During a press conference yesterday, award winning author Chimamanda Adichie spoke on religion and how it relates to feminism. She spoke on how people often use the Bible wrongly to justify their stance against feminism. According to her, Jesus Christ treated women like his equals and were the once that first saw him when he resurrected. ''When you use the bible to justify what in my opinion is injustice, the problem with this is that, I want to then ask you, let's talk about the new testament, let's talk about Jesus Christ, because, in general, Christianity really is about the coming of Christ. The audience responds: ''Women.'' Chimamanda continues: ''That's a very very important symbol, which people like to overlook because it's important for us to selectively pick the parts of the bible that justify our own prejudices. And if you really want to talk about the old testament, then I have many things that I want to point out to you that you're not doing that the old testament says that you should do.'' https://www.wotzup.ng/2018/09/chimamanda-jesus-symbol-gender-equality/ 10 Likes 2 Shares

A member of the audience pointed out that men and women were created differently, therefore it is flawed to say they are equal. He said: ''If God created a man with 9 ribs and a penis and then he created a woman with 7 ribs and a vagina, it's not balanced from the beginning. So the argument that a man and a woman should be equal is never going to be balanced. In reply, Chimamanda explained that men and women are indeed different, but equal. She said: ''When you say equal, I think it's important for you to understand that when people say men and women are equal, people are not saying men and women are the same, because, obviously, we are not. https://www.wotzup.ng/2018/09/chimamanda-jesus-symbol-gender-equality/ 18 Likes |

most Christians are not even following Christ, they are still stuck in the Old Testament. 32 Likes 2 Shares |

booblacain: You and Chimamanda should keep shut. Jesus Christ said wives should be submissive to their husband because he is the head of the wife. Feminism kicks against that. Ephesians 5:22-33 (KJV) 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Wives are to submit and Husbands are to love. That is what Jesus passed on to his disciples which Satan is trying to change today. 143 Likes 10 Shares |

Women women women. I hope to someday have chimamda's audience. Then I'll ask her if Mary should be equalled to Christ or God to any kind. Either you like it or not, men are superior.....ask yourself, it is said that women are much more than men. Then we have elections... Why wouldn't the women vote for their kind? In all spheres of life, except in child delivery, men dominates given equal opportunity with women 8 Likes |

THE BIBLE SHOULD BE BEYOND THE LAST THING TO MAKE REFERENCE TO WHEN TALKING ABOUT GENDER EQUALITY. ALL THAT NON-VIRGIN BRIDE KILLINGS AND YOUNG WOMEN TRADING LIKE GOODS IS NOT OUT OF CONTEXT. OH, JESUS CARED SO MUCH ABOUT WOMEN THAT HE MADE HIS DISCIPLES 12 MEN? GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. . 86 Likes 9 Shares |

Is it the latest for this aunty to keep shooting herself in the foot and digging a hole for herself, all in the name to prove a point or just a belief? This is beginning to sound more like a broken record already and her utterances are coming off more like an invitation to ridicule and an attempt at bringing her own name to disrepute. Anyone who had read the Bible will surely call to question her ability to read, understand and interpret. She's definitely trying too hard to justify whatever she's on about and in the process committing more gaffes. My little quote: When a case is just and right, you labour less to make it catch on or convince people about it. Enjoy my siggy 17 Likes 2 Shares |

I will believe this gender equality nonsense when a woman starts impregnating another woman; when there is nothing like male/ female categories in sports, but a team is composed of male and female team members; when there is no male/female categories in weightlifting; when fighting a woman is seen as ordinary as when you fight with your fellow men.... 26 Likes |
