Is it not possible to place all political office holders on minimum wages? I guess this will put an end to workers going on strike due to poor renumeration. Also, let their academic qualifications determine their levels and steps just as we have it in all parastatals.

Throwback:

But with which money do you want to get higher minimum wage, when the N18k that is too small was the best the FG could do when crude oil was selling above $100/barrel?

And the drop in that crude oil price reduced government revenue and reduced state allocations that has led to owed salaries and half salaries in most states with poor IGR?

So with what funds will the FG now pay above N18k? Or is crude oil that is running our mono-economy now selling above $200/barrel?

As for allegations of opposition sponsoring strikes or protests, that has always been the easier scapegoat of blame.
where did the billions spent recklessly on both Ekiti and osun elections came from? over #400b is already on ground for next year elections. abeg where did the money come from?

If NLC truly is concerned with the welfare of workers then they should ensure all states at present owes no one a single penny. Talking about the state I know well off - for the past few years have placed people on so called 'modulated salary'. If at 18k so many states even find it hard to comply then why the increase to 45k. For emphasis, I am not saying 18k is good enough in present economic situation of the country but how many even get this as at when due?

This type of elephant requests should be done away with. If FG can pay what about states? What about local governments? Infact how many private institutions can afford to make a min of 45k wage? How many shops can even pay sales girl 45? From which profit? It is honestly not feasible.

Before you know it, their union leaders are sorted and the common man continue to suffer. Or can they pretend not to know that some states are owing workers more than a years worth of their hard earned sweat?

I wonder how some people think. do you know that there families that live on 18k per month. people are suffering. when the Senate want increase there salary last year, It didn't take them more than a month. this guys are collecting millions of naira every month. Now the civil servant are asking for 56k per month, one idiot is how is It going to benefit the masses. those that are against this strike are not civil servant. so they think they have nothing to gain, that is why they are against it.

Government employed 5% of the population and most states unable to pay the current minimum wage. If the minimum wage is increased what will happen to 95% of the population and will all states pay the new minimum wage?. Things will make sense one day

And for you to work for government and earn 18k per month it means you have SSCE and you are the messenger , 18K IS NOT BASIC SALARY , IT IS MINIMUM WAGE

also when PDP and Jonathan was selling crude at ~$150/Barrel, they didn't ask for it , now that the economy is recovering from reccession and massive developmental projects are ongoing is when they want to strike , This has PDP's fingerprint all over it , but it's not my business

I'll hope NEPA , Police, DSS , ARMY , Water corporation, Hospitals and everybody else joins the strike that way , we can all suffer the consequences , those with relatives in hospital, those in areas where there's no water, those whose street are being protected by police , and when there's no light to watch Dstv or Startimes, everybody's brain will resent

ButterflyLeo , what do you think ?
