I think this woman got it wrong with her reference to bible. Why do Christians always skip old testament to buttress their argument by using only the new testament? Meanwhile, when it comes to tithes, human Creation, curses, they quickly point to old testament. I'm waiting for their modern testament cox a lot of priest want it too but don't know how to coin it out. I totally agree with Chi on the part she said bible is a story of a particular culture. Fact! I have said this several times.... But some people who have been brainwashed will never want to admit it. I was in a church when question was raised about if we are truly Abraham descendants, and the pastor respond that truly we are not biological descendants of Abraham but by faith we are. I gave up on that day that that book was actually a complete story of which Africans too has such story but not documented or written down. Go to your village and ask elders about what happen in the past you will be shocked on what you will hear. |

Xavier5:As long as man and woman are not equal physically, biologically, physiologically, behaviourally and attitudinally, then both can never enjoy equal rights and privileges. Aren't you people aware that those differences are enough to serve as hindrances, obstacles and make one sex to be at disadvantage compared to other sex? Even our natural environments are not the same and equal for many reasons. And as such, one area may be more better in term of opportunities, advantages and privileges. And whosoever lives in that area may be at hedge compared to other who lives in area where such opportunities do not exist. In fact, our parts of the body are not equal and the same. One part may enjoy more attention, care and dignity due to its function and feature. Though this does not mean it is more important that the other. Man and woman are not the same and cannot be the same. God created both sexes to complement each other. Where one is weak, the other one is strong. Be that as it may, due to the area of weakness of one, they may experience denial in enjoying certain privileges and vice-vasa. 3 Likes |

Womenrep:"fight for equality" ok well said. if women wants equality with men, while is that women re not mobilised in equal number to men to go fight in war front? why aint women doing tedious job like masonry, iron bending, driving heavy duty vehicles in equal proportion as men? why is it that there is an outcry in society when a man fight a woman but men to men is seen as ordinary? why is there no unified men and women's team in game of sport? Abeg shove that ur feminism of equality aside.... 1 Like |

oruma19:Don't misunderstand the man. He knows what he is saying. The fact that he attributed that verse to Jesus as one who was speaking does not make him wrong. Every Christian must believe that every part of the Bible was inspired by God. 'No prophecy of the scripture has hidden interpretation, for men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit', says the word of God. And that is why we call it 'Word of God' or 'Scripture', irrespective of whoever spoke it. Most of what we practice in Christendom today are Pauline doctrines. There are many things Jesus never thought before he left, He commissioned the Apostle to teach. That is why the Bible says Apostles are the foundation and the pillar of the Church upon whom the whole is built. ' And they stand firm in the braking of bread and the teaching of the Apostles' Acts 2. If he like, he can say, God says, Jesus says, Bible says, Holy Spirit says. |

I am a fan of Gender equality, but that instance she picked from the bible is so lame. There are so many instances in the bible that she could have used to buttress her agenda. 1 Like |

Third wave feminism is trash, they are not looking for equality, they are looking for dominance, if you say hello to a feminist it's sexual harassment among other brainless shit they do. They want we men to throw away our ego and become publicly emotional beings(man tears movement) go on YouTube and see feminism logic destroyed |

WotzupNG: How can something that is dramatically different be equal. And how many if the 12 apostles were Women ❓ Using the 21 requirements / disqualification for eldership in the new testament church of Christ. Women are excluded. There is a never ending theme in both the old and new testaments. There are different responsibilities for men and women in the Bible. There is a clear and recognition of difference between men and women. To cap it all who is the head of the home ❓ And men are called to Love thier wives a far greater requirement while women are called to submit to thier husbands. It's not a matter of debate unless people want to turn the Bible upside down. Of course that's always the devil's plan. |

RedboneSmith:Yes, but we're inspired by Jesus. Chimamanda started off by bringing in religion, hence the reason why I quoted that verse to prove that equality doesn't always exist between both sexes in terms of religion. |

okeyfineboy:The verse you quoted doesn't say love is greater than submission. Stop infusing that into it. Yes, some men don't love their wives, but that doesn't mean you should advocate that women should not be submissive. 1 Like |

alBHAGDADI: The verse I quoted explains what love really is, that's why I said you should read and understand the meaning of love. And o yes, love is the greatest, love conquereth all. I'm not advocating that women shouldn't submit, I'm only saying that why most men rant and dwell so much on women submitting, they themselves don't show love and most men bank on submission to subdue their wives and see them as inferior. I don't know why many of you are attacking Chimamanda, I guess many didn't read what she wrote. She made a very good point but most of you failed to see it. 1 Like |

They really couldnt have added that part, the women were just referred to as women while the men were disciples. Patriachy is a problem and it is present in anything that has to do with humans |
