Most nigerian feminists don't know what feminism is all about. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_suffrage_in_the_United_States like in the usa there was a time women could not vote , if no one campaigned for it like black rights nothing would have changed.

-in Nigeria men are the traditional head of homes who provides and the women were housewives or doing less career inclined jobs, nowadays women too have jobs holding managerial positions. what is obtainable in normal nigerian marriage now looks like cheating to women cos they are providing too
-Nigeria men want women to be like their moms who endured all the BS their dad dished out, today's exposed and enlightened women want none of that.

- before most women wont be given managerial roles cos they were women, that's changing

- what most Nigerian gals are doing is borne out of frustration due to heart breaks and all manner of things guys have done to them, na hatred dem dey practice and not feminisn, Bye

Classic feminism is not about misandry and denhing the biological gender differences. That would be the postmodern 3rd world feminism which is an extremist ideology.

Women were not allowed tl vote until the early 20th century. They were not allowed to go to medicine school, engineering school etc. and paid far lower than men for the same jobs.

Equal rights and equal pay - that's what equality means. Women should have the same legal rights amd get the same pay for the same job and not fepend on father's or husband's permission to study and work.

Op this is what feminism basically stands for, unfortunately some females are still taking it way overboard.

I believe in today's world women enjoy the same privileges like men.
The pay discrepancies is a myth (that's putting it politely because it's a lie), both state and federal government staffs are paid same amount of salary as long as your name is in the payment voucher. Even NYSC allowance.

Most men work for longer hours while most women would prefer to be home with their families. And you should also note the kind of jobs women prefer.
Even in our tertiary institutions you find a large number of women in a certain department. If you want to talk of pay you should also consider the line of work.

Trust me we are behind, the west are now waging a war on feminism, funny enough the gender waging this war are women - isn't that so cool?

The 3rd wave feminism has crossed the line as far as the women in the west are concerned, and that is infringement of their right to choose how they should live their lives.
3rd wave feminism aims at dictating how a woman should live their lives, and the kind of ideologies they should have (You can imagine that Nigerian feminist asking a Former Secretary of State of The United States Of America why she called her self a wife - such audacity).
This is simply removing choice out of the equation, the very thing feminism is suppose to strife for.

The west that introduced the feminism already have women dismantling it.
Like Condoleezza Rice once said, it's turning women into snowflakes.

Just sit back and watch the sparks fly as women with a clear vision of how they want to live their lives handle feminist.

There is still a lot of inequality. Girls are discouraged from studying STEM and conditioned to follow a path that pigeonholes them into certain fields. Quite often it's other women who judge and discourage. Feminism is also about educating those women to leave the backward and progressive attitudes behind.
The pay gap is an issue in some countries. Good to hear Nigeria is far ahead of some others in that regard.

In what ways are girls discouraged from studying STEM? And how will you explain the gender choices in feminist countries such as the Scandinavia (notably Sweden(, where women when left to their own devices, refrain from engaging in professions dominated by men (such as engineering)?

It has also been documented that female babies are drawn to toys they nurture (e.g. dressing toys, plaiting hair) while men usually like toys such as cars, guns etc? How will you explain this? Or are children also programmed from the womb ? I'll like to know

It's not just about STEM. Female bus drivers are common in Europe and parts of the USA, women do jobs known as men's jobs like painting buildings, physical work at warehouses. Many are intimidated away from STEM. At least they have the freedom do to whatever jobs they want, don't get paid less than men, don't depend on men for money.

Op you tried but the truth of the matter is that their is no true feminist in Nigeria. How can people claim to be fighting for equal rights without the corresponding responsibilities? Anybody who claims to be a feminist only when it suites him or her is a hypocrite.

3rd wave feminism might have some extremes, but it is absolutely incorrect to say that women are dismantling or waging a war on it. Because feminism is a lot more than just "manspreading" or whatever. The fundamental goals of feminism, such as the ability to vote, own property, equal rights, equal opportunities and equal pay and to be in positions of authority, are not going to go away, as no woman is going to go back to living without it. Even Condoleezza Rice that said what she said about snowflakes, is still in a position of authority and she's not going to give that up because some people don't like that feminism has made it inconvenient for them to discriminate against women.

The "war on feminism" is against its extremes. The main tenets of feminism are still very much in place.
