chinchunchu: Nah.. Not convincing anyone.. The bike business is risky. A new govt might ban bikes in Lagos. I honestly want to have a fleet of cars on uber but the current model is discouraging. And so I will formulate a new model for myself. By January, I will but a corolla and an android phone to test my model. The people who ride my bikes are aboki The person who will drive my car will be a driver not a graduate who couldn't get a job but resorted to driving on uber (no offense intended). The latter is greedy and wants to build a mansion off another's property while the former drives as a profession. 2 Likes |

Phranex, you can't be "brainstorming" yet shitting on opinions. A dishonest driver will earn more but so will you, tho smaller (% Measure). Consider this: Driver Requested N1000 to fix something and you provided it. At day end, GROSS is N10,200 *** Hypothetically speaking, N200 covers fuel and other miscs. Going by your model, that N1000 is further subtracted from the Gross which now leaves N9,000 as NET Driver Earns 35% Scenario 1 (No Dishonesty) N10,000 NET Driver gets 3500 and you 6500. Scenario 2 (Dishonesty) Driver doesn't use the N1000 he gets from you, thats an extra in his own pocket. Going by the new NET of N9000, he gets his 35%, N3150 and you N5850. Driver: N3150 + the N1000 with him before = N4150 You: N5850 + N1000 removed from gross (depending on how you look at it) = N6,850. Summary: In Scenario 1, everything worked out normal. However, in Scenario 2, driver earns an extra N650 and you, N350. 1 Like |

Phranex: In Scenario 1, no dishonesty, NET is N10,000. True, tho relative. |
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Phranex(m): 11:20pm On Sep 22, 2018 |
1899Milan: Net can not be 10k Revenue is 10200 Gross is 10000 Driver requested for 1k Net becomes 10 minus 1 Meanwhile in the dishonest scenario the loss is 350 In scenario 2 if driver doesn't use the 1k. It means he has 11200 as cash.. He only gives me back my initial 1k and subtracts 200 as fuel Thus making us share 10k instead of 9k. The loss is 350. Although he might look like he has the full 1k but its 350 he gains |

Phranex: Lol...you're truly a programmer...you're processing Scenario 1 as part of the initial statement/condition/declaration: "Consider this: Driver Requested N1000 to fix something and you provided it. At day end, GROSS is N10,200 *** Hypothetically speaking, N200 covers fuel and other miscs. Going by your model, that N1000 is further subtracted from the Gross which now leaves N9,000 as NET" . Scenario 1 is an instance where the Driver is honest, meaning no fraudulent request. And No, he won't give you back the 1k, your argument since has been that you will remove the expenses from the earnings and then split the NET. 1 Like |

Oga dis is simple mathematics. He buys fuel 3k and tells u 4k. He makes 10k gross profit. 10k -4k= 6k net profit. 35% of 6k = 2100. Total money driver makes = 2100+1000= 3100 While u make 3900. If he tells u d truth. 10k- 3k= 7k 35% of 7k= 2450 Total money driver makes is 2450 compared to 3100 he made lieing to u. He calls dat the mechanic needs 5k, u forward 5k to him, he pays mechanic 3k and locket 2k. At the end of the day, he makes 10k and u deduct 5k. U give him 35% of 5k which is 1750. He happily collects it knowing dat he has made 2k making a total of 3750. On the other hand u as d supposedly smart investor only makes 65% of 5k which is 3250. Oga who is smarter Bro, u will always be at the recieving end. Even transport companies cannot fully monitor der drivers. Der drivers still carry passengers on the road. Phranex: 4 Likes |

Phranex: It will be very nice doing business with this over-sabi guy. For instance, if the driver tells you he bought fuel 3k & mechanic replaced a part & workmanship for 6k total 9k & u forwarded the cash to him whereas in a real sense he never replace any part, he just fooled you b cos of ur over-sabi. At the end of the week day he brought 10k to the table for sharing. You decided to deduct 9k for expenses and share 1k. If I were the driver, I will say, Oga don't worry to give me anything since there is no much profit. Now let me ask you a question, assuming you borrow that money used as expenses (3k+6k) from someone and you pay back, you are left with just 1k and the driver had pocket 6k. Now who loose? Maybe because you're thinking the money deducted for expenses is going back to your pocket & the amount used for example is not much, that's why you never realized you're losing BIG time. Wake up bro 2 Likes |

1899Milan: Scenario 2, driver earns an extra N650 and you -N650 Ask me how. You can't ADD N1000 to yourself cos you took the N1000 from your pocket and not from the money earned to get to the driver Else Account won't be balanced Hold on, lemme let me balance your account. On scenario 2. Driver N4150 + you N6850 = N11,000 Therefore your account is not balance to N10,000 Balancing my scenario 2. Driver N4150 + you 5850 = N10,000. Therefore. You loose d N1,000 to dishonest driver and lost N650 extra from the earning to him. Simple. Call your accountant, he can explain better 1 Like |

Tgiirl: The truth is I now see some losses from a dishonest driver. No system is fool proof. Don't blame me for my model I can't invest 2.2 million and break even after 24 months There has to be a way out. What if I have my mechanic and auto part dealer. Driver calls that theres a fault I call my mechanic to go check it. The mechanic tells me the part to be replaced. I call my auto parts guy and send one of my bike men to go get the part. This bike man locates the mechanic and gets the old part and gives him the new part.. Too long abi Its an organized business with division of labour Besides, any business man who wants to make profit must be organized Now the issue of fuel... this will be difficult As for toll gate.. That's easy 1 Like |
