Congrats. Please can u share size and cost of the accommodation? [qquote author=Ayomiidele post=71234583]Since I have all the time in my hands waiting for my LO and in the spirit of giving back, I'll be sharing my experience. I arrived the dreaded Houston IAH 2 weeks ago with no issues with immigration and wasn't sent for secondary checking. The immigration officer even jokingly asked if I came in with gari, beans or egusi. I was just laughing thinking my Naija sisters don reach here. Kept my appointment at Dr X. Office the next day and paid his fees, epidural as well as hospital's fee. They don't give medal for pain so I came prepared for epidural. The accomodation I got is quite close to HNWMC and very comfortable. Mamas in the house, please from which store can I get bottle sterilizer with Nigerian voltage? I don't want to be using step down with it in Nigeria. [/quote] |

@Tiyanya Shine your eye! More often than not, if it seems too good to be true, then, it is too good to be true. Some of these ppl lure you with mouth watering deals and change it for you once you're in the US. Just be very very careful and don't be embarrassed to ask questions about anything you don't understand. 6k for an all inclusive deal in birth tourism of today is almost impossible. |

I have. Keep trying, the inbox typically fills up during holidays and weekends. They would take some time to clear it, hopefully before clob today. When sending your email, include your travel date and put it in capslock so it would be treated with priority. bubu18: |

@Tiyanya Are you sure you have read through all chats in this forum? If you did you will not ask or need to know about any birth consult. This forum is a DIY kind. No one will advice you to use them here. 1 Like |

I know it's DIY from visa and all, but I have a valid visa... This is the only aspect I need clarifications on and I don't think it's a crime I asked for opinions. Thanks baddo: |

Ayomiidele: You can buy any breastpump really. for e.g the medela what you do is go on Amazon and just order a UK plug for it. That's how I got to use mine in Nigeria without having to use any step-down with it. |

Hello all. Thot to share my POE experience at Atlanta. Haven't read anything negative abt Atlanta but still give glory to God for His favours. Flew Delta at 33 weeks. Arrived Atlanta and joined the queue for customs. Was directed to the automated passport control kiosk by the officer controlling the queue. After scanning my passport at the kiosk and getting my receipt, I joined the queue to the be stamped in. Queue moved very fast, I guess cos they didn't have to rescan. Got to the officer, male, after less than 10mins on the queue. Just standing beside a counter, no cubicle. Had my docs out. CBP: Hello, ma'am (stretching his hand out for my passport and receipt) Me: Hello (handing them to him) CBP: Where u going to? Me: El Paso CBP: What u going there for? Me: To have my baby CBP: Do u have any money with u? Me: Yes(Told him how much) CBP: U made any payments? (Sights my envelope) Let me have ur documents Me: Yes (hand over the docs) CBP: How much? (flipping thru the documents) Me: $5300 and some (leaning over to show him the negative invoice) CBP: Don't lean on the counter, ma'am. How did u pay ur bill? Me: Thru my husband's company CBP: Why wld ur husband's company pay ur bills? Me: Oh, no. My husband paid my bill, thru his company's contract with the bank CBP: What bank? (Still going thru the docs) Me: (Told him) CBP: Do u have any food items with u? Me: (Listed them out, mentioned chopped vegetables) CBP: What kind of chopped vegetables? Me: Uziza. Its a local vegetable (cos he looked confused) CBP: Do u have kilishi, gala or....(trying to remember) Me: (being helpful) chicken noodles? CBP: Yes, that Me: No, none of those CBP: (Stamps my passport) Enjoy ur stay, ma'am. Went to baggage claim, picked up a trolley and had an airport staff lift my bags into them. On my way to connecting flights, another officer, female, stops me: CBP: Can I see ur passport, ma'am? Me: (Hand it over to her) CBP: Where u going to? Me: El Paso CBP: How long u staying for? Me: 14 weeks CBP: Why wld u be there that long? Me: I'm here to have my baby. CBP: (hands back my passport) Good luck ma'am I drop off my bags and head to the security checks. Was already feeling tired at this point. Sent my stuff thru the conveyor. Went into the scanner. Totally forgot the controversy on whether a pregnant woman should scan or not. Took the pose and dozed off in the scanner. Next thing I heard was, 'Ma'am, come on out ma'am'. I turned and started laughing. The guy was like, 'Its ok, ma'am. I know u done fall asleep in there.' I was still laughing when I got to the conveyor to pick up my stuff. The officer there must have seen what happened. Officer: I guess ure really tired (smiling) Me: Very tired (smiling back) Officer: How many? Me: Just 1(I thot he meant how many babies. Lol) Officer: 1 month? Me: Oh (laughing). 8 months Officer: (Laughing) Of course it can't be 1 month! U picked a name? Me: Yes. Told him. Officer: (nodding) Good name. Good luck, ma'am. Me: Thank u (smiling at him) Went on to check the gate for my connecting flight to El Paso. 13 Likes |
