Good morning, nairalanders, a friend received a full-time job offer (arranged) from Calgary in Alberta. He is aware of the LMIA and work permit. My question is this should he, after getting a positive LMIA and obtaining a work permit, apply for a TRV or apply for PNP to Alberta? Please, i need an urgent response this.
Which route is best for him?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018: 12:17pm On Sep 21, 2018
Work permit allows him allows him to travel and work. He can then do ielts/celpip, get his eca done and apply through express entry.

Good morning people. Want to ask for a friend.... She has NCE (3 years) and B.Ed (2 years). Can she use this to claim 2 or more certificates? If yes, which evaluating body is advisable to use?
Yes, this should give her 2 or more certificates.
She can use any evaluating body, any of them shd give her same report...U can read page 1 to see comparisons between the different evaluating bodies...I personally will go with WES.

Two different cases... My response is specifically for Feezel's case. When is your AOR?
wenks:
What you have said may be the case in this scenario. But I know two persons including myself who got UCI updates since August 30 without MEP even till now and no Schedule A form has been requested.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by smslive2: 12:55pm On Sep 21, 2018
The update you got is for the biometrics...
HRgirl:
Hello all

Please i want to ask what this ghost update is like. I got a mail that my account has been updated but didn’t see any change there other than the med passed and biometrics completed which i had seen already the day before. Is that the ghost update?

And again, please where will i see that IP2 update i keep reading about on my status? Sorry if i sound naive.

Wow, 100 days! I told you you are almost there!

BTW, how did you count your post-AOR days? Did you include or exclude weekends and public holidays in Canada?

I 've always been curious to know how folks here count this "post-AOR" days.

So sorry about this. Imo, it's always better to pick up a new exam date as soon as possible as you'd still have the residual knowledge from the previous test, for the modules you aced, that way you can face the section that's more challenging. For me, it was 2weeks interval initially, infact for the one that eventually liberated me, I booked it the next day after writing the previous test! grin ] you'd become so good with each test that you'd pretty much predict the outcome even before the results are released. All the best!

For biometric enrollment, if you’re like me that’s working, please don’t go from work thinking you will be done in an hour. I left from work, to meet my 12pm appointment thinking it won’t take more than an hour as I was told.

I had to leave and return to the office because my number is 196, and as at when I was leaving they just called 140 to the counter. They don’t have lots of people capturing, and then I will have had to wait for same number of people called before me to capture, before it got to my turn.

So my advice, please take a day off from work, don’t assume it’s something you’ll breeze in and get done with.

The anger in my heart eh, the money I spent on cab now to and fro wasted.

Good advice at bold parts above.

Waiting till next year to retake? wrong decision (barring financial constraints)

Give yourself 3-4 weeks of re-strategizing time to take a very deep and objective look/practice of your weak areas and re-fire!!

As @cutieplum posited, "you'd become so good with each test that you'd pretty much predict the outcome even before the results are released"

Oh boy! Am here too..was just about coming here to rant and saw your post. Aswear it's best to get out of this country! Nothing works! This is my third time here. Yesterday, was here all day and guess what? They claim their 'Network' was down all through!!! Today, the queue is so long still only two counters functioning. It's so disheartening.

This advice is specifically for Lagos people. With Abuja VFS, one hour off work should be sufficient.

But what if one gets there by 6.30am or 7am? Wont the person be done within two to four hours?
