I agree that even when an elderly person slaps you, you need to show respect and self control yourself but brother if the person decides not to show self control and retaliates, he/she is not to be questioned sef talkless of fought. My mother cannot strike my wife, if she does then, I will have to punish her, and apease my wife, if it were another person's mom, I will retaliate ASAP and very violently.

The option of "whether or not you can slap your own mom" does not apply here, you slap my mom, I will take off my self control jacket and swing you blows however it hits you with maximum damage. after that you will fear to slap any other creature be it animal.

That a woman slapped your mom isn't an excuse for you to assault her because it's inadmissible in a reputable court of law.

You've no right to hit anybody whether man or woman as long as they didn't hit you first or doesn't pose any serious physical danger to you. She slapped your mom not you, therefore it's either your mom assault her in return or your mum sues her for physical assault.

I’ve said my peace, this is my own point of view. I can’t imagine my Mum slapping my Wife but if it does happen Heaven knows she’s gonna get more than she bargained for.

My question to you is; If your mother slaps your husband and he slaps her back what would you do? Now your answer is your point of view and I respect it even if it’s different from mine.

I can always have another Wife but I only have one Mother and I’ll always be biased in favor of my mother.
