So your comment about me feeling that every seller don't like me is excessively exaggerated. demsid: How possible is this given all the testimonies about xiaomi phones ruggedness. Just an OTA update bricks a phone? This brings about several other questions begging for answers. Was your bootloader unlocked? Was the phone rooted? What root method did you use? Magisk or SuperSU Did you install custom recovery? TWRP or SuperSU Did you install any custom rom? Did you install any other custom tweaks or mods? Was your phone on official xiaomi rom or shop rom? Were you trying to move from global stable rom to developer rom or otherwise? And so much more other questions. |

fibonacci2526:exactly. He bought the phone when it had no global rom. He should have just requested the seller to leave the Chinese rom intact like that. I sold some pieces of 6pro and all are receiving their OTA updates without wahala (because the buyers were made to know that there was no global rom for it as at then and they are rocking their Chinese rom till now when global rom is available) some are even not planning to leave the Chinese rom sef. Some people will buzz you and tell you AliExpress sellers have global rom for phones that do not have official rom yet, when you try to let dem know the truth. But then, what do we know? |

demsid: Hence why you have done your research. People should take out time to read item description page as am 100% sure it would be stated there that the device doesn't support OTA as it is a custom ROM. |

@ Redmi 6 pro OP, your device is hard bricked and can only be flashed using MIflash too but only after full authorization to do so by LORD XIAOMI. I recently had my RN5 AI hard bricked after flashing a custom Rom despite following the rules. Thank God I'm outta that ordeal because it was a long and exhausting journey. To recover your device, first check what arb version your phone is, download the latest fastboot Rom for it too. Boot into EDL mode by using the test point method. (Lotta videos in YouTube showing how to do that.) Or try miracle box software with appropriate drivers to force EDL mode via software. Now the most daunting part...getting authorization to flash your device. Xiaomi recently took a draconian measure to secure their device by tripping an algorithm which bricks your device once you try to install a modified software or version different from that which your device is legally supposed to have. To make matters worse, they implemented a two step authentication process before allowing you restore the device. There's no way to flash the device using Miflash tool unless your account is authorized to do so. In my case, I contacted Lotta peeps in different forums and @ adamix here too. (Thanks once again @ adamix) Was lucky to get a dude on telegram who shared his authorized account details which allowed me recover the device. Good luck getting your device back as you'll need all the luck you can get. Cheers! |

georgee:Best method that worked for me without issues, boot your device to device to edl mode and flash, make sure you don't select clean and lock..i bought my device with china, i had "cust" issues using global recovery rom and fastboot rom in fastboot mode...use fastboot rom and boot to edl mode,flash and dont select clean and lock..... very important. |
