emenike have done his bit and had a good career for himself. he made a name for himself from the turkish 2nd tier in the colors of karabukspor where he powered them to the turkish top flight and did so well the next season which earned him a move to fenebahche. he was a standout player in the turkish league and russia for spartak moscow before his decline. so atleast he had good footballing years to look back at and also made good cash.

why didn't the likes of egwuekwe, oboabona, kwambe etc get the attention of any decent club after all the hype of winning the afcon 2013?

Emenike had an average career. Take away the AFCON and golden boot he is a nobody.

Earlier this week I reported this guy's improvement here but Southgate and his ally, Giwa went berserk questioning the rationale behind the report, just because the guy aint Iorfa

Firstly, just from experience what do you expect Chelsea to say he is their player of course they have to put in a good word.

Nobody went berserk, just pointed out he was not that good, and that was by a few others including myself.

do you know they were rumors that odey faked his age which almost hindered his move to switzerland?

What Nigerian doesn't have that hanging over their head? I do know that Rohr made the phone call that got his transfer over line even when a player in Europe had his stopped for the same exact offense. This is a raw diamond that was found in the league and he is showing promise already. My brother they don't find diamonds everywhere, I do not agree with a quota but I never want the door to be completely shut. Players like Mikel, Omerou, Musa, Shehu and Etebo can still be found in our league. If as of now nobody is good enough for the SE then fine but that doesn't mean that it will be like that forever.

He helped his club to the top flight in Turkey. Abi didn't u put gaining promotion as Emenike's accomplishment?

Take away the 5 goals in 6 matches and AFCON trophy from Emenike u will have an average 4 in 31 striker.

gbam! now you are making sense. as for now i don't see any talent in the local league currently that have wowed me to an extend of deserving a call up. the sentiment of calling up 2 or 3 local based lads when ever the team gather for an assignment at the expense of better professionals doing well in decent leagues in europe is a no no for me.

the super eagles is meant for the best we can boast of and not an avenue for experiment or route to sell players to foreign clubs as the case was before.

hahahahahahahahahaha do you knowhow many goals emenike scored the season karabukspor gained promotion to the turkish league? that same season he was the overall best player in the turkish 2nd tier and highest goal scorer as well.

if mba was vital to his clubs promotion why were he sold after the club got promoted?

As much as I dont like Iorfa and his dad's earlier gimmicks, I still like that boy and I expected a lot from him. What the heck is going on wt Dom? He doesn't even have a squad number and no club looked his way this past window. Imagine a half fit Odubajo was able to land a job. Even Phil Owusu Aye who was frozen out same time as Dom, was able to leave Wolves for a German club while my Idoma boy is still stuck in there, playing for neither the first team nor the reserves. It is painful

If it is about money then they all made money or did u hear them begging money from anybody? Since 2015 I don't think Emenike has scored 10 goals club and country. So if I am to get u right, we should only invite players who have bright futures(since we are God that know tomorrow grin) I guess football matches are decided by how good u will be in the future. Wehdone sir!

You have made the assumption implying that they are of unquestionable integrity and will never be involved in anything corrupt.

Football in England is intrinsically cleanly and corporately corrupt. If not for the indictments by the US justice department we may not have known the depth of corruption in FIFA.

This being the case , what do you think is going on in the NFF, Sunday school ethics.

I never made that assumption. Did I not say there is no perfect society anywhere? YOU CANNOT 100% STAMP OUT CORRUPTION IN ANY SYSTEM CONTROLED BY HUMANS!

If you find yourself in any system, you just try as much as possible to play your role and pass over to next man who may not do justice as much as you have done from your own part. But what can you do?

We know there is corruption in the NFF, we also know there are some elements of corruption in the Super Eagles coaching crew. But like I said it is everywhere in the world. You cannot sit and what you do all day is accuse the NFF and Nigeria of being corrupt. The only thing a player can do is to beat the system. If you are exceptional u do not need to give bribes to any coach for you to be invited because every coach wants to achieve results. This is the same mindset those of us that are courageous enough to remain in Nigeria and earn a living have developed. Man -no- Man or not you can still beat the system and achieve your set goals and target.

even the current players from the local clubs they tend to run off to obscure leagues in asia, europe and africa because that's the best offer they got. our local academy players are highly thought of by foreign scouts than those old men who claim to be 21-22 yrs old but have played over 7 seasons bpth in the nationwide league and npfl.

Academy players do fake their age too cool

Ebere Eze is turning heads for QPR in the Sky Bet Championship. How good is he? What's he like to work with? How does he compare to Raheem Sterling? We get the inside track from former assistant manager Marc Bircham...

"He goes past players easier than Raheem Sterling did. Sterling would beat players with pace or do a trick or a chop - it's all dynamic movements, but Ebere Eze just glides past players."

Marc Bircham knows a talent when he sees one.

The former QPR assistant manager and youth team coach was part of the set-up that helped bring Sterling through the ranks in west London. However, Sterling never made a first-team appearance for the R's as Liverpool swooped when he was just 15-years-old. The rest is history.

However, after decades of neglecting the option of youth - in 15 years QPR only produced Richard Langley, Marcus Bean and Sterling - there is a new-found willingness up west to give youth a chance.

And some of the kids are alright.

At the forefront of this crop is Eberechi Eze - a unique playmaking talent that was discarded by Millwall at 18 years old. He was deemed a luxury by the Lions but QPR have embraced his talents.

This is a club that relishes and understands the patience required when watching a maverick at work. Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh, Roy Wegerle and Adel Taarabt all were indulged at Loftus Road. They sparkled on that stage.

He’s exciting when he gets the ball. As he’s both footed, he can go both ways past people.

Bircham on Eze

Eze has the same eye for finding space in the pocket as the four above.

The 20-year-old has started every game for QPR this season, scoring his third goal of the campaign against his former employers Millwall on Wednesday night.

Playing just off the lone striker, Eze was the link man for everything positive QPR conjured up in their comfortable 2-0 victory. He got his goal and produced some inventive passing, including a mesmerising back-heel that sent Massimo Luongo through one-on-one. He's doing the sacred QPR No 10 shirt proud.

It was his second man-of-the-match display in four days following on from his classy showing in the 2-1 win at Bolton, where he netted a fine left-footed strike.

He'll be looking to make it three-from-three when QPR host Norwich on Saturday, live on Sky Sports at 5.15pm.
