E no concern me sha But Dennis Osadebe(God kept me) I know, as for Osadebay, it doesnt exist anywhere in this clime. 1 Like |

ChrisKels:lol....i didn't even notice he misspelt the name. Forgiveness, let Asaba people not catch you calling Osadebe an Edo man. A renowned musician of Igbo extract is who you want to dash to Edo people? Even with the coinage of Anioma, that term means "Good land" in Delta Igbo. Please, don't come and post guess work as facts o, some of us are closer than you think 5 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Definitely the team will need to go on a momentary break for another one or two months. The NFF may not be able to keep them in camp till May due to financial implications. But within this period Manu and his crew should go round various academies to recruit more players. MRI must be conducted on them right from that point. The team may later regroup later in the year for another round of screening this time with the newly identified players combined with old players. The team currently has 18 players but the squad must be grown to a minimum of 40 after the next screening. The NFF can intermittently organise a series of friendlies. Like 3 in a week once in a month to effectively maximise camping period and reduce cost. However, starting from 2months before the CAF tournament close camping begins. Plenty of work ahead for Manu and his crew. 3 Likes |

safarigirl: My dear leave shit for lawma. Dey claimed Dennis coined the name, they also claimed there was a Yoruba minority olukami But they didnt tell us why Dennis failed to add the village in the acronym to make it ANIOMAO. It di just a coincidence that the name Anioma corresponds with the collection of the first alphabets of the names of the villages that make up the town Anioma, otherwise what does the MA represent? All these yeye theories without fact are in a bid to discredit the name Anioma, just to make it a non igbo word as the Ikwerre people have suddenly named all their towns in the metropolis from the central igbo language UMU to now RUMU. Nwa to them is now Wa. Reason u see Wike instead of Nwike(powerful child) but as wise as the they are Ezenwo in s still Ezenwo, why not also omit that N in the middle to make it EZEWO instead? EZENWO NWIKE not Ezenwo Wike. It was and should be umuokoro(okoro's children) not RumuOkoro which of course, has no meaning 4 Likes |
