NO wonder Ambode moved LASG account to Access bank....Some of us saw this coming...Its end of the road for Skye bank...so sad!

But what i find very disheartening is the fact that, the shareholders/directors who crippled this bank are still walking free in the country. In a sane clime, they would have been jailed by now. The new management appointed by CBN also refused to be aggressive and brutal in going after properties of these crooks for recovery of the delinquent debts. Of course, it would have serve as deterrent to other directors who think they can run a bank aground and nothing will happen.

It doesn't affect accounts held in the bank. Its only the shareholders that lost. Its Govt's gain since the will soon sell the bank (to themselves) and pocket the money.

Nothing will happen to accounts in skye bank. For them, its only a name change. Na shareholders go suffer.

Why diamond when wema is still there ? Abeg make understand oo..

Love your question, please note that wema is own by the SW States just as unity bank is owned by the northern States and they will do anything to ensure nothing happens to their bank. The duo would have gone long a go under sanusi as CBN gv but diamond is perceived to be owned by individual and other share holders who are not core owners. Just my thought though

Why are you hastily trying to discourage people cool

So is bad to say it as it is?

Lol. Thanks for watching my back. What I have in Skye is not something i cannot forfeit should it get to that stage. Mpeace, thank you too.

I mentioned somewhere here that i sold my skye shares already and waiting for another round trip. Though I later bought just very small units (when there was price resistance at 64k) with the intention to buying more when the price goes down again.

However, before anyone quickly laughs or accuses, they should know that this goes beyond just "thank goodness I'm not in Skye" but rather a reflection of many ills going on in the system. If they should open the 'yansh' of some banks window-dressing reports, the findings might be shocking to many.

I was just not happy about the way CBN went about all these acquisition of a thing when they were also not transparent with the whole process and they have their hands soiled as well.

These puzzle questions still remains: Why did the CBN-appointed management failed to go after the properties of those that ran the bank aground with ridiculous unpaid loans? Are those people also bigger than CBN? Why was the intervention fund CBN gave not been monitored? Why did CBN covered the mess up till this point? Now another billions injection into a bridge bank

Like I said before, there's more to this and these guys were not telling us everything.

Discouragement should not be done hastily.

For those trapped in Skye, sorry. The lesson here is never invest where there is no result.
For Morgan capital customers,.no need to panic, i am sure that's not the only account they use to transact. If you don't feel safe, you may move your shares to another stock broking house seamlessly.

Really these questions hit the core of the rot existing in the whole CBN-SKYE romance. The most annoying one is why did they insinuate that they were working to release outstanding financial results? From this whole saga, shareholders are at risk from all angles:

-Risk from management of coy
-Risk from fellow shareholders
-Risk from MM
-Risk from government
-Risk from regulatory bodies.

Now the big question is why would I want to leave my money indefinitely in a stock with all these crocodiles?

The funny thing is that I took a trip round my area in Alimosho, Lagos this morning to Skye Bank branches to get the mood, the places I visited had their ATMs no dispensing cash. I am planning to do another check by 11am today to see if the ATMs have been loaded.

Though customers money is safe, the new management will surely want to restrict panic withdrawals which are natural in this case.

Do you need to visit ATM's before getting your cash? The very serious ones initiated transfers yesterday pending when the picture gets clearer. My friends still having some cash there are the ones that exceeded daily transfer limit. One was awake till 12am before he initiated the 2nd batch. So I was told, I wasn't with either of them.

But I think depositors money are safe! People might panic though but it's a normal reaction in this clime.

Na you understand my motive bro. I don't bank with Skye Bank. Even my holdings in the bank were offloaded this week when I got the signal to selloff.

My trip was only to see the mood. I will even repeat it on Monday, when full banking operations are expected to resume.

Common sense that is not so common should tell those in Unity Bank to be out now while they can. But as usual.....vendors of hope will come up with reasons why they should not. This Bank has some quarters of financial result still undeclared. Just go and look in a mirror and converse with yourself on the wisdom of retaining this bank stock in your portfolio.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by dipoolowoo: 11:18am On Sep 22, 2018
You are very correct. In fact, any company defaulting in filing results for two years above should be avoided like a plague.

I just hope Diamond Bank, Union Bank and Fidelity Bank will not end this way. Tier-1 banks are still the best to invest in.
