An agent advised not to call UKVI for any enquiries on your application status because that could make them feel one is desperate to travel to the UK. I don't know how true that is.

Zero truth in that

Here is my transcript below;

*Biometric and interview on Tuesday 28th September!
*visa application sent to the Decision Making Centre for processing on the same date 28th September, 2018.
*online application received at the UK Decision Making Centre on September 1st.
*Decision was made and passport is ready for collection at the TLScontact on the same date 19th of September.

Now to the interview questions;
*can you confirm your date of birth and nationality please?
*can you confirm your course start date and what course are you studying?
*why this course?
*what school and why this school?
Lastly, why the Uk?

This interview wasn’t up to 5minutes which got me so worried because every other people that has been going in use nothing but like 15/17 minutes.

No @justin86! I've never been refused Visa in the UK Embassy. This is my 1st time applying for a UK visa. But I was turned down at the US embassy last year August when I applied for a UN youth program. I wasn't given the visa because I once had an American Immigrant Visa some years ago (i.e a greencard), I lived in the US and had my elementary education in the US and returned back to Nigeria because of some reasons. So the US consular told me at the embassy that I'm ineligible for this class of visa (i.e non-immigrant Visa) that I applied for. He said I should go and look for a way to renew my greencard or re-file again. And that is not a REFUSAL. AND I'm pretty sure that can not have any effect on this my current Tier 4 visa application.
And did you consider the priority option to fast track your application processing?

Congrats @olashubomi1!!! Were you interviewed at TLSconnect, ikeja? If yes, I'm sure it's the first booth that you did your interview. Right? The interviewer is one white and chubby woman. Right? If it's that booth, I noticed the woman doesn't waste one's time, she repeats the same set of questions to every applicant and the duration is usually less than 5min. I was interviewed in the 1st booth by this white chubby woman and she asked the same set of questions you mentioned in your post and I spent less than 5min. Unlike the second interview booth, I heard it is a slim white guy that interviews applicants and he asks a whole lot of questions. My cousin was interviewed in the second booth by the slim white dude in the last week of August, 2018 and he asked my cousin a hell of questions and spent about 15min in the booth. But my cousin was courageous and bold enough to answer all and he got his visa and currently in the UK now. Anyway, congratulations one more time and I hope we that are still in the line to get our Visas get it ASAP so we can also share our testimonies. Because this long waiting on a visa approval is really killing wink

@walefale.I think that is the cause of the delay. I was also refused u.s visa before. I heard that when you've had sich issue they will see it as not been straightforward and might take more time to ve processed. @Justin86: nah! I don't think so. I completely disagree. Your visa refusal in the US embassy has nothing to do with your ongoing Tier 4 visa application if it's not stated in your Tier 4 application. That would only affect your application if and only if the refusal is from a sister country to England. For instance: having a Canadian visa refusal could affect one's US visa application or vice versa, having a Scottish or any of the European's countries visa refusal could also affect one's UK visa application. NOT US visa refusal to UK visa application unless you stated it in tier 4 application. As for me, I wasn't refused. I was only advised on what to do at the US embassy on my Immigrant Visa situation.
Someone told me the prime reason for this delay is because this is a peak period for them at TLS and UKVI. A large number of applications are been submitted these days especially Tier 4 application. A lot of students are trying to go to the UK this September and October to study. I even heard over 70 applicants were at the gate of TLSconnect last week Thursday and Friday for biometric/interview. Unlike when I went for my appointment on the 10th of September, we were less than 12 applicants. A close buddy of mine that even chose the Super-Priority option on Tuesday, 18th of September, she's yet to hear from them till now. And you know Super-Priority option is meant to be 24-48hrs but today makes it the 3rd day. She's hoping to hear from them today.
Well, let's hope for the best today or Monday. I have a strong belief that we should hear from them soon.

I submitted my visa application on the 23rd of August, using the standard service and I am yet to receive an update from TLS. I called UKVI and they said a decision has been reached as regards my application. I am supposed to resume on the 24th September and I am anxiously waiting for my passport. Your case seems similar, have you gotten your visa?

Okay @Orly! From the look of things, it seems the delay is general on most applications for now. A friend of mine that chose the Super-Priority option even got a day delay too. Since you've confirmed that the decision has been reached, you should hear from them anytime btw Monday and Tuesday. I'd advise you to inform the skool and make them understand the delay situation. Good luck!

Just one advice! I am 99% sure your passport is at TLS office. It takes UKVI less than or about 24hours to dispatch your passport back to TLS after a decision has been made. If you wanna keep waiting for mail, that's not bad.. if not, go there and demand they check! Threaten to report to UKVI..

From experience..

Please house, The Nairalander that got admission for a PhD. What steps did you take after receiving a conditional offer from the university. I got a conditional offer for a PhD at the University of Aberdeen to submit proof of funding or 34% tuition fee. If i pay the 34% tuition fee , am i to have the remaining tuition fee for 3 years in my account to show the Embassy plus the maintenance fee or am i to show tuition fee just for one academic year plus maintenance fee of £6000 for 28 days. I am a bit confused. Secondly, can a family member write proof of funding for me to get a CAS or must it be a government agency? I want to be sure I could get the VISA before I start my application. I only have the money for an academic year. What do you suggest?

Thank God for a successful visa application because it felt like it was taking forever. My study starts on October 1st.

Please who is going to Cranfield or Milton Keynes area? Need help with accommodation for the first few days.
Can I get the steps you took to get the VISA including the amount I must have because i just got an unconditional offer for a PhD and I want to be sure i am qualified to get the VISA before i apply. Thank you in advance
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Zoey1: 12:52pm On Sep 22, 2018
1. After paying 34%, you must have in your acct for 28days, remainder of Tuition (1yr) +maintainance.
2. Only an International company can act as Sponsor, has presence in two or more countries including physical offices/address.
3. Not Government agency Federal or State Government. LASTMA, FIRS,Ministry of Education etc are Govt agencies but UKVI won't allow such agencies except they are sponsoring a staff.

That section of your post is misleading, to start with..there is nothing like Scottish visa and yes US visa refusal may affect your UK visa application if you lied about the refusal or the refusal was as a result of fraudulent activity.

Zoey1:
Goodmorning everyone.
Please I need clarification on these points and I will appreciate your contribution.
1. The question that asked if one has ever worked for media
- I was an undergraduate intern for a Television/Radio house, presented programmes but was not a staff, was not paid. Should I answer Yes or No?
2. I did free lance jobs for a couple of magazines, was not a staff nor paid. My payment was from interviews made by me for them.
3. I have had study gap of about 6-7 years, though I applied for study to A Canadian School in 2012, didn't process visa application bcs my Nigerian Uni sent Transscripts late and my admission letter from Canadian schl got to me late.
In 2014, I got automatic admission and letter but still didn't apply for visa bcs I wanted a career change as I had been involved in some advocacy and that school does not offer my intended course.
So can I add these "Admission Letters + Cover Letter" to show intent of study progression?
Thanks

1. It's always good to be honest in your visa application and keep your records clean, just as you explained here that you did an intern during your undergraduate and your free lance job for a magazine company..do the same in your visa application using the space provided in the form.

3. Regarding the 6-7 gap, you need to explain what you were doing during those years, that's better than saying nothing at all
