primeson1:I used wind/freedom for my first 6months or so in Canada. Freedom has a sketchy network. Sometimes your calls would go straight to voicemail without ringing or start roaming for no reason. Also the reception is very poor in some parts of most cities or when you approach the outskirts or new development areas in cities. I would rather pay a little more for virgin, koodo or fido which all falls in the price range I quoted. 11 Likes 8 Shares |

Pipes1759: Congrats on your landing. I will be landing in Edmonton by month end via Ethiopian Airline... Please, how much did you pay for bag upgrades? What kg was the upgrade to? We'll be 2 adults, 2 infants, I believe we will be entitled to 6 bags of 23kg, is this correct? Thanks. Congratulations once again on your successful landing. 1 Like |

Greetings landed seniors, please i want to know the pros and cons of renting a basement apartment. From my search, basement apartments are more likely to have utilities included in the rent and that is what i am looking for, but the Nigerian in me is wondering how i will live underground. I have a 3 year old son and that is another reason i am thinking it might not be such a great idea. Please someone should share their thoughts let this not be a penny wise pound foolish move for me. 2 Likes |

Sandydav: Basement apartments are usually cheaper, but a few drawbacks are; - They usually have lower ceilings - They sometimes have no windows. Or if they do have a window, its usually small - The rooms are very cold in the winter (hot air rises) However, you may find a basement apartment that is very well kept and does not conform to any of the demerits listed above. Basically, what this means is, under no circumstance should you sign a lease for a basement apartment if you haven't physically been in the room to inspect it. Cos the online pictures can be misleading. 14 Likes 4 Shares |
