mod17:End of argument is fact, now compare both! FAAC: FG, States, LGs share August allocation [Breakdown]Published on August 30, 2018 By Wale Odunsi Federal, states and local governments on Thursday shared N714.8 billion revenue generated in July. The figure indicated a decline of N107.1 billion when compared to what was generated in June. The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, while briefing newsmen in Abuja on the outcome of the monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting, highlighted several factors that impacted negatively on the month’s income. “Crude oil exports sales volume was 3.74 million barrels showing an increase of 0.17 million barrels when compared with the previous month sales of 3.57 million barrels. “Despite the improved revenue, production was negatively affected in the period by shut-ins and shut-down at various terminals for repairs and maintenance of ageing facilities. “The value Added Tax (VAT), import duty, Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Oil Royalty decreased, while Petroleum Profit Tax recorded an increase,” she said. Adeosun, giving a breakdown of the revenue generated, said that N376.14 billion was generated as mineral revenue, while N221.8 billion came from non-mineral resources. The minister said that Federal Government received N269.8 billion, states N136.85 billion and local government N105.5 billion. She said that N44.96 billion was also shared among the oil producing states, representing 13 per cent of the oil revenue generated in the month of July |

I don't really know how we react like this to issues. Someone posted faac meeting Another person said the report posted is an edited version of the old one. A third person brought forward the last month(the original of last month) report vs the suppose current( the said edited version). Now let's check the detail.. . . For me all parties have done a good job, take whichever stand as it were to be true. 1 Like |

pee30:To end the matter in peace; The Wale Odunsi, who reported the issue, is reporting NBS of 30th August. He quote almost the same figure : 714.81 being the correct figure as 714.8 as the disbursed ......federal received 269.8 against the correct 298.29 .......state received 136.85 as against the correct 138.96 ........lg received 105.5 against 138.96 being the correct figure. Again, the headline should read, held in sept for august as against held in August for July. Conclusively, FAAC have not met. Hopefully next week. However, thanks for sharing. 1 Like |

ALL WORKERS CONVERGENCE(AWC) Motto:We Make Things Work Email:allworkersconvergence@gmail.com Phone no :09055598166 9th Sept,2018. PRESS RELEASE It is now crystal clear going by the assertion of the Minister of Labour , Dr Chris Ngige that government will not pay her workers the new minimum wage in September 2018 as promised by the same government. The position of government on this matter is quite regrettable and it suggest a government that is insensitive to the plight of the workers and equally a government that is callous and treats its workers with scorn. What is now to be done by the Nigerian workers, is to spontaneously react with immediate effect. The Nigerian workers must give direction to our labour leaders that the era of appeal is over, and that we the Nigerian workers will demand and fight for our rights. The Nigerian workers will never tolerate deceit any longer. Having waited since November 2017 for the minimum wage committee only to dash our hopes in September 2018. The game is over , Nigerian workers arise. Our families have suffered enough. We can no longer cope with the cost of living. We refuse to be treated as slaves in our own land. The Nigerian government is strangulated us and we say no to that. The All Workers Convergence(AWC ) call on workers nation wide to start protesting and lock up all work places towards the AWC recommendations to the Nigerian Labour Congress ( NLC ), Trade Union Congress ( TUC ) and the United Labour Congress ( ULC ) to declare an indefinite strike action on September 30th 2018 inorder to compel government to accede to our demands and start the implementation of the minimum wage in September 2018. We call on the Nigerian workers to exercise their civic rights and massively protest against starvation, exploitation and injustice. Nigerian workers will no longer suffer in silence. Workers arise now and fight for your preservation and rights to decent existence. Our labour centres ( NLC / TUC / ULC ) and their industrial unions are called upon to adopt the proposal of the Nigerian workers and act appropriately. Lets all circulate and ensure that every Nigerian worker reads this. Solidarity forever. Comrade Andrew Emelieze National Coordinator ( AWC ) |

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Tuesday insisted the organised labour would commence strike from the early hours of Thursday, following the federal government’s failure to honour its ultimatum on the new minimum wage. A statement signed by Musa-Lawal Ozigi, TUC secretary general in Abuja, said the decision to embark on strike was sequel to the resolve of the Central Working Committee of the congress on Monday. Mr Ozigi said following the mandate of the committee, TUC leadership would take all necessary action to effect the ultimatum on the new minimum wage in collaboration with other stakeholders. “Strike is hereby declared to commence from early hours of Thursday, September 27, 2018,” the secretary general said. He noted that as a result of the TUC’s decision to embark on strike, mobilisation of members would commence immediately. According to him, all workers, civil society organisations and the masses are hereby put on notice to stockpile their houses for all necessary provisions and food items. Mr Ozigi called on state councils to form joint state strike implementation committee that would comprise the TUC, NLC and other stakeholders in the state to ensure effectiveness. He further called on union members to be alert for further directive on or before Thursday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the labour leaders had on September 12 cautioned the federal government against foot-dragging on the new minimum wage and allow the tripartite committee to conclude its job to avoid action. |

last minute effort by the federal government to prevent a workers strike has failed. PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported how the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Ayuba Wabba, declared a total strike at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday. The strike is to start at 12:00 midnight on Wednesday. After the meeting, the NLC leaders attended a meeting called by the Minster of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, to work out a way of averting the strike. Mr Wabba said, at the end of the meeting with the government delegation in Abuja, that the failure of both parties to reach an agreement on the issues raised means the strike will still proceed as scheduled. In his earlier briefing before the meeting, Mr Wabba said the strike will be total and comprehensive. “In compliance with this mandate, all workers and private sector at all levels across the country have been directed to comply. “All public and private institutions, offices, banks, schools, public and private business premises including filling station are to remain shut till further noticed,” he said. PREMIUM TIMES reported how the second largest labour union, TUC, had also asked its members to commence the strike. The workers are demanding a new minimum wage of about N50,000 instead of the current national minimum wage of N18,000. Most state governors as well as proponents of true federalism have, however, argued that states should be allowed to set their own minimum wage especially as many states are barely able to pay the current N18,000 minimum wage. |

FAAC: Federation revenue increases by N27.04 bn in August Posted By: Agency Report On: September 26, 2018 In: Business, News Update 0 Federal, states and local governments on Wednesday shared N741.84 billion as revenue generated in August, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. The figure indicated a N27.04 billion when compared to the N714.84 that was shared in July. The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse made this known in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting. He said the increase was due to the increase in Crude oil exports sales volume, from 37.4 million barrels in July to 45.7 million barrels in August. In addition, Isa-Dutse said that Value Added Tax, import duty, Petroleum Profit Tax increased in the month of August, while Companies Income Tax and oil royalty decreased. Giving a breakdown of the revenue generated, the Permanent Secretary said that N451.29 billion was generated as mineral revenue, while N175.84 billion came as non-mineral revenue. To this end, the minister said that Federal Government received N274.88 billion, states N139.42 billion and local government N107.49 billion. He said that N53.03 billion was also shared among the oil producing states, representing 13 per cent of the oil revenue generated in the month of August. Isa-Dutse said that because the revenue for the month surpassed their expectation, an equivalent of N40 billion was transferred into the Excess Crude Account (ECA), adding that the balance in the ECA account was 2.46 billion dollars. On the allegation, that the Federal Government had recalled the second tranche of the Paris Club Refund from Delta, Imo, Benue, Rivers and Osun state, he said that the issue was not raised by the committee members. Meanwhile, the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris assured Civil Servants that their salaries would be paid on time, in spite of the threat by the Nigeria Labour Congress to go on strike. The industrial strike is in furtherance of the implementation of the new National Minimum Wage. (NAN) 2 Likes |
