My wife and I made this decision to bring each of our kids back to Nigeria after their middle school, after we noticed the deteriorating behavior and academics in our first child.

This same child now attend a top 10 liberal arts college in the US (2nd year), while her middle school friends are barely cutting it in community colleges or became dropouts. And yes, she did take SSCE and applied from Nigeria, but as a US citizen.

Entitlement mentality and peer influence are damaging kids' future in the US.

It will take your husband at least 10 years to practice as a doctor in US if he is very smart (USMLE + residency). He can change to other profession in the medical field. In that case, at least 3 years for something decent. It will be easier for you to start in Nursing (challenge the Board exams).

If you are migrating to stay illegally, be ready to hate your life for years. 5 years down the drain, you still may not be able to find your footing.

If I had assets of 1million dollars, why the hell will I waste it to immigrate? I can continue to grow my business, employ people locally, and have a much lower cost of living. People will call me sir, carry my bags for me, cook me good food, drive me around, and I can carry olosho without fear of arrest. I have consistently read your comments on this thread and noticed that you really wanna make a move but you don't know how. What more, age is on your side. You need to consult a professional travel agent to get the right information so as to help you make an informed decision.

There is this Agent I know based in Warri (I've never met him in person though but have his contact. Knew him through my fiancee's family). He is the one that helped her elder sister and two younger brothers get admission in Canada two years ago and her admission in UK. The man is good!

I tested him out with my younger sister and her hubby (they wedded last month) early this year and now they are expecting their visa in coming days. Waiting expectantly to see if they'll be given Canadian visa. Mind you they both are going with student visa but may not really pursue education at the moment. Mt inlaw has a friend who wants to put him in a job while his wife (my sister) studies.
