DUNKA: if your daily runs doesn't incorporate carrying bags of rice or packs of bottle drinks the CRV is good enough. Better in mpg ratings. Both vehicles have there ups and down like the crv with its camber caving in when used for carrying heavy kg around, the first generation sienna with its permanent second window bad for ventilation. both vehicles are good on all generations for fuel economy crv for luxury sienna. |

Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by nurey(m): 4:37am On Oct 04, 2018 |
Timagex: when you see an Audi stamped with quattro it means it is a 4 wheel drive one. The quattro assist in balance and stability |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by chris81964(m): 11:36am On Oct 04, 2018 |
DUNKA:They are different classes of vehicles and meet different needs. The CRV is much smaller and lighter and would of course use less fuel. However it has a more complicated drive train with different maintenance schedules. For a very small household interested in very short trips the CRV would be the better choice for Nigeria. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by weyreypey: 4:02pm On Oct 04, 2018 |
chris81964:Wrong. Siena trumps the CRV in all respects. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by HeavenlyBang(m): 5:55pm On Oct 04, 2018 |
weyreypey: Gas mileage? Plus it's an MPV...not really designed to be used as a daily driver. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by weyreypey: 6:19pm On Oct 04, 2018 |
HeavenlyBang:Is the CRV a reliable daily driver? I think Nigerian drivers will disagree with you |

Please compare 2012 Lexus Gx460, 2013 Toyota Landcruiser and 2013 Lexus LX570 as a daily driver in South West Nigeria |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by nurey(m): 4:27am On Oct 05, 2018 |
jodeci01: The LX570 is an upscale land cruiser. The GX460 is smaller than the LX570. Since LX and land cruiser are same the comparism is LX vs GX. The LX is a full size luxurious off Roade The GX is a mid size luxurious SUV. The LX beats GX in serious off road experience. They all share same engine though you will have 4 petrol engine variants in the land cruiser to choose from, the lexus LX and GX would probably be 1 engine due to region it was imported from. The GX is a 4.6L V8 14.1L/100km highway 18.8L/100km city The LX is a 5.7L V8 16.6L/100km highway 23.8L/100km city All the vehicles of choice are reliable with very strong chassis and body parts and are reliable daily drivers. The GX has the practical fuel economy and luxurious too with 7 seater against 8 seater in the LX/land cruiser. |

egesie: just jejely buy the benz the E90 trumps the benz in most aspect and should even be considered due to year difference but the parts of that E90 are like a double edge sword that cannot be weaved when directed at an opponent. The electronic power steering fails my guy nah suffering and smiling pick the benz and feel among abeg. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by nurey(m): 4:47am On Oct 05, 2018 |
egesie: I would give handling and performace more to the passat. if your long distance journey is to north pick the 406, if it is to the east pick the passat. 1 Like |

egesie: Correct on all counts. Benz would be a better car, though. |

i am trying to get a bmw x6 2009/2010 , nigerian used in good condition i would like to know how good this car is maintenance wise fuel consumption , availability of parts, 2nd hand value, etc its urgent pls |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by nurey(m): 1:20pm On Oct 05, 2018 |
CarEnthusiast: BMW is synonymous to the ultimate driving machine, forget the bloated size of the X6 it is still sport oriented and will leave slow pokes in its dust with its I6 turbo 302hp or the 4.4 turbo V8 dishing out 402hp, if you now wish to go on all out with the M series having a 547hp you ask for it, and you got it. fuel economy seriously just go and buy picanto abeg maintenance dealer preferred to avoid expensive repairs. availability of parts shouldn't be an headache you can order or place a call to radautoworks. besides bmw are machines built to withstand the harsh conditions thrown at it. The engine is only your concern and proper oil usage and timely maintenance would protect you. 2nd hand value please go and buy a lexus Rx or Venza. We buy BMWs because we are just different from others 1 Like |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by CarEnthusiast: 1:34pm On Oct 05, 2018 |
nurey: fair enough, i shouldnt worry about fuel economy my main concern is, hope parts are ready available and arent too costly and i prefer to use cars for 6mnths to 1yr then resell, hence my choice for nigerian used vehicles i hope i wont lose much on its value after 6months to a yr and i wont have spent a fortune on repairs |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by HeavenlyBang(m): 1:36pm On Oct 05, 2018 |
CarEnthusiast: Tbh, if you're using cars for just a year, Nigerian used is the worst possible choice. Because you'd have to spend a decent amount of money to get it into the your ideal condition, then sell it off immediately after in a market where people think cars are cheap. 1 Like |

HeavenlyBang: Chances of seeing a nigerian used in good condition and not needing to spend much on it are slim? 1 Like |

sKeetz: it's a good car |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by HeavenlyBang(m): 5:42am On Oct 06, 2018 |
sKeetz: Pre-2010 or so had carbon buildup issues. It's underpowered, too. IS350 is much better. |

Please, Compare TOYOTA CAMRY (1999-2001) vs FORD FOCUS hatchback (1999-2004) In terms of reliability, power, fuel, security and maintenance. Which is overall the better buy vehicle if it is for a young family man for daily runs. Regards. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by nurey(m): 12:02pm On Oct 06, 2018 |
deborsky: reliability camry power camry except you are interested in the sports tuned focus RS Fuel consumption ford focus though depending on engine type you are buying. security Ford focus. The camry can be stolen whole when parked, came be snatched at gun point, also can be part stripped by thieves. maintenance camry. I don't know much about the focus but it's a small compact vehicle but has a high performance model parts may not be as expensive as it's successor. if you are buying camry ensure tight and optimum security for your investment |

nurey:Hmm. Thanks so much. |
Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by deborsky(m): 2:20pm On Oct 06, 2018 |
I so much appreciate the comparison. I have removed the Camry from my options. Pls can you help to compare the ford focus with Toyota Carina E 2001. Pls note that aside from daily drive to work, I will be using it to travel for like 4hrs non stop once a week. Pls consider other variables like reliability, fuel, security, maintenance and power.
