Me and one of my riders slept in the car last nite. So epic!

From lekki to somewhere around diamond estate, igando.
Left around 9.03pm, ETA was around 85mins. But rider insist we go through oshodi then ejigbo....
Na there we spend d nite till about 11pm for traffic amd large pool of water.
I don kuku call my bro for igando say i go crash there....
Got to destination some minutes before 12am.
Rider requested for account details before we got there.
Now, she just got down from d car, claimed she had sent me 6k, now i should take her manager (second rider) to cement busstop den end the trip. Wtf! Which kain yeye arrangements be this?

Ok. Make we take am do late night waka. Its Saturday anyways.
Fare was 5400. My preferred route would hv been 4k max.

Before i realized, she had opened the gate and went straight upstairs.
She didn't show me debit alert on her phone.
She didn't show me transfer successful thing.
Nothing, she just went like that.

Ok oga ur client don go leave us, but lets wait for alert before i leave here.
Rider; no she must hav sent it, let be going
Me: nope, lets wait for alert first. Or do u have the cash just in case...
Rider; no, but i believe she sent it.
Me: ok call her to come down and show me at least d debit alert i will move this car.

We called and she claimed its d network and she can't resend it. I will get it bla bla bla
Me: (we die here)
Oga we will move wen the alert enters. But i beliv she didn't send anything.

All this while i was refreshing my GtB app and yahoo mail. Nothing.
Same time 2 different request were hitting my phone.
One was going to fela shrine, the oda was going to oba akran.
They kept calling, cancelling and re requesting. I was the only driver there 4 sure.

1am.

Rider: oga just take me to my house we can sort it in the morning, or i give u what i have...
Me; broz if u can transfer the cash to me now, we will move now. If i later see hers i will tranfer back.
Rider: i dont have up to that....

Estates security men came with their dane guns, ask questions and left.

I put off engine, wind window down, plenty mosquitoes joined us. Rider stretch flat at back seat and slept off.

YouTube till 2am
Slept off till 4am. Woke and continued

Rider woke 6.30..
Rider: bros can i go now, lemme go get bus to my house...
Me: ok, i will wait for ur madam.

7am
Rider came out, so ugly jeez.
(How d hell did she grab a rich white man)

Started showing me pix, bringing up gist, apologising...
I was just using nose to answer. One loud voice in me wanted to say; pay me my money!.

I just kept calm.
She said her brother will send me the money now.
3mins later.
Alert... 9k
She said 3k+ is for the stress.
Me: thank you (wicked thing)...

Happy sunday jare

Chai! Sorry o. At least she left a pain and suffering fee...?

No I don't.. I just have to visit uber offices and ask if they have an API.. I will integrate it with the tracker....

In the hybrid application I will create, I will permit a margin of error of 5km...

Anything thing beyond 5km is definitely offline jobs

That's a wrong perception. In the evenings on weekdays, if I carry a rider from the island to anywhere on the mainland, am blowing back empty to the island to carry another rider., that's about 25km. How do you reconcile that.

A driver can drive for long distance looking for trip.

That's y I said it will be commission based....we will share the pains and gains together. Meanwhile, we will only be sharing net profit...

So lemme understand what you mean by net profit. Assuming this is my work for the week.
You'll give me fuel 20k, toll 5k, how do you calculate your net profit.

Its easy... Subtract fuel ,toll, maintenance (if any), premium (if monthly) and whatever miscellaneous expenditure that came up for the month.

What is left is net profit...

That's what we will share

Phranex,

I understand your point of view but trust me, looking for ways to break-even within a short period of time isn't feasible regardless of the way u deem it fit.
With your analogy, you will end up shooting yourself.
There is no way you can checkmate or tick all boxes, ehailing favors car owners who drives on the platform and the driver to an extent, but for an investor, you get to be patient and the patience I am talking about isnt going to run for a year but two or more.

Talking about bin incharge of fuelling the vehicle, how would u feel when your driver calls u every now and then for fuel,
Let's say he is on a trip and fuel gets to reserve, he tops up with 3k and tells u he bought 4k fuel, how do u checkmate that, ohhhh I guess, u will also request for invoice, invoice can also be doctored.
You recharge his line with 500 naira airtime, a certain fraction of the airtime is used to call his chick, friends or whosoever comes to mind... He runs out of airtime, he calls u and then u load it up for me, trust me, it's gonna be tiring.

Experience they say is the best teacher, forget all the permutations you have done to recover cost and make profit, face the reality on the ground.

Lol... You know most transport coys have a specific filling station they buy fuel from?

Besides if he buys 3k and tell me 4k... Its my gain cos 4k will be subtracted from earnings.

You also know that phones keep calls log and you can't delete one . the best u can do is delete all

I know it will be a difficult process but it profits means anything to an investor, he would devote a full to study these things

The model is done in such a way that if the driver overshoots the expenses.. He loses big time as the expenditure will be deducted before he starts earning... If he under shoots, the driver and the owner both share the in it..

The model protects the car owner fully and as well rewards the driver.. The current model favours only the driver..

This is the normal commission based rental, I know many partners out there doing the same model, it's nothing new. Only new drivers will go for it. So you can as well start from your community church like you said. Good luck!

E-hailing isn't for the weak. My first week, my car got clamped at the airport and I had to pay 10k, same week at yaba, another 5k for illegal parking, went to some places at unfavourable time of the day. Got body aches, headaches, tiredness and also lost weight . I made 67k on my first week but I only worked for the rental and filling stations. I worked on uber only for my first week, I registered on taxify my second week, applied the lessons I learnt in the first week and my earnings boosted. I've been lucky with my riders as all of them have been cool with me although that didn't stop some from dashing me a couple of 1 and 2stars. The business is still profitable especially if you own the car but if you're on rental, be ready to work your ass out.

I have been following your post here but practically u will be at the losing end. If a driver buy 3k fuel and tells u 4k. That 1k gone out of the net profit u are suppose to share. He just stole ur 650naira so easily. If he steals 1k from u daily for seven days thats 4550 he stole. Money dsts suppose to add up to the net profit.

U said u camt delete call logs, thats very funny. You can delete call logs my brother. U dont need to clear all.

If ur driver calls u and said the car got spoilt somewhere how do u want to know if its true? The best u will tell him is to look for a mechanic to quickly repair it.. My brother, ur driver might ne inside coldstone livking ice cream while waitimg for u to send like 4k to repair wetin no dey. And even if it got spoilt and needs and mechanic tells him 3500 and he told u 5k, wat can u do about that? Even if u av a specific mechanic will ur mechanic ne with the driver 24/7 ??

Offline trips is another thing ooo. Some old drivers have long list of offline customers, and ders little u can do to monitor d car even with tracker cos on e hailling ders no specific route. All way na way unlike transport companies that have specific routes so tracking can be done.

Oga mi, u will end up losing big time

Who else has noticed the new way taxify scam us (drivers) they tell you do 15 trips to get 4500, 75% acceptance rate, and then 15 hrs online.
But if a rider place a request, you accepted and drove to the pickup location, then the rider cancels...taxify would reduce your acceptance rate, another one is flash trip.... maybe you've completed your 15 trips and it 30 minutes to the end of the bonus...then you go check your acceptance rate heheheheh the next thing you see 69%, you'd be so confused asking yourself how come....only to check your history and see a ghost trip tagged driver did not respond grin grin grin taxify na scam.

Hello all,
Please guys don't do business with this fraudster named FLEETDRIVE. Here are my reasons:
1. He "helped" us buy a Nigerian used Honda city for 810k and did some "repairs" for another 100k. He had sent the picture of the car earlier but we weren't ready then. When we were ready, he resent the same picture with a higher price and lied it wasn't the same car...unknown to him that we kept the pictures

2. This car was with him for close to 2 months before he got a driver and therefore it was just "parked" in his yard

3. When he finally got a driver, he started saying its 30k he agreed to pay after promising 32,500. We let that slide too. He NEVER even paid the 30k in full for once, it was always one story or the other. We got paid for just 3 weeks for a car bought since June

4. This guy changed the tyres of this car (on our cost o) and when we called him that we were coming to get the car from him, he REMOVED all the tyres and REPLACED with BAD TYRES. The whole car looked like scrap sef when we got it back from him

5. We gave the car to a dealer to help us sell and almost all the parts of this car is bad from the gear box to the engine and he told us the car isnt worth more than 450k, that's how much people are willing to pay for the crap he sold to us.

6. Ever since we collected the car, all efforts to reach him were futile. He never replied our messages nor took our calls.

7. His overall customer service is bad. His office is ar Iwaya, i agree i fell for a scam, i don't want anybody to fall for this same scam called FLEETDRIVE LIMITED.

Thank you.

In the quest of bin smart, you will be outsmarted. I can give u a 100% guarantee on that because the system in which you want to embark on does not favor an investor.

Everyone can't be wrong at the same time, some have given u experiences they had and believe me u won't appreciate this advice until u get burnt by decisions you think were smart.
(Your thought, why should a driver earn more than an investor, whatever he makes he should get a certain percentage as commission)
Phranex, do you know what motivate drivers? that feeling of bin the boss is what does, that feeling of I must earn more than my investor is part of what motivates them. In this time and era, no one wants to be a slave for a long time especially those who know their onions and self worth.

On pen and paper the investor is the boss but in reality, the driver is (as long as ehailing is concerned).

I wish u good luck.

what do u mean?

its my car and i will be in charge of maintaining, right ? I will insure it (my money). All they will do is drive. Yet u drivers want to remit peanuts weekly..

Transport companies who ply interstates employ drivers.. why should uber be different?

If i plan having 5 or more cars on uber, you think i will give them out to greedy drivers to balance me weekly while i maintain the car.. All their work is to drive and get the juicy part of the business while they remit only 30k. You dont call that scam abi..

Look, having drivers ride my car is empowerment to them... they are not doing me a favour by driving my cars...
The question is this...how are you even sure you ll get more than 120k monthly after paying the driver salary monthly? Since drivers are on pay roll

I will buy the cars, buy phones.. register them on uber myself. Get drivers and register each driver to a phone and a car on uber.

Now I have the accounts of all my drivers. I know how much they are all making daily..

My drivers will be allowed to have lunch and buy fuel off the previous days job.

All my drivers will have a unique corporate uniform so that passengers will quickly recognize my cars.
At the end of the month, I pay them salary...

I need someone to tell me why this model will not work...

The current uber drivers are thieves and grow fat off someones resources

Offline trips is another thing ooo. Some old drivers have long list of offline customers, and ders little u can do to monitor d car even with tracker cos on e hailling ders no specific route. All way na way unlike transport companies that have specific routes so tracking can be done.

Oga mi, u will end up losing big time

Let's say driver buy fuel 3k but tells me 4k

At the end of the he makes 10k (bad day)
10 -4 =6

The driver and I will share 6k .. He gets 2100 (35%)

He tells me the truth

10 - 3 = 7

The driver and I share 7k.. He gets 2450

Who loses if he lies, tell me?

Remember all expenses comes back to the investor as running costs... So from the 10k, the investor has expenses plus 65% of net profit

The driver loses if he lies....

If he tells me he spent xyz for repairs.. Whatever he earns , that xyz amount will be first deducted before we share the profit

E.g

He calls that the car broke down and mechanic needs 5k . I will transfer 5k to him.. He made 10k at the end of the day... What we will share as profit is 5k.. The 5k I sent will have to be deducted from the 10k...

This model is fool proof...

I will have to do some further permutations to be doubly sure tho

Believing me with my model. We both suffer losses and gain together .

In your current model... Only the car owner suffers.

9k is a bad day for u.. 3 bad days make up almost 30k to give to the car owner... While 4 more day earnings on a BAD day belongs to u.

Yet if the car goes bad.. U want him to repair from the 3 bad days u give to him
Guy u are just saying 9k for 3 days.. won't the driver buy fuel from the 9k?. Sorry the cars are not using solar power.
Guy , I ll advice u go back to whoever that told u about the sweet side of the bizness only and get more orientation about the major factors to be considered.
On this thread, we have lot of partners, driver-partners, drivers and fleet managers.
Nigerian situation has gotten beyond just woke up in d morning, come up with an idea and believe it's going to work out easily like urine.
That system can not work. " ko le work"

The question is this...how are you even sure you ll get more than 120k monthly after paying the driver salary monthly? Since drivers are on pay roll

Its not a fixed salary. Its commission based

Hello all,
Please guys don't do business with this fraudster named FLEETDRIVE.

Thank you.
You can PM me for proof to this my story.

Thanks for warning us. Now we will stay far far away
