I noticed that my 2007 Passat suddenly started showing an ECP light followed by a blink of the engine warning light .Now the light is steady and won't go off. The car jerks too especially when on drive but stationary . Now the car gulps fuel like a thirsty laborer . Any fix for this? What could be the cause ?

TAKE IT FOR A SCAN

A sign of misfire. Have it scanned to know which cylinder is misfiring

I just hope it's not the beginning of bigger problems. If you cut corners on the fixing of that volks, you will regret ever buying it. Scan is a must and use a competent mechanic.

thanks . Scan was done and the vacuum pump was the culprit. Fixed and the baby is very smooth
