PDP Heads to Court over Osun Guber. The PDP is heading to the court to quash the illegal declaration of the September 22, 2018 Osun governorship election as inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

That is how it should be. Let the law decide the outcome.

angry

The INEC should explain what happened at kogi state as regards the last held bye elections.

When they answer that then they can justify the inconclusiveness of the Osun state election

Guess this is a wise decision. The voided votes INEC hinged it judgement on were votes wherein an election was already conducted.
Only a competent court of law can void/cancel votes & not INEC.Hence let it decide.
Even the electoral officer that absconded with the result of that particular polling unit is an INEC staff. Why not declear him wanted
The truth is that INEC is no more independent as it have been compromised. The recent Kogi by-election is an exact replica of the Osun case.INEC is simply playing double standard.APC have long lost Osun State

During the Kogi 2015 guber poll, the late Abubabakar Audu was leading the then incumbent, Idris Wada (of PDP) with a margin of about 43k and the election was declared inconclusive because some polling units with about 49k voting strength had their votes cancelled. PDP celebrated the declaration because they knew if they had declared Audu the winner, automatically, Faleke would have been sworn in as the governor after the death of Audu. Now, same thing has happened in Osun and they are already crying foul.

The rerun would be conducted in Osun come Thursday and APC candidate would emerge the winner and heaven would not fall.!

Does that mean the PDP won't participate in the supplementary election or what? The election is theirs to lose on Thursday, so they better receive sense and stop this rubbish.

Effort in futility. Faleke raised the same argument in the kogi election court case and the supreme court upheld INEC's power to declare election inconclusive based on the electoral act.

I kinda feel PDP is going to court as a plan B in case of a loss on thursday.

I am currently watching channels TV politics today and the truth is if INEC is served a paper as defendants from the court and restraining them, INEC would obey. At least so says the law theoretically

They can push for a court injunction that would suspend the re-run.

If they fail, then they may go ahead and participate.

I still insist they should just go ahead with the election instead of this court route. The election is theirs to lose. At this point it is next to impossible for APC to beat them on Thursday. There are already precedents for Inec's decision.

PDP should focus on recovering the 1000 votes deducted from Ayadaade.
Meanwhile voters that will turn up in those 7 polling units will not be up to 500. Take that to the bank.

INEC chairman called a friend rather than allowed the audience to assist him in the who want to be a millionaire game played in Osun on 22/9/18.

This is an exercise in futility. The supreme court has already ruled on this issue of INEC jurisdiction when it comes to reruns. PDP lawyers just want to chop some money over futility

PDP is doing both

Go to court to reclaim their mandate

Prepare for the supplementary election to win at the polls

I think they should add a 3rd dimension and challenge the 1000 deducted from Ayedade

3 prong attack, APC must fall at one of these 3 hurdles!

I agree with you though I seriously think they should go through with the elections but would INEC be unbias? They've already shown bias. INEC seems compromised else why would you use different standards for elections held just less than 2 months apart (kogi and Osun).

INEC is the problem! And no one trusts them

Good move. Let's start from there. Results shouldn't have been announced before declaring the election inconclusive.

This is contradictory.
You said if the election is conducted over and over again, PDP would still win. The question is this: If Victory is so sure, why are they crying foul and heading to court? They should just wait for Thursday to come and test their might lobatan
