Wow!! Just Wow...
That is to say; if you observe what's up wella, you might be considering inviting you Mother for holidays and put a script infront of your house that says;
Child Care Home grin

This really cracked me up. It is not that straight-forward o . You dare not do that unless Mumsy has the required Australian qualifications and associated licences. The second day the script goes up, Authorities would be at your doorsteps. Some Nigerians still have their Mum doing this though, based on relationships with other Nigerians who go to work full time and have Children that needs care.

Hello, am new here but going through the threads I noticed ur comments on not studying masters in business. Am a graduate of accounting but hope to switch, what possible courses can one study in line with getting PR...

bellong:

Studying a masters in business will likely be an exercise in futility as it has no pathway for you to stay.

You are better off continuing with masters in prosthetic and orthotics at the La Trobe University. You can use this to apply for PR later and even get a better career pathway.

Don't waste money on Masters in Business. Study a course that will lead to a PR. To read more on PR, check the other thread.

A. Yes you can get a work visa through two ways, either getting a job in Australia from Nigeria or through skilled migration process. There is no direct application for work visa.
B. No direct work visa... Refer to A
C. Yes... you can confirm authenticity of a visa using VEVO. Google would be very useful here.
D. No fixed prices, changes per season and per airline... Google will help.
E. No cost at the airport except taxi fare or bus fare.. not more than $60 if living too far from airport.
F. You are permitted to carry $10k and below cash. If more, you need to declare it. No rule about BTA, you can leave with $0, it is up to you.

Ok I have someone that want to get me a work visa in Australia.... But I have my doubts..... If it's successful will my passport be taken away from me in arrival from the company? Secondly can I quit the so called job if it ain't conducive for me or if it takes most of time? Thirdly will I be subjected to slave treatment in the work making it hard for me to quit? So thats my worries....

There are many Nigerians here in Darwin. Live is good as I have seen. No traffic, but personal vehicle is very necessary. I'm yet to see someone without job for long. People combine two or three jobs here.
Living cost is not so much different so far you are earning. Accommodation is a bit high, but it also depends on individual preferences. One can find 270-300 per week for 2 rooms one bath and one car park. It's hot October to November and December. There's no cool here. I like it here.

Please can I ask you a question?

It is against the labour law for any company to subject staff to inhumane treatment. If such happens, you can lodge a complaint to Fair Work Australia and it will be addressed adequately. However, some employer sponsored visa is tied to the company that sponsors you. If the company sacks you, your visa ends. If it is such employer nominated visa you intend to get, you can't resign as your resignation means your visa ends.

Companies here generally treat people like human beings and fairly except for those illegal jobs.

Meanwhile, I cannot comment on the authenticity of the agent or the visa he is planning to get for you.

One more question when the visa comes out hope I can verify it? If yes then how?

All the work/tourist visas have names. Ask the person the subclass name of the visa he wants to apply for you.

With that, you can do your own research or come back to tell us here.

And yes, if your Australian visa is valid, you can verify it on Vevo website. Search for it.

Lastly, it might be better to go read the DIY Australian PR thread.

It is not difficult to get a doctor's prescription from Nigerian hospital. You should get one. Malaria is treated like a terminal illness here, if they know you are moving with malaria medication, you may be quarantined.

Why not use the drugs in Nigeria close to coming and flush all the malaria parasites in your system than carrying malaria drugs around. There is no Anopheles mosquito in Australia.

No one can answer this question for you. It is dependent on your values and what you want out of life.

If you are after quality of life, I will say leave Nigeria. If making fast money is your desire, remain in Nigeria.

If it is "working visa", sit in Nigeria and do business... If na permanent residence, do it yourself, travel out, make the 3 million in less than a year and attempt the business in Nigeria to see whether it would have worked...

There are about three classes. I would be wary of all these agents peddling Australia work visa.

What's the big deal with Australia accent? Is it not English?

I sometimes speak in America accent when I am in a good mode and other times switch back to my normal thick Nigeria accent. English is English.

Well, for now, looking at bills-rent,groceries,power etc, I will say on the average for us a minimum of $2000 monthly (minimum being the operative word o cheesy)
Sorry to ask, the quoted amount up there and on all other Aussie sites is in AUD or USD?
