Chuks Aneke again. That dude ain't improving bro. After he was released by Arsenal his S-curve just dey point downwards. 11games already, he was only in 3. Him get injury??. For crying out loud. This is Nigeria super eagles. Call this player, call that player. We need players who are ready to bleed on the field not ones wey want use us as catalyst.

Which dude is not improving?

If not for injury that stopped him from progressing in the Belgium pro league he would have gone far by now.

He walked straight into the first team and was impressive in his first season in Belgium pro league despite the fact he came up from league one for that matter. He was just 19 years old then. I brought his attention to this place and clamoured for his invitation to the dream team but Samson get em boys, so fell on deaf ears.

He was there for one and the half season before long injury set in.

Look at the injury profile. From 1 Dec 2015 to Nov 2016. That was one full year injury.

Iwobi was an academy player before he played for the SE. It was after he played for us Arsenal decided to renew his contract. Even Wenger confirmed he never thought Iwobi will make it.

I repeat, without SE nobody go hear am.

I disagree..Iwobi was doing well with arsenal youth team and would have been promoted to the first team even without a SE invite.. Arsenal under Wenger had a reputation for promoting outstanding players from.their academy to the main team .

Iwobi was struggling to get into the u18 team ,iwobi is a different player now okay, you are so dumb to think a player must make it to u18 before making it to the senior team.

Keep on washing those stadium toilet .

Mason mount of derby county has been called up by England and you say iwobi will not make the team ? Ass Licker

Many Arsenal academy players were promoted to the first team but not all were given the chance. Akpom was already playing some games for Arsenal first team before Iwobi but he's nowhere now.

Actually, it's not. Can you name one Nigerian born player who had a long career with the 3 Lions? They would you get country tied with an inconsequential game and then dump you like a hot eba. Yet those guys cannot learn from history.

O pari

Dele Ali.

You mean the way we used and dumped Aluko And other dual-nationals

I’ve said it before. The mindset that focuses on whether the player will win or lose eventually is a faulty one. We should be focusing on how we can harness our best talents. They have every right to make their choices. But the real question is what is in it for Nigeria? It’s simple just do the right thing. We should be ahead of the other country in spotting a talent and showing that we are serious.

Exactly!

I don't know why some people want us to be giving preferential treatment to these foreign born players...
Rather than focusing on foreign born players, let the NFF focus more time and resource in developing our own home grown talents...

It's not preferential treatment. If any Nigerian player deserves a call, he should be call. Gaskiyani!

Lol you can’t even defend your stance u dey throw weak punch.

Modified
Bascovanveli let me reiterate. You hand him a late invite for the Libya friendly. We don’t even need to play him. He just need to make the match day squad.

Two things would have been achieved:

1. England would realize they have to take their hands off, because he is ours.
2. He would know he is very much part of the Nigerian project.

You dey yan say u wan call am to convince am why it’s better for him to wait. You don’t convince a player to wait, that should come out of their own volition. That’s like saying we don’t consider you good enough now. You need us more than we need u.

I am not throwing any punches I am speaking facts. When somebody doesn't want to go with simple reasoning what do u want me to say?

England will know to keep hands off if he simply tells them he is waiting for Nigeria.

@ the bolded, no single player is bigger than our national team and yes he needs us more than we need him. There is only one Dele Alli but there are hundreds of Nigerian boys who never even smelled 3 lions. If he is being honest he should know that Nigeria is were his best opportunity lies

It's true. Even Iwobi said Arsenal doubted his ability and wanted to release him not just once. The SE call was a game changer.

Wenger said this after he played for Nigeria in two friendlies and after he saw that he performed well for us. It was during that period Arsenal made him signed a contract.

SE call was the game changer.

Seriously? He was talking about something that happened when he was like 14 yrs old
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 9:52am On Oct 06, 2018
You can never know how a player will turn out. This is why England stay on top of their development. How many players’ careers has Nigeria made? On the other hand, What progress have we made in our football after so many years? I keep repeating, it’s this mentality that keeps us behind. I call it foolish pride.

How do u even throw such a line as regards Eze, no single player is bigger than Nigeria. It baffles me.

Don't tell me that. Samuel Okwaraji died on the field of play representing this great country, anyone who puts on our jersey must really want to represent us, the end.

they have more access to the said players than we do because they practically groomed them. Hence, they utilized more of them than we did at various age levels. Let’s be logical how many of the said dumped players deserved a recall? All the Nigerian players that have once been invited and forgotten, would u say we also dumped them? We are talking “one passport” Nigerians now.

Modified
It’s an unfair comparison because we haven’t been able to get a lot of the said players to play for us in the first place.
