Babyvet: There are ways. But u won't know it till u try. Those obsessed with what's written down will not even try. The thing is, the ways will not show themselves till u put yourself in the process. Where there is a will there is a way. Don't let yourself be discouraged from even trying. 2 Likes |

ASPIREX: Your decision should be based on personal conviction and not just because you hear people are making big bucks in foreign countries. Because you can make it big anywhere in the world. If you are convinced relocation is the best option, weigh the pros and cons. Then look for what is high in demand in the country you are prospecting so you can supply by sourcing it from naija. Do this as a side hustle to supplement your paycheck till it grows enough for you to build a business from it 1 Like |

If you are truly serious about relocating, visit the travel section. You will see some threads about migrating to Canada and Australia through the federal programs being offered by the countries. But okay, which jobs do those illegals have access too, please tell me. Are they working in Wall Street, own top legal firms or are they medical doctors? Babyvet: I was reacting to your directing hom to only pay attention to what's written on the websites. My point is, don't let what's written down as the rules discourage u. Once u start ways usually appear that u never knew were there. Imagine someone abroad worrying about what's stated as the rules in Nigeria when in reality with a bit of bribery anything is possible. 4 Likes |

majekdom2: Urgh! Said I will not respond here we go! I did not ignore the successful people in Nigeria, just because it’s hard to succeed in Nigeria even if you have the right tools to succeed elsewhere, doesn’t mean there aren’t people that succeed in Nigeria despite the obstacles. Wouldn’t it be silly to say there are no successful Nigerians? Even a broken clock is right twice a day! To be honest I never answered the OP’s question I kind of derailed the thread, I NEVER said the OP should leave Nigeria because he will ALWAYS make it in America. I was replying someone that said as a Nigerian you can’t be a millionaire/billionaire in the US, unless you go back to Nigeria and used Otedola and Dangote as example. As it is with life, not everyone will make it in America and not everyone will fail in Nigeria. If you come to America with the mindset of making quick money or not working hard for your money, you are going to FAIL there is no miracle. Some people have what it takes to make it in Nigeria, while the same formula will not work in America. However, you cannot deny that there are more opportunities to be successful in a country not designed for you to fail, even if you don’t have a pedigree or a lot of money. Forbes dosent have a millionaire’s list rightfully so, because it is not rare ( like just 2,000 billionaires in the world) so I was referring to millionaires as I stated in my last reply. There are many millionaires walking about in the US. 1 Like |

bros at 47 with wife and kids DO NOT ATTEMPT IT and most importantly go to TB Joshua church to pray that the witches in ya village that is about to lead you on this path of destruction should be destroyed with holy ghost fire. there is a reverse brain drain and everybody is running back to africa. the west is falling. they wont even give you a job in the west at 47. they like their workers looking young and vibrant. there is ageism in the west, once you reach 50 they sack you. unless you are a specialist like an oncologist or some medical guru. so you at 47 ? there is no job for you in the west. unless you dont mind sweeping macdonalds or security work or driving taxi 2 Likes |

Timi1990: I am going to base my answer with the assumption that your "spouse" is a wife. What every mother wants is the safety and well being of their children. While Nigeria can be a place that can help make US born kids realize the opportunities in the US, it can also be a dangerous place for these kids. This is why a lot of women frown against relocating their children to Nigeria. So, first thing is the mother needs to be convinced that her child/children will be safe, and that the undertaking will be in the best interest of the kid(s). But please, if you must send your kids to Nigeria for schooling, you MUST have an unwavering support from your wife, and you should start first by having the kids visit Nigeria, with your wife, once a year, for at least three years. It makes it easier on the little ones. 2 Likes |

TheNaijanBlog:go back and read the post the person who used Otedola and Dangote quoted before you come with mentions. The OP said he has an ambition to be like or close to Dangote and thinks that relocating elsewhere at 47 will help achieve this ambition. I came with an argument that it’s easier to become Dangote in the US if you migrate at an early age. Go read again. No one says you can’t make it in The US. The post is about the chances for a 47 year old without any business idea |

WetinConsignMe: You clearly live in Nigeria and have no idea what you are talking about . No one in their mind would recommend anyone to come here illegally . I’m sure they are many illegal immigrants would find money give to someone to make them legal immigrants , if it just involves some bribery. It’s not that easy . Abeg stay home and face Buhari and leave these matters to people who actually live here and know there system. 1 Like |

majekdom2: Nigerians are the most desperate set of people. You will see people doing well and tell you that their friends have travelled and that they are working towards leaving also. While are other Africa countries not like Nigeria? 75 percent of PR seakers from Africa are Nigerians. Once you hear that your friends have travelled, you start making your own arrangements without even knowing the reason why your friends travelled or why you want to travel. Desperation. Having the thoughts that those that have left are better than you and you will be desperate to leave also. You would not want them to be better than you 4 Likes |

There are only two solutions to your questions sir... 1 is to stay back and hustle for your children to school abroad 2. Is to pack your stuffs into Canada right now.... At least you have the money, I don't see what's there to contemplate...... Forget this people discouraging you from moving... No suffer go reach the one wey you Don see for naija NB... I havent traveled outa the country, not for once (hoping by God's grace) but I understand that the USA is a no no no...... Especially under trumps administration, would be a waste of money.... Base on your background, it will be very easy to travel to Canada with your family |

Laird: Ok there is element of truth in your comment but let's be careful how we Nigerians like to make arguments with very strong opinion unless you are 100% sure that you are accurate. 1) It is not impossible to get a decent job in Canada with a foreign degree, that's just not true and this is a myth being thrown around by a lot of people. It depends on what you studied and how you positioned yourself, if you were a banker in Nigeria, you must be flexible to take a job different from what you were doing in Nigeria e.g some kind of analyst in an insurance company or similar sector and ready to learn new skills very fast. A friend of mine moved to Canada directly from Nigeria and he got a job in less than 6 month in Saskatchewan. All his education was from Nigeria, he worked in the financial sector in Nigeria. Another also came in 2016 all education from Nigeria, also financial sector experience, landed in Calgary, got a job within a year he is now a business analyst also in Saskatchewan, it took him that long because he did not stay back, he was spending most of his time in Nigeria to keep his Nigeria job until he found a job in Canada. All you need to do is evaluate your education and get as a proof that it is up to Canadian standard. I did it and interestingly, no employer ever asked to see proof of evaluation of my education. Not bragging, I work for big brands as a consultant. I am not using my self as an example because I have European education and work experience before moving here. If I compared myself and those guys, nothing make me different in what we have all achieved or will still achieve. Your other point on Canada not recognizing professional education from 3rd world countries, well not exactly, they just want to be sure that you are truly qualified and put you through tests before letting you handle people's lives. Now the the licensing process for medical professional has being relaxed than it was before and it is worth the hassle because the pay is very good. In other specializations such as I.T Accounting/Financial services, engineering etc, why would anyone do certification that is not internationally recognized? And if you did, all you need to do is update your certification with the ones that is recognized. It will only take you a couple of months to get most certification that you think will help you. If I go into Nigerian gatherings any day, virtually everyone is doing fantastic with their jobs and their lives. Although this is because most Nigerians in Canada have good immigrant status and that is the key but I only discuss your argument here which is about whether or not your Nigerian education is recognized and based on that, you will not have good jobs. I say that is not true. It depends on you. 4 Likes |

Nigeria is not the only third world in the country but Nigerians like to make the loudest noise . Look at this thread , many people shouting about abroad that they have never stepped foot into .
