For once I have to agree with you. I visited Oguta in 2003 and I was blown away with sheer beauty, wealth, culture and sophistication in one town. It is not only the best planned community in Igboland,it also has some of the most enlightened fellows of Igbo origin who for some reasons remain anonymous. It is only second to Abriba in having hilltop residences and breathtaking structures.I lodged at Obana Motel, which happen to be on same street with Dr Alban's residence. Oguta is so dope that indigens who live in PH,Owerri and Onitsha troop home every weekend to spend it in their palatial mansions. Xmas holiday in Oguta is a carnival all day. The town also has one of the highest per capita of "diasporans" by a long mile. Almost every Uguta family I know has at least two of their wards based abroad. Oguta is more beautiful than many state capitals I know in South West and North west. This is no joke, friends.

It's simply beautiful.
Never knew there is a planned rural area in our area.
This is impressive
rural areas should be planned like this. Wow this is cool. More space for other things.

Please i want to ask this question. Base on the population of Ndiigbo xcluding the wana be. The current land mass of the igbos is it enough for the population of igbos ... Am talking about the places who acknowledge their igboness. Is it enough and what can we do and how can we manage the land mass so that it will be enough

I've been there as well, and know of two families there: the Agoruas' and the Nwapas'.

Oguta has succeeded in blending the planned layout of streets typical of cities, with the laid back, unhurried and calm atmosphere typical of most Igbo villages. The best time to enjoy the place is when everyone (at home and abroad) comes home for Christmas. The pristine lake is just an added bonus!

Now i think of it, i can boldly say Oguta is the Igbo village that offers the best of both worlds (city and village living) and in my estimation even trumps Abiriba (small London) that seems to have more and better press.

I've been busy for a while and have no recent update of Owerri though I've read about the damage of roads and difficulty moving around lately. Anytime I get a good rest period, I promise to update especially the Imo thread.

Great shot bro! Glad to see you are still posting pics. Please be mindful of those that want to derail every Igbo thread. I know a certain individual with multiple monikers that will NEVER contribute any useful idea whatsoever in our threads. He only waits for our people to quarrel then he uses the opportunity to post filth and derail our thread.

Seeing Nnewi from the air shows how much we must do serious town planning for the city.
