Here we go again... We talk about a player's genuine attributes and the arch guardian of experience calls it hype... Soon everyone will key in and begin saying we named Osimhen next balloon dor winner... Here we go again... I know this path too well dad... wink

Fell in love with Osimhen when he was introduced against Senegal at the African U23 championships in the second half. He changed that game and we went to the final.

Bro cool down no be today we dey see players like this grin. Let him play a couple more games and and let him continue to display those abilities consistently before me I will start shouting his name.

We are in dire need of natural CFs so it will be our utmost joy if Osimhen can step up his game and step into the shoes. But let us see him do it consistently first and maybe also do it in a more competitive league.

You are free to start singing his praises o. But me i will just lie low for now and be looking....

Not even Iheanacho's class performance today or Ebere Eze's classy showings of late could bring me out... Not even Samuel Chukwueze's Europa league debut (coz i actually saw it coming) or Orji Okonkwo's start for Bologna in serie A last time out... not even news of David Enogela joining Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine...

Na just this lad... Victor James Osimhen... I believe he has the DNA to become our next great no.9.. he just needs time and that Super Jolt of confidence to soar... He is an Eagle.. he just needs to find his wind and he has started very well in Belgium.

By the way, I've been well Dad... Missed me?

You no even come out come play when Eaglets won the WAFU ZoneB Ticket.

This your Osimhen better performs to avoid heart break o. grin

And to the bolded, em you don do wetin you dey do inside house finish abi you just come out come shout goooooooooooaaaaaaaaallllllll for Osimhen? And then plan to run in again? Well na farm me dey go so o. Take care of the house.

Iheanacho has done more scoring for Nigeria than Ighalo. Ighalo has simply not produced.

Uhmmm... Need I remind you it is not everyday you see a player who did what he did as a 16 yeear old back in 2015 and making the step up immediately to the U-23s and still showed solid stuffs?

Well, I am calm actually. I just need to drive in the fact that Osimhen is special. A few early struggles for the lad was mainly injury-based and never down to his talents or abilities. I believe he will eventually come good. It is not the first time I am spotting talent and watching them grow... I usually apply patience in rating a talent. I am not quick to condemn or like others quick to label one as "not making progress" or terming such a "wasteman" like someone who must not be named grin

Remember the case with Awoniyi? Many almost lost hope in Awo... But he eventually came good last season and now has the chance to build on that. He is among Liverpool's highly rated loanees.

See ehn, this Osimhen's goal today is just the beginning and jolt he needed. I am not saying he has arrived yet or is close to that... No. I am just excited because he has done the first thing needed to begin his rise again... And this is what I celebrate and hope to see more of as time goes on.

It is Osimhen's time. It is the boy's time and he has started his Belgian journey well today. Watch as the lad rises... #YouHeardItHereFirst

The U17 is only indicative, not all U17 Prospects make it big in football. I am sure you agree more now. Many thought Iheanacho and Success by now would be blowing Africa and the rest of the World away. The case of these two exceptional U17 players should be an eye opener to this younger generation. Me I have been seeing this same worrisome trend since the 1980s. So no blame me o.

I dont think u love Osimhen more than I do, but I just chose to lie low and watch. And I sincerely hope he comes out good and Isaac Success too. I am tired of hearing certain names in the national team already. angry

Hahahaha... I am so sorry about that. I kept all the records and articles on our U-17s just for references but was too busy to come online.

But I knew that team would deliver even with Johnson Isaac's withdrawal no thanks to the MRI test in Niger.

We saw new young teens rise like Arsenal-linked left footed pearl, Akinkunmi Amoo and the dazzling, pacy, vardy-like winger/forward, Olusegun Olakunle.

Samson Tijani reminds me of a little Oliseh. John Amah was good too in goal and that U-15 lad from the U-15 team to Morocco for the African Youth games, Muhammed Ibrahim, a left back was a beauty to watch.

Hassan Hussain, Olatomi Olaniyan and even Akinsola in jersey no.18 we're also very good. The lads are truly gifted and played the best football in Niger. They still have a long way to go shaa and our defence needs work... All Manu Garba teams always need work in defence in the early days... Lol

So Dad, gbaram Biko... I followed everything but was just really occupied too. Nigerian football's future makes my heart sings... smiley

Ist pic: Olakunle Olusegun (this kid wowed me with his sense of finishing, speed and skills) - top Scorer

Your first line is picked right off the lips and fingers of a known pessimist here and an enemy of anything Indigenous Nigerian-born. How is he by the way? Southgate Komekn... Lol

Ofcos it is indicative but also it provides a good window into some of the world's future top stars like we saw Neymar in Lagos and Mikel in Finland.
Iheanacho and Success are still in the game are they not? Iheanacho have won two Best CAF young awards has he not? Iheanacho is still just 21 and will be 22 come October and is still showing he has he guts to become a genuine top player.
Success strggled initially but he is gradually getting his mojo back. So yes it is all indicative but also gives us a good idea of who can rise to be among the top of the class.

And Trust me, you have no idea where my passion for our talented young footballers with top potentials come from. So your love for Osimhen may only be "indicative" compared to mine... grin

ANYWAY shaa... Ofcos we are watching and hope they all live up to great or good expectations. But allow me to celebrate his first pro goal naa. Abi that one na crime? wink

What about Omeruo that does not even make the team..

This is really a worrisome development.

And more worrisome is the fact that our Youth coaches have not doen enough to unearth quality defenders from our Youths system. In recent years we have produced fantastic youth teams but hardly have any of the defenders made any meaningful progress. Musa Mohammed seems to be the Manu raised defender that has been trying to put a showing here and there but he still falls short.

Manu, Amuneke and Siasia's teams have always been poor defensively. Could it be that they dont know how to scout defenders or they dont know how to groom defenders or what? Amuneke and Siasia I understand it could be because they are natural forward players but what of Manu?

Idowu, Balogun, Ekong, Omeruo and Shehu are all 25+ already. I hope we dont end up being at the mercy of those FB to fill up our defenses in the next few years?

Manu teams always have problems in defence. The best his teams gave us has been converted to a DMF.... Wilfred Ndidi.

Amuneke teams have not given us any yet.

Siasia teams gave us Apam and Dele Adeleye but neither had fruitful longevity. The best from a Siasia team remains Taiye Taiwo. Even Olufemi Olubayo was growing into a top RB before death came calling.

Awaziem was in the camps of the Manu and Amuneke teams but he was ineligible for the Amuneke team while he missed out on the Garba team for being too young probably. He was a DMF back then before his conversion.

Fact is truly they haven't given us enough quality at the back so far. We hope future youth/cadet teams will change this

Ok so Victor Osimhen spent exactly 90 minutes on the pitch before being subbed. He touched every blade of grass on that pitch. I personally feel it was a MOTM performance. A lot of clubs will be feeling silly after this season especially those in Belgium who passed up on him.

Yes Ndidi but his development came as a DM while Awaziem started off as a DM.

The current Manu's Eaglets are still having defence issues as they conceded in every game.

Just to chip this in, watch out for the Senegalese U17, they have been tipped favorites to win the CAF U17.

They beat Cape Verde 6-0 in the semis and Guinea 4-0 in the final to win the WAFU ZONE A. After equally humiliating other teams in their group.

And as for the Siasia's products, well they may have made the SE more because they came from the U20s which is a closer age category to the senior team. Do u also also know that none of Eguavoen's 2003 Eaglets made the Siasia' 2005 U20 Defense?

All those Amunee's 2015 Eaglets defenders we no hear about them again.

I think we have not been doing enough in scouting and developing defenders at the U17 age grade.
