@Italicised Bolded.... That's Enyimba's next opponent in the semis. First leg in Aba and Second leg in Morocco.

Yes I know. And we know they are favourites based on Pedigree . But we will be battle ready.

But why is it that this North Africans always have the advantage of staging the second legs at home?

T. K of Soccer Africa has also made that complain.

Lol... Chief Icon4s' number 1 RB... Chris you funny shaa.

Anyway, Shehu returned to training like a couple of days ago and made the matchday squad for Bursaspor's last game on September 21 vs Istanbul BB. He was on the bench.

On Danjuma, hmmmmm... Arnaut as a 9? Well, time will tell... wink

No mind that guy called Chriskel grin

That was exactly my fear for Enyimba when I heard Raja. Before I even checked to confirm who will host the first leg first, I knew Enyimba will have to play away in the second leg. It irks me. Even in 2003, Enyimba had to do the impossible and win their first ever CAF CL title right on the homeground of Egyptian club, Ismaily SC. It was only in 2004, I saw Enyimba finish a crucial tie in the CAF competitions at home (in Abuja) vs Etoile (the battle of Enyeama vs Ejide).

Hey team Danjuma there is a good news for u guys. Rohr really has a genuine interest in the guy because he blvs the boy has the qualities to be a top striker with his pace, skills and good shooting ability.

Just watched some clips of Danjuma and I can say he is good. As for Rohr being interested in him, that's good news. I just hope this news is not like the one about Rohr liking Onyekuru before his maiden call-up then. We all know He doesn't fancy Onyekuru.
Danjuma will be a nice addition

Oh really? Never knew coaches bench their best players. Maybe that same coach is also asking other clubs not to notice his goal per minute ratios. Dessers is better than Success, only in ur dreams bro.
we have discussed this at length before, but just in case you were offline when we did. Coaches BENCH ANY PLAYER, irrespective of how good you are. They will bench their best players and lose a final just to prove a point

After what happened to Onyekuru at Anderlecht last season, this line is not one that is expected of anyone on this thread, honestly.

Though not all the time but most times North Africans host the return leg. By then they will know how many goals they will need to score to over turn a first leg result and be ready all out to attack until they achieve it. That is when CAF will go and send a Libyan or Sudanese referee to officiate the game, who will be awarding them useless free-kicks in dangerous positions and possibly penalty. The fans will come to the stadium with laser beams and all sorts of whistles to whistle off any of any passes our boys will make and they will now put the kick-off time at 9pm much to the disadvantage of our boys who are not used to playing under flood lights.
The boys will undergo humiliation right from the Airport and even may have their bus stoned at.

These are conditions other African teams go through to play in North Africa. Well, Enyimba is an experienced campaigner on the continent. They should be prepared for all those.

That game in 2003 that saw us win that title first time, OMG. We won the first leg 2:0 in Aba but we knew we were going for War in Ismaili. God bless Enyeama abeg. Na him save us that day. I watched the game with some of my friends who were journalists. It was like a Nigeria vs Egypt game. O boy memories.....

Well, I just wish Enyimba all the best against Raja. Hope they can draw on the Spirit of 2003-04 to top Raja and make it into the final. It's been a while a Nigerian clubside tasted continental success. 2003-04 is fast moving into the era of "decades ago."

In 2003, I was still very much a pre-teen but I heartily followed all of Enyimba's games on their March to the CAF CL title popularly called "the Elusive CAF Champions league title". That word, elusive used to annoy me back then ehn! I did my research into the competition back then in 2002 (Enyimba's previous CL season before 2003) and found that not a single Nigerian Side have won the CAF CL. I saw that we had won the CAF Cup and CAF Cup winners cup (both competitions now defunct and replaced by the CAF confed cup in 2003) but the CAF CL was super elusive for Nigerian clubsides. I just weak that time and that is why I religiously folllowes Enyimba's glorious March in 2003 when they finally took the Elusive tag off Nigerian club CL folklore.
What we faced in Egypt was beyond football action. We played out the sport version of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible. GOING INTO THE LION'S TERRITORY AND TAKING HIS PRIDE. It was war. I remember how the Ismaily players pushed Ekene Ezenwa (#30) over so angrily because he was taking his time to leave the pitch when being subbed off. Crazy scenes happened that day. We were pushed almost to the brinks but we never broke. And yes, Enyeama was the hero of that mission impossible. I will never forget that night. Those guys foreevr made history. smiley #Memories Dad. Sweet ones too.

We are talking about chronic chopping of bench here grin grin

U sited Onyekuru as an example but forgot that Onyekuru's talent bailed him out by making other teams come for him. That only shows he is good enough, I cant remember any team looking to have Dessers. My dear, a bench warmer in lowly Utretch in this present day Eredivisie isn't what Nigeria needs. If he was warming bench for, lets say Ajax or PSV, that would av been understandable, but, Utretch? No nah

That game eh... After the ref blew the final whistle, the players could not even jubilate. All our officials and travelling supporters ran to the centre circle of the pitch to take refuge. A serious Riot broke out in that stadium that Night. By the next morning we were listening to hear if their were casualties recorded on the Nigerian side.

That Ekene Ezenwa'a incident, the fans were still hauling misciles at him even when he went to the bench area.

That was a big show of shame from the Egyptian fans that day. Ismailly just like Enyimba had never won it. So they needed that trophy so badly so as to join the likes of Ismailly and Zamalek at that level.

That was not a football match. It was more like a fighting match. That is the kind of mental strenght Nigerian clubs need to win away games.

Read what Leicester match day pundit has to say about Puel's new found solution up front, on the BBC highlights show;

Jermaine Jenas

“(Claude Puel) tends to tinker around too much I think but with these three, Iheanacho, Maddison and Vardy, they seem to have found a very good blend,”

“Maddison is the brains of the operations, you’ve got great legs in Vardy, and Iheanacho is a very good finisher, he showed that at Man City"

“They were always in vicinity of each other, where they can find each other. Maddison will pick up the ball and allow Vardy and Iheanacho to make the runs. They linked up really well and Huddersfield didn’t know what to do with them at times"

“Then they had the option of Demarai Gray coming on. But it was these three(VIM=Vardy, Iheanacho, Maddison) that really gelled" °°Chai I love this line mbok

“(For the third goal) Iheanacho is the provider, yes Vardy gets through, but looks who’s there if needs be, Maddison making that run into the box. It’s a lovely finish from Vardy"

“Maybe (Puel) won’t have to tinker so much after that because maybe he’s found something.”

If things remain this way, then Iheanacho is bound to start more games and promises more goals. Selfish Gray right now angry angry

Firstly, a club has a right to decline offers from other clubs. It happens everywhere even in well established leagues in Europe.

Then Ezeji said Enyimba has been sleeping since after winning the two CAF Champions league. YES, he is very right. For Enyimba's standard they have been sleeping. But know that during this sleeping period we won more league titles than any other club in Nigeria. We also won FA cups. We hardly missed out on Continental competitions because we hardly finish outside the top 4 places. Enyimba was supposed to have built up from their successes from early to mid 2000s but we went to sleep. Else we would be on the same pedestal as Ah-Ahly, Zamalek, Esparance, Raja Cassablance etc by now grin

(In an Aba trader's Voice) Nna...respect us biko grin
Clubs in Europe actually want the players when they refuse to sell, they don't refuse and go bury the player like a treasure. The same Mfon Udoh was sold to them at no stress so why are they forcing the man to stay when he has accomplished so much for them? Meanwhile they couldn't keep Udoji Mr Enyimba at the time.

Nobody is questioning Enyimba as giants but when u say they are the only professional club in the land that is fictitious and disrespectful. Even Enyimba fans complain about how the club is ran like a secret society so what right do u have to bash the rest of the clubs when they also are making strides. Are u saying Kano Pillars are not professional?

You are just taking style to shoot at Victor and I won't have it. They are both good players who are making us proud, the end.

There is no style here.

Its plain day light, if you had not brought up Stephen, he is literally forgotten and not in the discussion of prospective talents. When he scored his first goal was there any celebration.

Understand this guy has come straight from the NPFL didn't join an academy or U21 to gradually learn the requirements of the modern game in Europe. But has had to learn fast and with the possible language barriers, etc and is now showing promise.

So if that is not double standard then it is at least favouritism which is something that abounds on this forum.

See Chairman, not that I am in support of favouritism here but it has always been like that.

People have their favourite players. Just as your discussions and arguments favour the English-groomed talents some would do anything to defend in favour of the Manu/Amuneke groomed talents.

You saw me cooling down those celebrating Osimhen's first goal. That is all I can do. Besides, these preferences of players are some of the things that make arguments here interesting . grin Pro and Anti-Iheanacho how market? grin Pro and Anti-Ajagun too grin

Football star, Saido Berahino appears to be performing better in the bedroom than on the pitch as he has been named the father on two birth certificates – born on May 30 and July 17 The Stoke City striker, who has scored just one goal in 913 days is currently embroiled in a legal battle over having fathered a hat-trick of children in less than two months.
