Yep... Up next is Greece in a QF qualification match and that is because of our Points Differential even though we finished second. Turkey also make it into the QF playoffs. And yes awaiting us is the Mighty USA if we beat Greece.

Bring it on! cool

Russia 2018 FIFA WC 2018- Argentina send Nigeria home after securing a 1-1 scoreline to go to Rof16.

Spain 2018 FIBA WWC- Argentina needed a 17-pt win to stand a chance of qualifying for the QF playoffs but were eventually sent packing by D'TIGRESS of Nigeria.

On Twitter, Super Eagles just replied BBallNaija's message (@NGSuperEagles, this was for you) thanking D'TIGRESS for the win over "nemesis" Argentina... Lol... Football and Basketball coming together as one... The power of sports. wink

Who dey talk Kaduna? Do you even know that the ''Babayaro'' was an adopted name? Cele and Emma resemble people wey go bear Babayaro as real surname?

And on Bendel's continued dwindling fortunes in sports. That's true. The recent adminitrations have not been taking Sports that seriously. And maybe also people's passion to participate in sports have reduced. Our youths these days are found more at viewing centres and Betting houses. Rather than they playing the game they bet on those playing the game. You need to see how Yahoo-Yahoo and Betting have eaten deep into the lives of youths in Benin today. Benin is rated only second to Lagos in these two activities.

Sad reality of today's Bendel Region.

Nothing like tough or weak team in the Nigerian league. To me they are all at the same level. What do you call a league where some times the difference between the champion and relegated team can be less than 10points.

A team wins this season and the next season they are battling relegation grin. A newly promoted team from the NNL will be at pole positions to win the title.

It might sound harsh but if some of the NPFL clubs play in the NNL they might even get relegated grin

Then why are u claiming to paint Gombe blue? Abi Abi is no more Nigeria? I don't think that 10 point gap u spoke about ever happened. As far as the teams being the same tell that to Abia Warrior who got walloped 5-1 by Kwara United a couple days ago. Plateau was challenging for the title before the league ended so there goes the facing relegation argument. Teams fall off when the governor of their states stop caring not because of quality of the league or anything else.

I think this is FIFA award not EPL or UEFA award. What you do in FiFA competition + others are considered. I guess.

So why did Salah make the top three. He did nothing at the World Cup. If the World Cup is the yardstick to decide the best players, then Salah has no place in the top three.

I feel Gary Neville took a very big step taking over Valencia. Someone who never worked or played in the Spanish League. Different culture and tradition. Then after failing at Valencia, he gave up too early. He should have tried again in maybe the Championship. I have no doubt he would have done better.

Most of our local coaches are pretenders. Until we have good pitches everywhere in Nigeria, we will know who is who. Many of them get by, by getting cheap wins at home and struggling for a point away. You people will be setting standards as if Imama and Yusuf have really done great things.

darkelf:

Yes I saw those words but still, its too early to start considering him, even for the future.

What if Enyimba gets thoroughly beaten in the next round by Raja (like both home and away)

What if (in addition), Enyimba gets relegated this season under him?

Lets first see how he handles them for 3 yrs plus. Then (maybe in 2023), we can start considering him for assistant coach in 2026.

Somebody’s days are numbered. Tell that beret-wearing scarecrow.

TheSuperNerd:
NFF President, Pinnick with Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote; Oil magnate, Femi Otedola and FIFA president, Infantino at the FIFA "The Best" awards ceremony...

Pinnick says he would be having a discussion with Dangote in a matter of days as regards a possible partnership for Nigerian football.

He also said he lured both rich moguls to see how FIFA rates Nigeria in the eyes of the International community and to witness first hand the international standards of how things are done within football at that level. Talk of trying to show the men that Nigeria is firmly in FIFA's good graces... Lol

Well, time will reveal where all this goes... wink

Bros, i don give you the reality. The same Abia Warriors can play Kwara United again next week and trash them 4-0. I don dey follow this league for long o.
There is hardly any difference in strength between all those teams.

Based on last 5 seasons can you give me a list of top NPFL Teams? Just like how we have it in Europe.

So, Marca did a list of FIFA Worst XI for the year.... And Kelechi made the list

He should be honored that he was remembered ahead of strikers who are far more influential than he is and were much worse, off the top of my head, I'd think Morata would make this list based on goals/game grin

I think the list is based on Performance vs Expectation index. Especially seeing players like Alexis and Ozil on that list.

In other words ''Biggest flops''. grin

Team Nacho sorry o. grin

As in ehn. cheesy grin

I have mixed feelings about that list though.

These guys just had a bad season , that's all.

But many of them have the opportunity to boun ce back this season, and some like nacho are already doing so.

He scored the winning penalty for his team today. They qualified for the carabao cup fourth round. He was picked to be their last spot kick taker (a show of trust).. and Nacho have never ever missed a penalty in his pro career and even at age grade level. It is on record... So nothing to be sorry for abeg... With 2 goals and 2 assists (should even be three if not for Maddison) already this season, that list is absolutely irrelevant at this time... Old news... Make una find another stone. This one is obsolete...

Simon is 1000% correct on this one.
