These are the five Muslim girls, including the Assistant Head girl, who were given letter of suspension by their principal, Mrs J.O. Sadare, for wearing Hijab to Isolo Senior Secondary School.

No fewer than 5 girls including the Assistant Head girl were given letter of suspension for wearing Hijab in school.

The new principal Mrs JO Sadare made it clear that she would not permit the Hijab to be worn in the school, despite the fact that the students has been doing so for more than two years.

The subsisting Judgment of the Court of Appeal in the case of Asiyat Abdulkareem vs LASG stated unequivocally that to wear Hijab by students whether within or outside the school was a Fundamental Human Right entrenched in the constitution.

Mrs Sadare is asking Muslim girls to choose between their religion and getting an education! And she is infringing on the Fundamental Rights of these students.

We are employing all legal and peaceful means to uphold the rights of our children. We implore all well meaning Lagosians, Nigerians and citizens of conscience to support us.

We'll keep you updated as soon as we have more.

Thank you.

Here we go again.....
This issue is very simple, the students should be allowed to wear their hijab since there is a subsisting and valid Appeal Court Judgment allowing hijab. I understand the view of the principal as I don’t like the fact that Muslims will want to put on hijab in a school funded with the tax dollars of Christians, Muslims and traditionalists. I personally wouldn’t want my children in a class with any girl putting on hijab, it is a security issue given the actions of terrorists professing Islam but what can we do when the Muslims insist on putting on the head scarf?

In the circumstance, I would advice Christian parents who are worried about the safety of their kids to save hard and try and enrol their kids in strictly Christian or secular schools where hijab will be prohibited. That is what I do if I were a parent. For now, muslims are allowed by law to put on their heads scarfs. We should move on to other things and not give that terrorist organization called MURIC the sounding board to espouse their fundamentalist BS!

This issue should be resolved fast and not used by bigots to garner sympathy and votes from their base.

Its demeaning and complex when Nigerians/Africans print banners/adverts using caucasians only without blacks.

this is a secular state , hence religion and education should be seperated, if they cannot follow the rules, they should go to muslim owned schools.

Sigh. Here we go again. Something tells me that MOOslimes have cooked up this ludicrous story just to stir up mischief as is their usual fashion. The kind of hallucination that headslamming induces no be for this world.
Meanwhile, Christians are not even raising hell over Leah Sharibu who has been kidnapped and forced to wear a S-HIT-JAB against her will.
Let's just divide this country in half and let the MOOslimes live in their own half and govern themselves as they like. We all know how good they are at developing themselves.

i can only support this if its a private school.

but even at that, they will force christians to wear hijab or cover their hair by force at any government parastatals in the north. even in secondary schools, christians are forced to cover there hair against their wish. you can imagine christians not having break during easther period.

i have a lecturer who stipulated it as a rule that all hair must be covered in his class regardless of your religion. i made sure his idiotic brain was dragged to the school authorities by simply not complying.

but as i said, i can only support this if its a private school.

The Lagos state government is yet to issue an ethical dress code guideline based on that appeal and I think they are preparing to appeal to the supreme court.

Government schools are supposed to be secular schools unless they were mission schools before taking over. They can wear hijab in their houses or to the market. The schools should have a uniform I dunno where and how Hijab is part of a uniform.

In a society where islam is the ruling party there are no minority rights but when muslims find themselves outside their territory they are obsessed with minority rights. fvcking self righteous hypocritic religion

just like these Muslims demand for right to freely practice their inventions in other peoples society without being harassed or judged is the same way i'd love to see women in bikini walking down the streets of saudi arabia or sharia societies without being harassed.

Don’t force religious beliefs on children like hijab or forcing them to fast. Let them make that decision at 18. Little kids do not need to be wearing Hijab. Let them be children.

They deliberately break laws and cause trouble everywhere they go. The school get dress code, if you cannot adhere, you leave and go study in your mosque.

Always causing trouble.

Hope you Muslims wear your hijab in the shower?
