Oga sir. Once again,i refer to this discussion strictly for academic purposes.I therefore shall not subject it to a back and forth debate with you. Facts are sacred in the field of science and history. (1). The first link you provided failed to address the issue. (2). The second links you provided above failed to address the issues once again. The authors were more interested in attacking those with contrary viewpoints rather than providing superior arguments. (3) I recommended 2 key Igbo scholars who have even written books and made numerous presentations on this matter but you waved them aside and further called them delusional, yet again failing to provide alternative facts. (4) I provide works of foreigners who researched on Igbo norms and practices strictly for academic purposes. The also noted the Hebraic-Igbo similarities. You once again stampeded on their works and questioned their sincerity without providing alternative superior viewpoints. (5). I earlier mentioned and noted the exactitude of core Igbo and Hebraic beliefs but you called them historical accidents. (6) Weather Igbos came from Israel or Isrealites came from Igbos is not my concern. The interesting similarities between both stocks is it. It has also sparked more academic interests in recent times than on any other Igbo related topic, except Biafra. Infact, late Professor Catherine Acholonu wrote a book titled "They Came Before Adam" which support the hypothesis that the ancient Isrealites migrated from Igboland! That Igbos are the original progenitors of the superior race Guess what? She provided lots of links and artefacts to prove and validate that position! Now sir, thats an academic inquiry that should rattle every genuine Igboman who wish to understand our existence. (7) Olaudah Equiano wrote in his memoirs that while his captor's son was reading a portion of the old testament on a certain day,He(Olaudah) told him point blank that all he read out were his culture back home! Igbos and Hebrews share almost all core beliefs and traditions. (. There is a utility in every learning. Approaching them with an open mind devoid of preconceived bias and repulsion will edify us all better. (9) A lot was lost in history which we may never grasp. However, flickers and clues here and there are the guide posts in connecting the links. Ndewo sir. |

Abagworo: We the Agbor indigenous community are Igbos. My grandfather lived with the British at Agbor oki, we speak Igbo and observe all Igbo traditions. You have no rights whatsoever to reject us. You didn't create us. 11 Likes 1 Share |

pazienza:I'm not disputing your statement. But in most Igbo communities what is used for the statement you made above is OKORO. There's Okoroigwe, Okoro-obi and Okoroeze. |

Anyone who believes he is from Israel should do so on his behalf and that of his family but generalizing it by saying that all Igbos migrated from Israel is foolishness 3 Likes |

Handsomegod: You are the one who shoved aside facts, to pursue inanities here. The second link clearly gave the histories of most Igbos clans. None is Jewish. Eri was described as a progenitor, sky deity, not a migrant. Or did you see any Israeli linkages there? There, Only was said to have their progenitor from the ground, same as Owerri. How many of your ancestors told you differently? Why should I accept such colonial influence on my history of all things? There is nothing like providing alternative facts to yours, cos that Jewish linkage isn't a fact. The articles disproved why the Hebrew linkage is a farce and everything said there is true. You are yet to defend that, just stuck on insisting you came from Hebrew for no good reason. Archeological studies of Awka and Nsukka gave Igbo history at around 8000 BC, I was thinking that the newer archeological discoveries done at Nsukka (of 4000 BC) would have opened your eyes but you rather prefer fallacies. As at 8000bc, Abraham wasn't even born. If anything, it's Hebrews that migrated from some parts of Igboland. 2 Likes |

All of a sudden, sharing some beliefs is a proof your ancestors migrated from a place. What a funny matter. What of the ones Igbos share with other people, shouldn't that help? Peruse those documents again and see the legions of differences and tell me which ones have more points? The only commonality I even see is day 8 circumcision, every other thing is hogwash. No similarity in religion, just nothing. If Christianity or the Bible never occurred via colonialism, how would you have had contact with the Old Testament? In other words, without colonialism, you would have been 'historyless'. The question is, what did your grandpa tell you about the origin of your clan? Invite your village chief priests into your home and ask them to do incantations for you, and tell me whether what they say has anything to-do with the Bible . Did you see Amadioha, Ani, etc in the Bible? Some of you play too much 3 Likes |

The little I know about Ekpo is that is prevalent in Imo and Abia parts of Igboland, and is some how related to Cross riverian culture, just like Ekpe. Can someone clear me on this? 1 Like |

InyinyaAgbaOku: Igbos are Jewish decedent , all Igbo traditions have roots in the Holy Bible, that's why the ancestors embraced it more. Special status for sons, bravery and survival against all odds are more traits and beliefs igbos share with their Jewish ancestors. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

I'm not the type to dismiss things. But honestly speaking, the Hebrew story sound bogus. The only way Ndiigbo are Hebrews is if the current Ashkenazi Caucasians inhabiting Israel called Israeli, are not Hebrews( biblical Israelites), but rather impostors. Because let's face it, Ndiigbo are no way related to the Caucasians currently inhabiting Israel, who by the way, are racists. But this is the problem. Those Igbos who promote the Igbo Hebrew story also claim Ndiigbo are related to the current Caucasian occupants of Israel. This in my opinion cannot be farther from the truth. 2 Likes 1 Share |

BankeSmalls: Your ancestors embraced Christianity by sheer force, nothing else. Most cultures have special status for sons. Bravery and survival? LMAO. Please, how do these things make one Hebraic ? Can't people share customs again? What of the plenty dissimilarities? The reason why I am taking this thing light is that I average been in this shoe when I was younger. A church preacher was saying that to us. Nobody can say these things to me again abeg 2 Likes |

It's torture, the rate of direct and indirect negative words directed towards Ndiigbo there. I have been there for long now. I can't take the torture, I have made up my mind on the people and thinking of leaving there soon for the sake of my sanity. 2 Likes |

InyinyaAgbaOku:I will respond to you finally. Recall this back and forth started from page 181 of this thread. The key view I stated was how a certain act supported the Eri hypothesis (Read, hypothesis? Theory? Proponent?) of Igbo history. I didn't make a declarative or definite statement because I know that such views may be widely held in some quarters but not fully accepted in others. Is there an Eri/Gad hypothesis of Igbo history? Emphatically yes! Are there studies and facts to support that? Emphatically yes! Has it received general acceptance? Emphatically No! You went on overdrive! Debunked the claims(which I never made, anyway) and have been battling an unseen force ever! According to you, those who support your views are logical and factual. All opposing viewpoints are delusional and insane! Come on sir! I am not your candidate! 3 Likes 1 Share |
